Bayan Episode 23 - A Beloved Deed in the Sight of Allah

We should utilise this temporary world for our Hereafter and fill our treasure chest with the mercy of Allah ta'ala.

During this month, some of us have shed tears of remorse and displayed regret over wasting time in the past and others have not taken heed. They have not show concern over their Hereafter, nor intended to rectify their life.

Allah ta'ala constantly opens the doors of His guidance so that one may be free from Hellfire. Every moment of Ramadan is valuable and the last ten days of Ramadan are the most precious.

The purpose of every worship, whether it is compulsory or voluntary, is that there is mutual love developed between Allah ta'ala and His servant. Those who have developed the love for Allah ta'ala, their status is unique and they are elevated in the eyes of Allah ta'ala. In Ahadith, it is mentioned regarding such people, that they possess no external riches or wealth. They lead simple and straightforward lives, however, in the eyes of Allah ta'ala they hold a very high status.

They may be inferior in society because the worldly standards are measured by wealth. Those who are downtrodden in society are ignored. On the other hand, those who are wealthy are respected and given priority even if they gained their wealth unlawfully.

However, Allah ta'ala's basis of recognition is different. The simple people are so great that when they lift their hands Allah ta'ala accepts their supplications and does not leave them empty handed.

The pious people are very much acquainted with how to earn in the world, however, they desire to attain that treasure which fulfils their purpose of life. They do not take one breath without spending it for the sake of Allah ta'ala. No moment of theirs passes being negligent from the dhikr of Allah ta'ala.

We perform various acts of worship desiring to attain Allah ta'ala's love, yet, through the act of dhikr, Allah ta'ala Himself makes the dhaakir His beloved. Such an individual's deen and dunya are taken care of automatically. Allah ta'ala makes both easy for such a person.

If you are sinful and want a shortcut, perform repentance and then immerse yourself in the dhikr of Allah ta'ala. In return, Allah ta'ala will take responsibility of your life problems and difficulties. He will make you His beloved as through dhikr, a person draws closer to Allah ta'ala. You are not required to perform extra voluntary acts or perform hard work alongside dhikr. Rather, we should be steadfast upon our dhikr.

The womenfolk lead busy lives, taking care of the home alongside raising the children, however, they are also able to remember Allah ta'ala in abundance.

The real enjoyment is to bear many difficulties for the sake of Allah ta'ala. One who achieves this, may seem like he is in difficulty, however, the one who strives to fulfil his mission of life is never in pain or difficulty.

Our objective of life is to love of Allah ta'ala and earn His love. We should shun every other mission in this world as everything else is temporary. We should love Allah ta'ala who is everlasting. To attain this purpose Allah ta'ala has given us the unique worship of dhikr. The pious predecessors attained their ranks due to the constant dhikr they performed during their lives. They did not perform any worship in excess besides dhikr. They took hold of this action through which the love of Allah ta'ala is attained.

Nabi ﷺ himself, is an example of this. He did not perform prayers every hour of the day or perform a specific deed which was repetitive. He did not fast during the night. However, Hadhrat Aishah Radiyallaha Anha narrates that Nabi ﷺ never ceased to perform dhikr. He performed dhikr during every second and every moment of his life.

Those who are occupied in other deeds and acts of worship, may gain status and Paradise through them. However, they are deprived of having earnt the love of Allah ta'ala as this is gained through dhikr. With love, a person lives with enjoyment in the world. There is much more to attain in this world if we desire it.

Dhikr of Allah ta'ala is a delicate path of mutual love and we have selected it solely to attain His love and affection. It is so beloved to Allah ta'ala and no act of worship can compare to it. Those who dislike dhikr and distance themselves from it, will never attain the love of Allah ta'ala. If we wish to become dear to Allah ta'ala, we should perform dhikr and also love those who perform dhikr.

If we have opposition and malice in our heart for those who perform dhikr, then we are not actually performing dhikr. If we wish to increase our love for the WaliAllah and become close to him, we should engage in dhikr. This is because we are performing the action which is beloved to him. If we sit in his company, he will assist us and show us the path. He will take us along on the journey.

Through love, a person isn't under compulsion to perform. Rather, he is driven through determination and desire. Thus, we should increase our love for Allah ta'ala by engaging in dhikr. We should spend our time in dhikr with the intention of attaining Allah ta'ala's love and there should be no other purpose for dhikr.

In order to be in the constant state of dhikr, the womenfolk and menfolk must focus upon their heart with the name of Allah ta'ala. Even if the man is occupied in work and the woman is occupied in household and upbringing the children, their hearts remain focused upon Allah ta'ala and they should not be negligent. We must practice this action and then we will find our destination.

In reality, one achieves more and enjoys more by engaging in dhikr.

May Allah ta'ala grant us the ability to perform dhikr in abundance! Ameen
