Allah ta'ala has granted us this gathering after Asr with health, wellbeing and faith. This is through His generosity and His mercy. If we miss out, we will not be able to compensate for these moments.
All year long a person spends his time in laziness and sins. He disobeys Allah ta'ala and comes close to the brink of Hellfire. Allah ta'ala has given us this month to save us. Every moment of this month, Allah ta'ala invites us towards His forgiveness.
It is a huge blessing for a person to earn forgiveness from all his sins during this month. The greatest action during this month is to seek sincere forgiveness from the heart. Whoever attains this, has attained the entire Ramadan.
Nabi ﷺ stated that one should perform four actions in abundance during this month.
1) Seek forgiveness from Allah ta'ala in abundance.
2) Perform abundant dhikr.
3) Perform good deeds in order to attain Paradise and supplicate to Allah ta'ala for Paradise through our good deeds.
4) Perform actions through which one will be safeguarded from Hellfire and also supplicate to Allah ta'ala for protection from Hellfire.
This is the best formula to practice during Ramadan. We have thousands of problems living in this world. The foolish person is he who seeks Paradise in this world. In reality, we will only gain rest and ease in Paradise.
Allah ta'ala has prepared a solution for us in order for us to stay safe, combat difficulties and avoid becoming deviated. Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه narrated in Ahmad Shareef that Nabi ﷺ stated that one should be immersed in the remembrance of Allah ta'ala after the prayer of Asr and after the prayer of Fajr. This is the greatest deed one can perform during these moments.
If we take hold of this formula, we will be safe from laziness, we will be able to withstand our problems, have patience and remain focused upon Allah ta'ala. Thus, our problems will turn in to ease.
The Prophet ﷺ specified the time after Asr prayer. We are unaware of the wisdoms behind this time and how it will eliminate our difficulties. Our duty is to perform this action.
The morning time has its own virtues. The virtues of each part of the day are different and unique and they keep changing according to the time. Furthermore, Allah ta'ala has specified worship during certain portions of the day. If we worship during these apportioned times, we gain the impact and benefit of that action. We cannot perform it later. For example, we cannot pray Duhr prayer during the time of Fajr. Only Fajr prayer will grant us the blessings of performing Fajr.
The best way to perform this dhikr is to learn it from a Sheikh The dhikr that is prescribed to you from a Sheikh will cleanse your inner soul. The best time to perform this dhikr is after Asr. Muraqabah performed during this time, even if it is for a short duration, is also very beneficial. We should remain steadfast in performing these actions.
One moment of Muraqabah is greater than one hundreds years of worship because there is sincerity in Muraqabah and Allah ta'ala loves sincerity.
Muraqabah is a deed which only Allah ta'ala records and the angels are not aware of it. In the Hereafter, Allah ta'ala Himself will grant us the reward for it. We should perform Muraqabah after Asr and after Fajr. During these moments, the shift of the angels take place and they take up the report to Allah ta'ala informing Him that so and so person was engaged in dhikr after person. Such a person will be granted dhikr upon his tongue when departing this world and he will be granted the mercy of Allah ta'ala.
Shaytan causes one to lose hope and fall in to despair. This is why one gives up practicing the deen and does not know who to turn to. Shaytan will also try to make us feel lazy during these two golden moments as he knows that this action will grant us success. He will try to divert us and make us heedless. We should strive to keep focused. We should remember that Allah ta'ala never abandons His servant who has faith.
The reason for our loss and distress is due to abandoning the dhikr of Allah ta'ala. If a person engages in dhikr during these two moments, Allah ta'ala becomes responsible for the time in between and He will protect us from our sorrows and problems. Allah ta'ala becomes responsible for our affairs and He allows us to pass all our challenges due to implementing His instructions.
Our faith has dropped so low that we don't have certainty in this Hadith. We have been prescribed this action, so we should perform it because there is great success in dhikr. Dhikr generates the love of Allah ta'ala. If a person has this love, then all his actions will be implemented with the love of Allah ta'ala.
We do not taste the fruits of our deeds because our faith is weak. Therefore, we do not gain the enjoyment from our deeds.
Those who spend their lives in dhikr, their faith is strong and they experience enjoyment in practicing deeds. They strive to engage in more worship because they experience the true taste of Imaan. They don't complain regarding worship. They enjoy praying Tahajjud. We should perform dhikr so that we can also receive the taste of our deeds and gain satisfaction.
We may not be able to change our problems, however, we can ask Allah ta'ala for the power to withstand and persevere upon the challenges He grants us. In such a way, we will not feel afraid and we will be content. Rather, we will be grateful to Allah ta'ala for our circumstances despite our problems. In return, Allah ta'ala will assist us and we will be unaware of where the help has arrived from.
Let us make an intention to sit in dhikr and let us ask Allah ta'ala for help in this. We should learn dhikr from a Sheikh so we may gain further benefit. This is the blessing of Ramadan that one implements this Hadith and gains Allah ta'ala's support in return.
