Bayan Episode 14 - Which Deed Should We Do on the Second Asharah?

We should be grateful that Allah ta'ala has allowed us to enter the second ten days of Ramadan. When we are grateful for His bounties, Allah ta'ala multiplies and grants us more. We should recite 'Alhamdulillah' for our blessings in order to show our gratitude. This is a great Kalimah.

If we spend these ten days correctly, it means we have truly shown gratitude to Allah ta'ala.

Allah ta'ala's orders are never difficult for a person of Imaan. It only becomes difficult when our base desires present the orders to be difficult otherwise, Allah ta'ala's orders are for one's ease and comfort and to envelope us in His mercy and lead us to Paradise.

However, our desires are always in opposition to the orders of Allah ta'ala and it prevents us from practicing.
Shariah gives us permission to be exempt from practicing certain orders due to valid excuses. Shariah dictates how a person may compensate for these actions. Humility demands that if Allah ta'ala orders an instruction yet, you are not capable of fulfilling it, or you're excused in the moment, then, that person who fulfils the instruction, will be given more reward as opposed to the one who delays and rejects the commands.

There are some who are excused, yet, they believe that they will be more rewarded for still fulfilling that action. However, if we compensate for the deed according to Shariah and we are excused to practice the actual deed, then Allah ta'ala will grant us the same reward. One does not receive more reward by pushing himself to perform it.

We require a guide who may inform us whether we are truly exempt from practicing or we are simply following our desires. If one follows the instructions of Allah ta'ala, he will earn forgiveness and salvation.

Ramadan has come to remind us of the grave. During this third of Ramadan we must aim to please Allah ta'ala and we should not depart Ramadan without attaining His pleasure.

What is the best way to please Allah ta'ala?
To seek His forgiveness. The method of seeking forgiveness is to make sincere repentance. This is not achieved by merely performing Istighfar by the tongue.

Rather, repentance has three conditions.
1) Displaying regret over the sin.
2) Acknowledging the sin and promising not to repeat the sin.
3) To stop the habit of sin
After repenting, we should not fear repeating the sin, as Allah ta'ala will forgive us again and again limitlessly. One may repent alone, however, his desires will cause him to slip.

If we wish to repent properly, we should make a waliAllah the witness to our repentance and Allah ta'ala has recommended this method in the Quran. This is the best way to repent as one will always be in the duas of the waliAllah and protected from sins. Shaytan will not attack his imaan if he repented through a Sheikh.

When we repent in such a way, it means we have repented from our heart and our heart has become pure. Such a person will feel at peace and contentment. His greed for the world and worry for materialistic things will disappear. He will rely upon Allah ta'ala and he will give up wasteful talk and criticism. A person is quickly impacted positively by his sincere forgiveness. His life transforms and his concern is to act upon the Quran. He accepts wrong and right and he does not seek loopholes in the deen. A person who repents in Ramadan will have his sins converted in to good deeds.

We should repent ourselves and then enable our friends and relatives to do so too. If we invite others to repentance, the doors of Paradise will be opened for us and these ten days of Ramadan will become illuminated for us.

We should have high hopes in Allah ta'ala. Not only will He forgive us, He will admit us in to Paradise. There is no one more wretched than a person who was granted Ramadan, yet, he did not attain forgiveness.

During these days we should repent, because without repentance we won't be forgiven and without forgiveness we cannot be given rewards for our action. We must promise to uphold His commands and obey His instructions.

Whoever delays forgiveness, he will not change and he will never achieve anything because his sins have not been reduced.

Hadhrat Umar رضي الله عنه narrates that whoever has faith and he implements the Quran, the Quran will drag him in to Paradise.

Some people have a connection with the Quran. When they recite it, Allah ta'ala surrounds them in His mercy and the Quran seeks forgiveness for them. On the other hand, when some begin reciting the Quran, the Quran sends curse upon them and leads them to Hellfire.

Allah ta'ala has placed mercy in the Quran and it has the cure to every disease, yet, we do not take both from the Quran. If we practice upon the Quran, we would develop a strong connection with it. We would enjoy reciting it, as the mercy would be descending upon us.

When we recite the Quran, we should assess whether we are being cursed by the Quran or receiving mercy, as the Quran can either take a person towards Hellfire or Paradise.

The Quran provides the outcome according to the state of the reciter. Those who implement the Quran, receive the mercy of Allah ta'ala when they recite the verses of mercy. Those who fail to implement the Quran are cursed when they recite the verses of punishment and wrath.

We should make a promise not to lie otherwise, the Quran will send curse upon our every action.

Those who sit in the dhikr gatherings will be forgiven. The companions asked Nabi ﷺ regarding which is the best gathering to attend. Nabi ﷺ stated that it was those gatherings in which Allah ta'ala is remembered.

These are the best gathering which we must attend with the intention of correcting ourselves and becoming a better person. These gatherings offer great protection. Such people who attend these gatherings, do not think about evil things and their minds are not polluted. Their hearts are not wretched.

In reality, these gatherings cause a person's heart to be rectified. If we take up bad company and sit in immoral gatherings, our minds become polluted.

Dhikr is the action which connects a person to Allah ta'ala and enables him to become closer to Him. It allows one to become friends with Allah ta'ala and concern and love for Allah ta'ala will be developed. If we wish to protect ourselves and our children from this dirty environment we are living in, we should take the protection of Allah ta'ala's dhikr and we will be protected.

Those who have the awareness and concern for the Hereafter, seek the light from these gatherings. Those who are drowned in materialism, know nothing besides acquiring wealth.

We often base our decisions of life on temporary worldly things. Allah ta'ala reassures us that no matter where we travel across the globe, our sustenance will arrive to us. If we seek to earn more, we will lose out. Rather, we should rely upon Allah ta'ala for our expenses as He has taken responsibility for it.

These middle days of Ramadan are very important. If we waste these days, we have lost out on the first and last ten days of Ramadan. If we spend these ten days correctly, we will receive the first and last ten days of Ramadan too.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
