Jewels of Ramadhan 2025 - Episode 1

Allah ta'ala has placed an objective behind everything. We should try to attain the objective of Ramadan and understand its purpose as well as make an effort to acquire the objective.

The objective of Ramadan is to obey Allah ta'ala's instructions - to live our life obeying Allah ta'ala and His messenger ﷺ. This is what grants one success.

Unfortunately, we have become deviated and lazy due to the negligence of the world. We may not reject outright, however, we have become overwhelmed with laziness.

If we desire success in the Hereafter, we must live our lives according to Allah ta'ala's instructions whilst imitating the way of the Prophet ﷺ. We face problems in life due to our disobedience to Allah ta'ala. If we adopt Nabi ﷺ as our role model, our life will become Paradise and the distress and pain of life will be eliminated.

We have been given this month to recharge our faith and strengthen it. When faith is weak the love of the world overtakes a person and he becomes stressed due to worldly gains. Our faith must be increased to the point where we realise that Allah ta'ala's obedience is necessary.

We strive to spend our time cautiously during Ramadan, we try to refrain from sin, we ensure to pray in congregation, we strive to perform good actions during the day and night, we adhere to the Sunnah and we suppress our desires. This is the methodology we live by during Ramadan and this month is a reminder to us that we should live our lives according to the way we have adjusted ourselves to this month. Allah ta'ala is reminding us that we should recharge ourselves throughout the year and not just in Ramadan.

We must strengthen and update our faith. This is the purpose of Ramadan and we should have ongoing concern to charge our faith during this month.

How to charge our faith?
Allah ta'ala grants us the solution free of charge, however, we must have a demand for it and develop a desire to strengthen our deen. It is not difficult to practice, so we should not make excuses as we used to. After adopting the desire to practice, we must seek help from Allah ta'ala.

The way to charge our faith is through the dhikr of Allah ta'ala. We should make a target to begin obeying Allah ta'ala and emulating the Prophet ﷺ and dhikr is what will enable us to achieve this. Our faith will be improved through embracing this target and we will be successful in our journey.

If we are not following the deen according to the method of Rasulullah ﷺ, it means we are weak and we must strengthen ourselves with the resource given by Allah ta'ala which is dhikr.

A person receives the reward for a hundred martyrs for each Sunnah that is implemented. If we fail to implement, we are ignorant and foolish to waste these great rewards. Such a person perhaps does not believe in Allah ta'ala. Thus, he is a waste.

Nabi ﷺ said that he prefers to sacrifice the entire world and whatever it contains to sit with the group sat in the congregation of dhikr during Asr time until the sun sets. That is more beloved to him than the entire world.

If we love Nabi ﷺ, we should have the same preference as him. This is the greatest wealth and the time of Asr has been stipulated for the dhikr of Allah ta'ala. This is the time to loot the treasures!

Allah ta'ala has made us occupied in His dhikr and this is the day of Ramadan and the angels of Ramadan are amongst us. We should make an intention and promise today not to cut our beards. We should abandon sins and adopt the Sunnah. If we repent today, the womenfolk observe purdah, the menfolk keep a Sunnah beard, Allah ta'ala will make us a WaliAllah and we will depart Ramadan like this.

We must intend to adopt a Sunnah which we had previously abandoned. The more we promise to adhere to it, the more reward we will attain and become the beloved of Nabi ﷺ.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
