Ramadhan is Here

No other month has great preparation prior to it like Ramadan. This is the sign of the greatness of Ramadan. We shouldn't consider it a normal month like the other months. This unique month holds benefit for the Ummah so that we don't fall in to laziness and ignorance.

What is the reality of Ramadan?
This month is so precious. If we waste any second of this month, we cannot bring it back again and we will face great loss. Through the blessings of this month, Allah ta'ala removes His servants from Hellfire. If a sinner controls himself during this month, he will be given the glad tidings of Paradise.

Allah ta'ala hasn't commanded us to leave our businesses during this month. Rather, He has commanded us to not disobey Him. This is the purpose and the biggest worship of this month. Whoever spends this month without sinning is successful.
Allah ta'ala wishes to enter us in to Paradise directly without being held accountable for our sins. This can only happen when we protect ourselves from Allah ta'ala's disobedience.

Some may be exempt from fasting, however, they should still perform the worship through which they will attain Ramadan and that is to avoid sinning. This is the soul of Ramadan and it is compulsory upon everyone, whether they are fasting or not.

Allah ta'ala calls us to prayer through the medium of the Muadhin yet, we neglect this call and present excuses in order to avoid attending the congregation. In reality, responding to the call of adhan is proof that we are Muslim. Nothing must stop us from performing prayers as this is our duty being His Servant.

We should follow the instructions of Allah ta'ala blindly and without seeking proof. This is the servitude Allah ta'ala desires. We must believe in Him without seeing Him and without proof and such belief grants us a high rank.

Ramadan is an example of this. We are not in need of any wisdom or reasoning behind fasting during Ramadan. We simply accept it as Allah ta'ala's order and we are not in need of proof or scientific backing.

Fasting does not diminish one's strength and energy. Rather, through fasting one receives more vigour and strength.

We must strengthen our belief in Allah ta'ala and we must continue doing this throughout our life. We are only required to fulfil the compulsory actions and not the voluntary, although voluntary acts of worship make us draw nearer to Allah ta'ala and grants us promotion. The real essence of life is not to disobey Allah ta'ala and this causes a person to enter Paradise.

Ramadan is preparing us for Paradise through protecting us from disobedience. Whoever controls himself in the morning and evening, he has completed one fast.

The glory of a believer is that he spends every day of his life like Ramadan. He refrains from disobedience and emulates the Sunnah and performs dhikr as he does every other day. Our lives should be spent in the same way inside and outside of Ramadan.

Everyone must enhance themselves during this month. Those who are weak, must refrain from sins. Those who are pious and already worshipping, must seek to attain a higher status during Ramadan.

If we perform voluntary actions during Ramadan, we will gain the reward of fulfilling one compulsory action through the mercy of Allah ta'ala. If we perform a compulsory action during this month, it is multiplied seventy times for us.

We should pull ourselves together and make an effort during this month. We have been given a great opportunity to stack up on reward! We should focus less upon our worldly affairs and worldly problems during this month and instead we should become greedy for the Hereafter. We should make a schedule for Ramadan and take annual leave or apply for days off to focus upon this month as we may not receive another Ramadan. This is the style of those who love Allah ta'ala.

Allah ta'ala’s rewards and mercy are raining down upon us during this month so we should take advantage of fulfilling the voluntary actions alongside the compulsory. We should intend to avoid disobedience and sin during this month.

How should we welcome Ramadan?
It is Sunnah to become happy in welcoming this month. Another Sunnah is to supplicate to Allah ta'ala seeking the blessings of Ramadan before it arrives.

During Ramadan, we should not take a single breath without utilising it to earn the Hereafter. This shows a person's true greediness for the Hereafter and sincere happiness in welcoming Ramadan.

No moment of Ramadan should pass in which a good deed is not being performed. We may tire in reciting Quran, so by performing abundant dhikr we are utilising every single one of our breath to perform a good deed. We should engage in dhikr with every second. In doing so, we will earn a high grade good deed and nothing can compare to this. We must learn dhikr from a Sheikh and perform that dhikr which does not cease.

We must engage in dhikr morning and evening and attend all three gatherings during this month. This is a great blessing so we should remove our laziness and be grateful to Allah ta'ala. We should value these gatherings because they can be taken from us.

We must detach ourselves from the world, reduce our working hours and imitate whatever our Sheikh is doing.
Whoever desires to make his heart alive should learn dhikr from the Sheikh. In this way, the heart will be in the constant state of dhikr.

If we desire to attain Ramadan, we must learn the dhikr of the heart. Welcome Ramadan in such a way that you are preparing for it before it arrives.

The angels seek those who are sat remembering Allah ta'ala. When they come across them, they descend immediately and call out. Thereafter, other angels swoop down to join them. The angels join the dhikr gathering and they enjoy the kalimaat being recited. They rejoice and even fall unconscious. Then they present their reports to Allah ta'ala and Allah ta'ala enjoys hearing about those who love Him.

Allah ta'ala will enquire about the condition of those believers who were remembering Him and what they were seeking from Him despite knowing everything. The angels will mention the condition of the believers and inform Allah ta'ala that they were seeking Paradise and refuge from Hellfire despite not seeing these abodes. Thereafter, Allah ta'ala makes the angels a witness to their forgiveness.

Those who partake in the gatherings without an intention will also be forgiven. This is how valuable these gatherings are! Allah ta'ala accepts all those who attend because He loves the gatherings of His remembrance.

If we sit in the three gatherings during Ramadan, Allah ta'ala will make this announcement for us for thirty days.

We should loot His treasures during this month. We should restrict and confine ourselves during this month and cut down on socialising. We should detach ourselves from the world so that we can focus solely upon Allah ta'ala.

We should have love for dhikr because it means we have love for Allah ta'ala and He will love us in return. This is the welcoming of Ramadan.
We should make an intention and a promise to Allah ta'ala that we will refrain from sin and adopt Taqwa. Performing voluntary worship such a Taraweeh is just a bonus on top.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
