In this generation of ignorance, we are fortunate to be given the ability to practice the deen which removes the ignorance and negligence.
When one forgets Allah ta'ala's bounties and is immersed in disobedience, he considers the acts of worship to be insignificant. Shaytan presents good deeds as minor and elevates the sins. Thus, we should be grateful to Allah ta'ala for granting us this opportunity to remember Him.
Sustenance and family are a means to achieve our objective and they support our journey, however, the main objective of life is achieving the nearness to Allah ta'ala. We should assess how much we have tried to achieve the true objective of life.
The foolish person is he who doesn't live according to his purpose. Such a person will never be successful. He is like the similitude of the one who owns a shop but fails to open it.
Until we make effort to attain our objective, we will not attain it. Such a person who fails to keep his objective in mind, will face a difficult afterlife.
Whilst we are occupied in this world, we should constantly remind ourselves of our objective no matter what we face in life. This is how we will become successful and we will earn the deen and the dunya. If we only chase the world, we simply attain nothing. Instead, we should keep a balance.
Many of us desire death to gain satisfaction and ease from this world, however, the real test begins after death. On a daily basis, we should assess how much we have earned for the Hereafter and how much we have earned for the world.
We should not deceive ourselves by passing our time uselessly. We should pass our time productively and aim to attain His nearness. We often pray and then supplicate to Allah ta'ala for worldly things, however, we forget about attaining His nearness.
We should draw near to Allah ta'ala through our deeds, because in reality, we cannot attain His nearness without practicing righteous deeds. Thinking otherwise is a huge deception and a means of failure for an individual. The more we draw close to Him, the higher status we will earn in the Hereafter and the higher grade of Paradise we will receive.
The basis of our love for the Prophet ﷺ is not through weeping. Rather, we become true lovers through our practice. We should not hold on to false hopes that he will intercede for us despite our lack of actions. This is a huge deception. Even the noble Sahabah were enabled to practice the deen.
We must earn Allah ta'ala's nearness via the method which Allah ta'ala has prescribed and we won't attain His nearness until we perform good deeds.
The pious people were elevated due to their deeds. They worshiped in abundance, day and night and despite that, they didn't have hope upon their deeds. They are the ones who are truly deserved of intercession. We have nothing to our names and are reliant upon Allah ta'ala's mercy. Allah ta'ala is surely merciful and we will be successful, however, we must make effort first otherwise we are in deception.
Allah ta'ala supports us in the world in order to draw nearer to Him. We should utilise our blessings for the sake of remembering Allah ta'ala. This should be our objective. For example, we should use our cars to hasten towards His worship.
Prayer is the greatest action which draws a person closer to Allah ta'ala. Before praying, we should intend to pray to achieve Allah ta'ala's nearness through it so that can find enjoyment in prostration.
Nabi ﷺ advised a companion to perform abundant prostration and it will deliver him to Paradise. Through prostration, our previous sins are forgiven and we become elevated. We should supplicate to Allah ta'ala during prostration as it is a posture whereby we are closest to Allah ta'ala. It is unfortunate that we rush our prayers whilst thousands of diseases are eliminated through prostration.
The reward of Allah ta'ala's nearness equals Paradise. The more we attain His nearness, the higher level we will attain in Paradise. If we don't make an effort, we will regret it in the afterlife so we should not waste time.
Regarding the AwliyahAllah, Allah ta'ala states,
"...When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks...." [Hadith Qudsi]
Righteous deeds are the means to attain His closeness and thereafter, Allah ta'ala grants us the sight and hearing through which we see and listen. We can all achieve this if we start practicing righteous deeds.
Awliyah Allah never claim to be pious, however, they become pious due to their deeds. Allah ta'ala accepts their supplications even before their hands are lowered.
Such people become illuminated as they attained the objective of life. They assigned themselves to Allah ta'ala completely and constantly performed righteous deeds and dhikr. Thus, they were taken to the heights.
Allah ta'ala invites us to keep coming closer to Him in order to achieve a high level nearness. His nearness is expansive and unlimited and we cannot achieve His nearness through one prayer which is why we have been given voluntary prayers and fasting. Prayers will grant us a high status and nearness to Allah ta'ala but it is limited to how much one performs. When the deeds stop, the nearness stops. On the other hand, Allah ta'ala's nearness is limitless so we can always achieve more through the act of dhikr.
We are occupied in the worldly things which is why we have been granted the action of dhikr. It is an act which remains ongoing and constantly takes a person closer to Allah ta'ala. Whoever fails to achieve His nearness is a failure.
Dhikr never stops in getting you close to Allah ta'ala. It has no boundary. The more you engage in dhikr, the more closer you become to Allah ta'ala and you become immersed in light. Thus, we shouldn't consider this deed insignificant. We should remain busy in dhikr.
Dhikr of the heart is the higher quality dhikr which is the most beneficial. We should visit a Sheikh to learn this form of dhikr. This is the way to make our hearts alive. With muraqabah, every moment our ranks are increased.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
