In various places in the Quran, Allah ta'ala has commanded the believers to remember Allah ta'ala. Allah ta'ala's wisdom is present in this instruction. A person should not only suffice on the obligatory worship.
No morning or evening of ours should pass without the remembrance of Allah ta'ala. Despite having Masaajid and Quran, disputes and depression is widespread amongst us. The evil and attraction to sin are increasing. We imitate those who have no deen and we are happy abandoning the path of the Prophet ﷺ.
Abandoning Allah ta'ala's commands are the cause of our illnesses. The importance of dhikr has been diminished from our lives and Shaytan has buried this part of our deen so that we do not fulfil the completion of worship.
The pious predecessors had nothing, yet they relied upon Allah ta'ala and spread His name. They went through painstaking efforts to perform the work of deen.
My Sheikh never passed his life without establishing the gatherings of dhikr. He didn't do this to become pious, rather he sought to fulfil the commands of Allah ta'ala.
Today, we are trapped in darkness, which refers to oppression and innovation, imitating those who have who have no deen and drowning in materialism. If we engage in dhikr, Allah ta'ala removes us from this even if we are the greatest of sinners.
There is immense benefits in the action. When we implement dhikr, Allah ta'ala and His angels send mercy upon us. Through dhikr, our life and Hereafter are improved. This is a beautiful prescription which we can adopt today.
We complain that our children have become deviated and are beyond our control. However, if we perform dhikr in our homes it serves as protection and such homes in which dhikr takes place, will shine like the moon. The inhabitants of the heavens look down upon them in awe. Our wives and children will become rectified, they will learn modesty and implement the deen.
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا
"O believers! Always remember Allah often.." [33:41]
We should engage in dhikr in abundance. There any many evils in the world and our hearts have become dark. The more the generation progresses, the more Shayateen are becoming stronger. Depression is so widespread and it is because we don’t pay attention towards the beneficial things. We become complacent by our prayers.
The dhikr of Allah ta'ala cannot be limited to a certain number. Allah ta'ala desires that we remain in constant state of dhikr, lying, sitting and standing.
Very few of us engage in dhikr like this and it is actually the cause of our ruin. We don't understand our sickness and neither our cure.
We follow our own desires and we engage in dhikr as we please. We should fulfil Allah ta'ala's commands of performing dhikr all the time.
The right of being Allah ta'ala's servant is that we should not distance ourselves from His connection. Every moment we should be focused upon Allah ta'ala. We are being deviated from the real objective of life by the evils.
The tongue tires of remembering Him. Thus, we are ordered to learn the dhikr of the heart at the hands of a Wali Allah. Once we have learnt it, the heart becomes alive. We must pay attention to our heart and it will automatically remember Allah ta'ala and it will alert us when you are heedless.
Learn dhikr and Allah ta'ala will fulfil your worldly tasks. He will save you from evil and sins. He will protect you from physical sicknesses. He will grant you wealth and earnings. Allah ta'ala and His angels send mercy upon the dhaakir who engage in dhikr during the two ends of the day.
Assign your morning and evenings for Allah ta'ala. The angels observe who is remembering Allah ta'ala and then they change their shift after reporting what they witnessed. Allah ta'ala announces forgiveness for the dhaakir each time he sits in the gathering of dhikr.
As soon as we utter something good or bad, the angels record our deed. However, the angels are unaware of our silent dhikr we perform. On the day of Qiyamah, Allah ta'ala Himself will reward the servant for his silent dhikr as this is an action known between the servant and Allah ta'ala only. This is how great this action is!
