How do we Please Allah Ta'ala?

The believers are those who have belief, knowledge, practice and worship. They are those who remember Allah ta'ala and invite others to deen. Through their actions, they seek the pleasure of Allah ta'ala. This is their lifelong goal. All their actions are performed with this objective no matter where they are in the world. The region, the environment and the climate they live in, does not impact their condition. They represent themselves as true believers wherever they go and their quality of worship remains the same. This is because true believers live according to principles and they act for the sake of Allah ta'ala. They express pleasure and anger only for the sake of Allah ta'ala and they give and take for His sake.

The second group of people are those who worship and perform the same actions, however, their objective is to please the world. They make excuses and find loopholes in practicing the deen. They live according to the current environment and their practice keeps changing. They can not be true believers and Allah ta'ala will never be happy with such people.

We should assess and question whether our actions are performed with the objective of attaining Allah ta'ala's pleasure. We may have our intentions concealed, but we will have to account to Allah ta'ala in the end. He is aware of our wrongdoing and sinning no matter where we are in the world.

Allah ta'ala is also aware of the desperate desire of the heart to please Him and He rewards such individuals for their sincerity.

"Whoever loves for the sake of Allah, hates for the sake of Allah, gives for the sake of Allah, and withholds for the sake of Allah has perfected the faith.” [Abu Dawud Shareef]

We should do what pleases Allah ta'ala without being concerned about pleasing people. We shouldn't fall in to sin and follow the latest trends just because other people are doing it. This is not the standard of a believer.

The true believer is he who follows the orders and instructions of Allah ta'ala even if he practices alone. He lives his life according to Allah ta'ala's obedience and pleasure no matter his position and the situation around him. People may mock him and he may face difficulties in his life, but he perseveres. He is the most valuable in the eyes of Allah ta'ala.

If a person performs optional prayers and fasts and doesn't pray in congregation due to being occupied in his own worship, we consider him pious and close to Allah ta'ala. This is our criteria for piety.

In reality, this person is destined for Hellfire. Such a person is pleasing the people of the world and his own desires. He wishes respect from the people. He is not fulfilling the criteria set by Allah ta'ala which is to imitate the role model He sent. If we truly wish to acquire the pleasure of Allah ta'ala and be successful in life, then we must imitate Nabi ﷺ.

If a person doesn't attend the congregation for prayer at the time of adhan, Allah ta'ala curses him. He may be given wealth and progression of the world, whilst his family abandon prayers, however, this is a punishment given to him after which Allah ta'ala will not grant him a chance to repent, unless he visits a wali Allah. Such a person can never depart the world with faith. His household shouldn't cooperate with him. If his family praise him, make excuses for him and support him, then they are also devoid.

Whatever a person leaves congregation for, is cursed and will lead him to perform evil actions. One should do what it takes even if it means remaining awake the entire night in order to join the congregation. He should fight with his desires to attend the prayer in congregation.

We shouldn't cooperate with sinners and have affection and love for them, even if it is our children who abandon prayer. If we assist a sinner, we become like the sinner and haven't fulfilled the rights of Allah ta'ala.

Wealth isn't the criteria of success. The true believer is he who follows the true deen sent by Allah ta'ala. He won't live a life of luxury and comfort and he will face difficulties, he may face destitution and his business may not flourish. However, his actions are in accordance to Allah ta'ala's pleasure.

Allah ta'ala is pleased when the believers' every action is dependant upon Allah ta'ala's pleasure. Allah ta'ala won't send us to Paradise for living a life of ease and recognition from people in this world. It will be difficult to practice and work hard but this is where the success lies.

Unfortunately, we live according to our desires. We worship whenever we feel like. We have no system or schedule of life for attaining Allah ta'ala's pleasure.

In reality, we will never face any loss in our life when we live according to the sake of Allah ta'ala. The tests we face will become the reason for our elevation.

Those who live for Allah ta'ala's pleasure seek His nearness every moment and they are always close to Allah ta'ala. They are always under His Mercy and Grace. This is because they make constant effort. Such people will be destined for Paradise.

Those who run after the pleasure of the world are cursed. They lives a life of deception and soon their business and assets will be destroyed. Shaytan has trapped them and they will be destined for Hellfire.

From today, we should intend to live our life for the sake of Allah ta'ala. In doing so, we won't be concerned with materialism and we will not be inclined towards sin and earning Allah ta'ala's disobedience. The alcohol and women we abstain from in this world, we will receive in Paradise. This world will soon end, so we should not sacrifice ourselves for the sake of the world.

The world runs after the one who abandons it for the sake of pleasing Allah ta'ala. The creation of Allah ta'ala will serve him and his worldly needs will be fulfilled.

To please the world is a form of destruction. This world will never be satisfied with a person who is set out to please Allah ta'ala as they are two opposite forces.

In reality, the world may not cooperate with you and your family may be against you, however, Allah ta'ala is pleased with you for practicing.

When you intend to please Allah ta'ala through your actions, Allah ta'ala will assist you. He will wake you up for Fajr and He will send angels to protect you. This is because you are a special servant of Allah ta'ala for having the purpose of pleasing Him. Allah ta'ala will increase your ranks and make you a Wali Allah.
The method of attaining Allah ta'ala's closeness is to abstain from sins. To leave an invitation of sin and to leave a wrong for the sake of Allah ta'ala is much greater than worship and it elevates a person's ranks.

Allah ta'ala will develop our hearts once we develop sincerity. We should accept our deficiencies and thereafter Allah ta'ala will assist us. If we wish to become a believer who pleases Allah ta'ala, but we are trapped in the world, then we should develop such a heart which weeps and fears Allah ta'ala. This is because it is our heart which is ruining us. Without fear of Allah ta'ala, we cannot develop the concern of seeking His pleasure.

Such a person who has true fear is cautious over all his actions. He never remains satisfied with his condition and his heart does not allow him to rest. It takes years to develop the heart through dhikr but once it is developed, it removes a person from unlawful things and it eradicates the love of the world from a persons heart.

Dhikr is like a medicine, however, you must exercise caution in your life alongside. Those who live like this are the biggest Awliyah Allah of this time.

We should visit the Sheikh and take bay'ah and learn dhikr from him. We should learn how to leave the sins too, otherwise we will not be successful. Dhikr and other forms of worship are means to please Allah ta'ala. The end result of dhikr should be that it rectifies a person and takes him towards the pleasure of Allah ta'ala. If a student commits wrongdoing alongside dhikr, he will not benefit.

When the heart is rectified, then a person's faith is increased upon the recitation of the Quran and His reliance upon Allah ta'ala is also increased.

The true believer is who lives to attain His Lords pleasure. His thought process is to attain the pleasure of Allah ta'ala. He never commits sins. To achieve this position we must correct our hearts through dhikr otherwise we cannot reach the rank of the true believer.

If we begin to live like this and make effort today, Allah ta'ala will grant us high ranks out of His Grace. Whoever dies without the pleasure of Allah ta'ala, will be punished in the grave.

Before performing any action, we should reflect whether it will cause Allah ta'ala's pleasure or displeasure. Deen is easy so we should have courage.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
