The Main Reason for Going to Jahannum

The traveller's journey is temporary and his sight is fixed upon his destination. We are also travellers in this world and our destination is the Hereafter. Nabi ﷺ commanded us to remember death abundantly so that we do not forget our destination. If we are constantly reminded of it, we will certainly prepare for it, otherwise we will become weak in our preparation.

Naturally, the more one flees from something, the more he fears that thing. When a person constantly remembers death, his fear of death is eliminated. In fact, he begins to anticipate it.

The purpose of the Quran is to prepare us for the Hereafter. If we are doubtful of the Quran, we will not be able to prepare for the Hereafter and confusion, disorder and ignorance will continue until Qiyamah.

How can we save ourselves from Hellfire?
We should not hold false confidence that we are guaranteed Paradise. Majority of people who will enter Hellfire will be those who were ignorant and negligent. They presented excuses such as laziness, in order to avoid fulfilling Allah ta'ala's commands. We must save ourselves from negligence and in this way we will be safe from Hellfire.

Who is a negligent person?
One who is lazy towards fulfilling Allah ta'ala's orders like prayer. He doesn't feel like worshipping. He will enter the lowest pit of Hellfire. Negligence destroys worship and that's why Hellfire will be filled with many people.

Allah ta'ala commands us to reflect over the Quran and analyse ourselves. The Quran is the greatest guidance and nothing can compare to it. We will be questioned as to how we utilised it

We have been commanded to pray in the mosque and we have no choice, as it is the order of Allah ta'ala. Prayer has such an effect that a person's true colour is shown by his prayer. If our prayer is correct, then the rest of our worship is correct. If one rejects prayer in congregation, he has no right to be an Imam. The Imam has some conditions that he must fulfil and his prayer is incomplete if he leaves congregation, doesn't follow the Sunnah and he lies and deceives.

What is the condition of a lazy person?
The heart of a believer is such a great organ and Allah ta'ala has instilled within it, the capacity of Allah ta'ala's connection and nearness.

When a believer utilises his heart correctly, it becomes the fountain of knowledge and recognition. This is the reality of the heart of a believer. The heart of a believer pulls upon the truth and absorbs the truth and the laws of Allah ta'ala. It is full of light. However, when the believer becomes negligent, all the qualities of his heart are diminished due to his laziness. His state declines and he has no recognition of Halaal and Haraam.

If there is no fear and awareness in the heart, it provides no benefit to a person. Such an individual will not distinguish and take heed of Halal and Haraam. No advice will penetrate his heart.

We should reflect over the state of our heart. Do we have modesty and a true understanding of deen? Do we feel afraid when we commit sins? Unfortunately, we fail to understand because our hearts are empty of characteristics and qualities.

There are valid excuses in Shariah whereby one is exempt of attending prayers in congregation. You are exempt when you are sick, but even if you are sick, you should still try to attend the masjid. If you are working for a non Muslim and he is stern, or you work in a remote location, or you are threatened by suspension and losing your job, you are prevented from the mosque, then you are permitted to pray on site. However, even in this case, you should still intend and search for a job which permits you to join the prayer congregation at mosque.

A person earns unlawful morsels through those earnings he acquires whilst abandoning prayer in congregation. This is Haraam and certainly he will witness the effects of these earnings. If he has the opportunity to pray at the mosque, then he has no excuse to abandon his prayer.

Those who abandon the congregation have diminished the qualities of their heart through their love for the world. Hellfire is destined for them and they are declared animals. If a person abandons the love of the world and leaves sins, Allah ta'ala will grant him a very high status.

We should blindly adhere to Allah ta'ala's orders and we shouldn’t worry about profit and loss in following His instructions, otherwise, we will be punished. The previous nations were destroyed as they tried to deceive Allah ta'ala and find loopholes in implementing His orders. The deen is straightforward and we shouldn’t contaminate it by playing games with Allah ta'ala.

Allah ta'ala has placed great impact in the actions of the Awliyah Allah. All of their limbs are enlightened and they possess the reality of vision. This is because they practice upon the laws of Allah ta'ala and have understood their purpose of life. They remain hungry and thirsty to avoid consuming Haraam. They don't lie as they have recognised the reality Allah ta'ala has given them.

If we understand our purpose in life and we search for the path and the solution, we will also receive the same light as they did. We shouldn’t give up and make excuses. We should have courage and make effort to avoid Haraam. In return, Allah ta'ala will shower us with His mercy. As soon we practice the deen correctly, Allah ta'ala will steer us towards the path to Paradise. We must not forget that each of us has this capacity within us.

Those who abandon prayers in congregation are like animals. They are immersed in the temporary world and nothing else. They have no other objective or concern. Animals follow their lust and desires and they don't know anything else. Similarly, we are also animals when we fail to adhere to Allah ta'ala's commands.

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ كَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰفِلُونَ

"They are like cattle - indeed, even more astray. Such are utterly heedless." [7:179]

In fact, Allah ta'ala considers these people worse than animals because Allah ta'ala has showered human beings with intelligence, wisdom, freedom and variety of foods. He overlooks our sins and despite that, we disobey Allah ta'ala and take the quality of the animals. Animals are not given much, but they are more understanding. They never disobey their Creator. They provide milk eggs and honey on demand. They are slaughtered upon demand and never reject, yet, we disobey Allah ta'ala morning and evening.

Allah ta'ala illuminates everything through His remembrance. We should hold firm upon dhikr as we gain Allah ta'ala's nearness through it.

"Allah has the Most Beautiful Names. So call upon Him by them, and keep away from those who abuse His Names. They will be punished for what they used to do." [7:180]

Allah ta'ala grants us the solution to be cured from negligence and laziness. The cure is to engage in the dhikr of Allah ta'ala. If we wish to be saved from animalistic characteristics, we must remember Him. Allah ta'ala will revive and illuminate our hearts. As soon as we engage in dhikr, our hearts are unlocked. This is because Allah has placed great effect in His dhikr.

In reality, He possesses many names, however, we cannot recognise the reality of even one of His names. Reciting His personal name carries a lot of power. The great achievement of the Naqshbandi order, is that it begins from the personal name of Allah ta'ala and this is what it teaches the students. Learning His personal name is a very powerful action and when the student engages in dhikr with a true heart and in the manner the Sheikh prescribes to him, the impact of that connection between the student and Allah ta'ala is unimaginable. Suddenly, that students life is transformed and improved.

No one is able to recite His personal name with the weight it carries such as His power and glory. However, Allah ta'ala instilled His personal name to Hadhrat Baha Uddin Naqshband Rahmatullahi alayh and He was given permission to teach this name to the students until Qiyamah. Allah ta'ala created the tolerance and capacity within the student to absorb the power of Allah ta'ala. This is what the student learns from the Sheikh.

If you commit shortcuts, cut your beard after learning Allah ta'ala's name, commit sins, leave prayers, after learning His personal name then you will receive severe punishment. We must attain Allah ta'ala's personal name in order to fight the corruption of Dajjaal.

The mosques were created for the remembrance of Allah ta'ala. Without it, the mosques remain empty. Those who mock dhikr and steer people away from those who engage in dhikr are the biggest oppressors and deserving of punishment. Deen continues with dhikr and if dhikr was stopped, then the entire world would become negligent.

The Wali Allah teaches dhikr to the people. Through dhikr, a person is enabled to pray, recite Quran, give zakat and the believer begins to practice the Sunnah. His dead heart is revived through dhikr. Dhikr is the means and not the objective. Dhikr on its own doesn't give a person benefit. Rather, the result of dhikr is what provides a person benefit.

If we wish to revive our hearts, be distanced from laziness and implement Allah ta'ala's instructions, then we must visit a Wali Allah and learn dhikr. This is the best solution in this day and age. The Naqshbandi order is the best school of teaching as it provides most impact and benefit for the believers. It provides salvation to the believer. In this day and age, to sit and have concern over Allah ta'ala's deen is an incomparable action. The Pious predecessors have given glad tidings to the students of this order.

The cure to laziness and negligence is dhikr so we should work hard upon this solution without turning back. We must keep trying and shun the sins alongside engaging in dhikr. We must make a promise to our teacher and fulfil them.

A true student is he who follows his Sheikh and he obeys his instructions. If he cuts his beard and abandons congregation, then he has no connection with his Sheikh.

It is inevitable to sin, however, we should confess our sins so that our Sheikh can make dua for us and we may repent. He will grant us a cure and some advice. We shouldn’t play games otherwise Allah ta'ala will transform us in to animals. We have taken up our Sheikh as a guide for this reason so that we can admit our sins and constantly try again after we fall.

Allah ta'ala may reveal our sins to the Sheikh so we should not hide our sins and try to trick him. Allah ta'ala has made the Sheikh our teacher and granted him the capacity to teach and guide the students. Thus, the person who deceives the Sheikh has tried to deceive Allah ta'ala.

Those who practice the deen with sincerity and for the sake of being rectified, will receive great rewards. They will be successful due to their efforts and not due to their results. Allah ta'ala opens the doors of Paradise for them.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
