The One With Light has Come

Allah ta'ala has spread blessings throughout this month. The method to be grateful to Allah ta'ala is to be occupied in His praise and remembrance.

There is great value attached to the good deeds we perform during this month because this is the month Nabi ﷺ was born. The angels record our actions and they are multiplied by ten times. If we sin, the angels delay recording it so that we may repent to Allah ta'ala.

قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا

"Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O humanity! I am Allah’s Messenger to you all." [7:158]

Nabi ﷺ was sent as a Messenger for the entire universe and he is recognised as a Messenger by the entire universe. This is his glory. The animals also had a connection with the Prophet ﷺ and they would present their problems to him.

Allah ta'ala could've addressed us directly in this verse, however, Allah ta'ala commands the Prophet ﷺ to deliver this message to us. By doing such, Allah ta'ala desires to see how much we love Nabi ﷺ through our obedience to him. This address is a challenge for the Ummah to determine their true love and be separated from the hypocrites.

In reality, every believer has love for the Prophet ﷺ and this is given to him by Allah ta'ala due to him possessing faith, thus, it is not due to his own achievement.

We have that love embedded within us due to the value of our faith and without it, we cannot be a believer.

Having said that - there are different stages of love. The proof of one's claim of love, is that he is obedient to his beloved. He will bear the struggles, he will sacrifice and overcome any hurdles out of his love. For example, the noble Sahabah رضي الله عنهم made great sacrifices due to their love for the Prophet ﷺ. They never presented excuses before him.

In reality, everything is achieved through love and love is what allows a person to progress towards his objective. If your love is false, you are a hypocrite and you will be exposed.

All Prophets demonstrated much love for Nabi ﷺ even before his arrival. After he was born, he was introduced to all the Prophets.

Nabi ﷺ's purpose and message was one - To save ourselves from the fire of Hell. Thus, we should strive for this purpose all lifelong. We should attain guidance by possessing faith in Allah ta'ala and saving ourselves from associating partners with Him. Nowadays, we have belief in Allah ta'ala, but we lack certainty.
If we develop certainty alongside faith, we will be saved.

فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ ٱلْأُمِّىِّ
"So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet.." [7:158]

This verse explains the magnificence of the Prophet ﷺ. He was taught every form of knowledge by Allah ta'ala. Usually the greater the teacher, the greater the student.

Here, Nabi ﷺ's teacher is Allah ta'ala Himself, so one can imagine the level of his knowledge. It is a shame that we argue and debate regarding the knowledge of the Prophet ﷺ whilst it has nothing to do with us. We argue with others and deviate over this fact, whilst Allah ta'ala is the one who provided the knowledge to the Prophet ﷺ.

ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ

"To Him ˹alone˺ belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth." [7:158]

Allah ta'ala elaborates that it is He who has sent the Prophet ﷺ and He is the owner of the heavens and the earth. Allah ta'ala doesn’t consider Nabi ﷺ to be the Lord. In reality, Allah ta'ala is the greatest and wherever His kingdom is, Nabi ﷺ's Prophethood will reach. Wherever Allah ta'ala's name appears, it is followed by the name of the Prophet ﷺ. Here, Allah ta'ala elevates the status of the Prophet ﷺ. Allah ta'ala is the Lord of the worlds and Nabi ﷺ is the mercy for the worlds.

Those who are sincere and have trust in Nabi ﷺ, will accept his message and be guided. Those who reject the him are astray and have fallen prey to the trap of Shaytan. They are not upon the straight path.

Those who have understood the greatness of the Prophet ﷺ from the Quran, hold certainty in the Quran. They understand his glory from the Quran.

Our duty is to protect ourselves from shirk and have strong belief and certainty in Allah ta'ala and His Rasul ﷺ.

يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَـٰتِهِۦ وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ

...."who believes in Allah and His revelations. And follow him, so you may be ˹rightly˺ guided." [7:158]

If we wish to be guided to Paradise and safe from Hellfire and punishment, we should believe in Allah ta'ala, His Quran and His Prophet ﷺ. Furthermore, the proof of one's certainty is to imitate the Prophet ﷺ.

A hypocrite is he who fails to imitate the Prophet ﷺ as he does not accept the Quran and the greatness of the Prophet ﷺ in his heart. He harbours doubt in the Quran.

Allah ta'ala desires that our belief and certainty should be physically demonstrated through our imitation. Those who are not imitating the Sunnah have faith, but without certainty. We must remember that only those who have proper belief and certainty will be successful and no human is forgiven without imitating the Prophet ﷺ. Whenever a person imitates him, he becomes the beloved of Allah ta'ala.

Unfortunately, Shaytan influences us to abandon the Sunnah and our worship alone without imitating the Sunnah is not a great achievement.

In reality, when one imitates the Prophet ﷺ, Allah ta'ala grants him the true depth of Imaan. He will be accepted as a believer and his worship is accepted by Allah ta'ala. If he fails to imitate, nothing is accepted from him and he will die as a hypocrite.

Allah ta'ala has prepared a guide for us in the world. Only when we obey the Sheikh's instructions, we will be successful. Once we obey our Sheikh, we will have obeyed the Prophet ﷺ and to obey the Sheikh, we must crush our desires.

Today, we make excuses not to imitate the Sunnah although we are not prevented from imitating by anyone. We may be mocked for our practice, however, we are not prevented. We are not made to sacrifice practicing our deen for the sake of our jobs. In reality, we place restrictions upon ourselves for there is no one who can stop us from following the Sunnah. In society, honour and respect is increased by following the Sunnah.

If we reject the Prophet ﷺ, we will enter Hellfire and become afflicted by punishment. We will be wretched and our children will become wretched.

If our heart is hard, we should visit a Sheikh to develop awareness and transform our lives. We should go with a true desire to improve. If we immerse ourselves in the Sheikh's practice, we will receive the obedience of the Prophet ﷺ in return.

We must obey every command of the Sheikh as a medicine, even if it proves difficult. We may have to sacrifice many things in the world, however, this is the method of attaining a connection with the Prophet ﷺ. Unless a student sacrifices his desires, he will not reach his destination.

One can only devote himself to the Prophet ﷺ once he abandons slavery to those who are opposed to the deen. This is when he becomes deserved of claiming to be the follower of the Prophet ﷺ, otherwise, he will be punished greatly for having Imaan without certainty.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
