There are two actions which a person is always performing - good or bad. Either the good actions overwhelm him, or it is the wrong actions which he performs in higher quantity.
We do not pay attention to the small deeds we perform, however, when we perform them, the action becomes established in a physical form and the effects of that good deed appear in a person's life in this world and in the Hereafter. Similarly, if a person engages in an evil action, it becomes established in a physical form and the effects of that bad deed become apparent in this world and the Hereafter.
We should live with caution because our deeds will be presented after we pass away. We will be punished for committing sins and rewarded for our good actions.
We were born with a purpose and every second of our life is precious. Allah ta'ala has attached rewards to each breath of our life. It is a shame that we waste every breath and have incurred much loss in our life.
Allah ta'ala grants us the ability to engage in good deeds, however, we are unaware of their value. In the Hereafter, Allah ta'ala will cause a person's face to shine like the moon and he will be seated on an illuminated throne. Allah ta'ala will make his deeds apparent and all creation will be watching and wondering what he did to earn himself a high status. Allah ta'ala will announce that this person is being rewarded due to his remembrance of Allah ta'ala in the world.
He will be given this reward even before his reckoning. The dhaakir will also be given shade under Allah ta'ala's throne and he will not experience difficulty in the grave. This is the status of a dhaakir!
These difficulties and challenges in life are a test. If we have determination, then Allah ta'ala's mercy will arrive. However, if we do not work hard, then we will face sorrow.
We must perform dhikr in abundance and we should not waste any second being heedless. Allah ta'ala has prepared a system for us to remember Him with every passing second. We should remain occupied with our worldly affairs, but our heart should be attached to Allah ta'ala and we should remember Him in our heart. We should remove the evil thoughts from the heart and bring the goodness in.
A farmer who fails to take care of his land, will not be benefitted by the weed and spiders. However, if he cultivates the land by ploughing it correctly, the value of the earth increases and it will bring him benefit.
Similarly, Allah ta'ala has granted us the heart which we must cultivate. Either we can make it a breeding ground for evil temptations and wrong desires, or an organ which embodies Allah ta'ala's remembrance. For this, we must direct our attention towards Allah ta'ala by teaching our heart the name of Allah ta'ala. This way, the heart will continue to mention His name.
Shaytan enters the heart of a believer and he generates thoughts, various worries and feelings of lust and desire. Allah ta'ala commands us to trust in Him and rely upon Him and assign all matters to Him as He is responsible to provide for us. We should be assured that we will receive what is in our destiny.
Every second of life is precious, so we shouldn’t waste it. When we see a person departing this world, we should take a lesson from it not to waste our time. The best way to use our time is to keep our heart occupied in dhikr. In this way, we will be earning for our Hereafter whilst living in the world. Furthermore, when we attach ourselves to dhikr, Allah ta'ala makes our worldly matters easy for us.
Shaytan makes us lazy and consider it an insignificant action, although Allah ta'ala has ordered us to remember Him constantly.
Allah ta'ala receives no benefit from us remembering Him. Rather, He desires that we benefit from dhikr and we return to Him having earned Paradise.
The true definition of dhikr is the dhikr of the heart. We should request the Sheikh to teach us. As soon as we learn dhikr, our heart will become alive, our life will be illuminated and Allah ta'ala will become pleased with us for obeying His instruction.
"O believers! Always remember Allah often." [33:41]
Here, Allah ta'ala addresses the believers, so it confirms that the dhaakir are those who have faith. Those who reject dhikr, have no faith as they have disobeyed the instruction of Allah ta'ala. A solid believer obeys Allah ta'ala's instructions, so our deeds will become a witness for us in the Hereafter which will assist us.
We should partake in the dhikr gathering morning and evening. This is our earnings for the Hereafter.
