Why Does the First Asharah start with Rahmah?

Hadhrat Anas رضي الله عنه mentioned that Nabi ﷺ said, Allah ta'ala said that "My Creation is my family." Allah ta'ala is not in need of having a family but this is an example of His love and nearness towards His Creation, despite them being sinners. This hadith gives us a big indication, that the most beloved person to Allah ta'ala is he who loves the Creation and treats them the best.

There was a great sinner at the time of Hadhrat Musa عليه السلام. Allah ta'ala informed Hadhrat Musa عليه السلام that He will be sending punishment upon the entire town due to this one man. He ordered this man to be expelled from the town. After being expelled, the man went to the village and continued sinning. Then Allah ta'ala commanded Hadhrat Musa عليه السلام to expel him from there too, yet he continued to sin. Then, the man had no option but to seek refuge in a cave. He fell sick and had no one to help him, so he began crying loudly. "If my wife was with me, she would've helped me. If my son was here, he would've found me a remedy." He cried so much that the heavens and the earth began to take pity on him. So Allah ta'ala inspired Hadhrat Musa عليه السلام to bury this man who had died and lead his janazah. So he went there and saw that the Hur had descended. Hadhrat Musa عليه السلام said to Allah ta'ala, "today you're ordering me to bury him after ordering me to expel him? Why is this?"

Allah ta'ala replied, "I couldn't bear his weeping without forgiving him. I am the Most Merciful of those who show Mercy. I gave the Hur the command to become the appearance of his mother and his sister and I ordered the angels to take the appearance of his son. His whole family was formed and I sent them to him. When he saw them, he became happy. He was grateful to Me and then he passed away." So this is the example of Allah ta'ala's love for His servants.

If there is one person in our house who does not pray, we show no disregard. We avoid encouraging our young children to pray. In reality, if someone is sinning inside your house, then the blessings are lifted from the entire house. We complain about our difficulties and being devoid from blessings, but we don't consider those who are sinning in our house due to which the blessings are sealed.

These are the days of Mercy and the greatest worship is to develop Mercy within us and improve our hearts. Allah ta'ala has introduced this month by His Mercy, saying that "I am Allah and I have kept that name myself. Thereafter, I revealed my name in the Quran. Whomsoever I like, I bestow the gift of my name to." Fortunately, the Naqshbandi's have received this gift immediately.

There are many qualities and characteristics of Allah ta'ala. We only know of 99 names regarding which it is mentioned, Whoever reads the ninety nine names of Allah and memorises them, he will be destined for paradise.

All of Allah ta'ala's names are built upon love and affection. The name of Allah ta'ala is the key for the entire universe. So when we combine Rahman and Rahim, everything is unravelled. "Ya Allah, Ya Rahman, Ya Rahim is such a great litany." These names are based upon Allah ta'ala's Mercy.

Allah ta'ala starts Ramadan off with mercy to show that we should seek Allah ta'ala's love and pleasure through His mercy. One attains Allah ta'ala's Mercy when he shows Mercy and love to others. Such a person becomes the most beloved to Allah ta'ala.

We are always facing problems in our life. We make plans to do such and such action, for example, we will eat this dish, we will take revenge on this person, However, Allah ta'ala is the best of planners and things don't go always according to our plan. Rather, they go according to Allah ta'ala's desires.

When we need something from someone at a high post, we look for a reference or an influencer who knows them, so we can get our needs fulfilled quicker. Similarly, when we want to please Allah ta'ala, or we want our needs fulfilled and our calamities removed, we should please His creation. Start giving in Charity and this is how our hurdles will be lifted and our problems, resolved.

The purpose of our Creation was to worship Allah ta'ala and earn Allah ta'ala's happiness. That worship which does not cause Allah ta'ala's pleasure is a waste. We must make Allah ta'ala pleased through making our hearts Merciful during these days of Ramadan.

We have recited many Quran but have we mended a broken heart? Have we sacrificed anything for Allah ta'ala's sake? Have we spent upon anyone for Allah ta'ala's sake?

All Messengers were given titles, some are 'Kalimullah', 'Ruhullah', but the final title was given to Nabi ﷺ , "Mercy for Mankind."
Allah ta'ala loves those people who are not stern and harsh. Rather, they are humble and soft.

The society of the Arabs were the most hard hearted. They would bury their girls alive. Then the nature of this nation were changed due to Mercy from the Prophet ﷺ's teachings.

The Creation of Allah ta'ala include the animals. The birds and cats love the Awliyah Allah as they know that they won't be harmed by them as the Merciful people are cautious. This is why they are respected even by the animals. This is the strength of the Muslim that even animals recognise the Muslims. When you're not Merciful towards the Creation, then Allah ta'ala will cause you to be bitten by the animals.

The connection of Mankind between each other is like the connection of the body parts. If you feel pain in your finger, you won't be able to sleep at night. You will keep on tossing and turning. Similarly, we live amongst the creation, so their pain should be our pain too.
Allah ta'ala has made other people poor as a test for us. Through our service to others, our issues will be resolved. If you have a sickness, then the most beneficial prescription is to spend on someone who is in dire need. When they pray for you from the depths of their heart, then the Arsh of Allah ta'ala shakes through the happiness of others.

The Awliyah Allah work on the hearts of the people so that they can become pure and attain the love of Allah ta'ala. We think they became a Wali Allah due to their dhikr, but in reality, Allah ta'ala selects those special people who have Mercy within their hearts.

Whatever the Sheikh does, he does with the permission of Allah ta'ala. If you think the Sheikh is favouring another student over you, then it means you are extremely sick. Those who doubt their Sheikh today will, doubt the Prophet ﷺ tomorrow. Therefore, if you wish to attain Allah's nearness then eliminate your doubts and accept Allah ta'ala's decision to be true. Become a sincere mureed.

A Sheikh makes you recite the kalimah so you can assign yourself fully to your sheikh and he can help you to assign yourself fully to the Prophet ﷺ which will lead you towards fanaa fillah. This is the real knowledge which you learn in the khankah.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement.
