The Reality of Salaah
In order to run a country, you first form a constitution - a manual or a book which states the laws and principles upon which the country should run. The nation which goes against its constitution, does not progress, rather it crumbles.
When Allah ta'ala gave us the deen, He gave us a constitution through the Quran. The reason for corruption today is because we have left our own constitution and live by the worldly constitution.
Inferiority complex arises when a nation leaves their own ways and become slaves of other people. Hence, many of us are merely Muslims by name and are part of a broken society due to not living up to the standards of how Allah ta'ala wishes us to be.
The Quran wasn't sent for reading, rather, it was sent for practice and implementation. The Quran is the greatest guide and nothing can compare to it, so if we abandon it, then we are not far from wretchedness. We must improve our society and take care of our generation by looking after our homes.
The objective is to take guidance from the Quran. If one selects any verse of the Quran with the intention of seeking guidance, it is enough to guide him. The person who takes guidance from the Quran and spends his entire life according to it, has recited the Quran with its due right.
"O believers! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones.." [66:6]
The Quran instructs us to save ourselves from the fire and also save our families. If we haven't corrected our selves first, then we won't be able to correct and improve others.
Allah ta'ala has created a system for improvement.
"And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein." [20:132]
Order and encourage your children to pray. This is the clear guidance and solution through which we will be given success in both worlds. Prayer is what saves a person and his family from hellfire.
وَاصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا
"And be steadfast therein." [20:132]
Ensure you are steadfast and regular upon your own prayer before you order your dependants. Allah ta'ala is reminding the parents here, that when you begin praying yourselves, then your child will also begin praying. Once you start tying your turban in front of your son, he will also imitate you for the rest of his life, as Allah ta'ala has made them this way. Young children have a lot of passion within them and are quick to imitate. They imitate everything that you do whether it is wrong or right. They pick up on your good and bad habits. Therefore, rectify yourselves first.
As mentioned in Ahadith, teach your child prayer when they turn seven years old. Teach them step by step according to the rules of the Quran. Teach them the Sunnah method of performing ablution. Introduce them to the Islamic clothing. Bring your children to the mosque after they develop the awareness so they do not disturb those who are praying. If they do wrong, do not beat them. Encourage them with love and sweets. Have patience on them because they are our future leaders.
When the child turns ten, then become firm. Instead of focusing on making your child an Aalim or Haafidh, make him a regular observer of prayer and praise him for this. This is a duty upon us!
Teach them about Islam and give them constant small reminders with love. If you don't give them the correct focus and upbringing which they require, then ultimately they will resort to drugs, commit theft and other wrongdoings. Murder, fighting and oppression will become strife in our community and this is because we haven't acted according to our constitution.
In reality, a child can never be rectified without prayer. No child can become misguided if we follow Allah's constitution.
Keep high expectations for your child's Hereafter, rather than being overly focused on their career and education. If the child is rectified, then the family and society are rectified. When your child grows up good, he makes the society good, so rectifying your child has a great effect.
Nowadays, parents do not emphasise prayer in the home. They send their kids to learn at madrassah, but do not teach them at home as they do not make the time for them. Until the child does not learn from practical demonstration at home, he will never learn.
Our entire deen is prayer and all of the solutions of the world are found in prayer. Whomsoever improves and perfects his prayer, will be safe from sin and receives paradise and success in the world.
Abundant research has been undertaken regarding prayer and wudu. There is great wisdom behind performing wudu in preparation for prayer. Our fingertips are connected to every organ in our body and when water is poured upon our hands, then our organs within are refreshed and our sicknesses are removed, so our health on the whole, becomes refreshed.
When we wash our face with water, our 5 senses become refreshed and improved and the eyesight becomes improved and sharpened.
Researchers mention that only if one performs ablution in the correct sequence, would it prove beneficial for him, otherwise there is no benefit in not following the order. Thus, we shouldn’t abandon what Allah's Nabi ﷺ has commanded and demonstrated because his orders contain many benefits that one cannot even comprehend.
Regarding wiping the head, There are veins located behind the ears and all the nerves of the body are linked to the nervous system in the brain. So wiping enables you to be protected from all diseases related to the brain like stroke, autism and dementia.
Children who have optical issues or poor memory when it comes to Quran memorisation, should perform wudu regularly. As a result, all his defects will be removed and his mind will become sharpened.
When we wash our feet and wipe between our toes, then all the pain related to the legs, arthritis etc, becomes better. This is how wudu grants us improved health and instils khushu within us to remember Allah with complete wellbeing.
When you perform perfect wudu, then the eight doors of paradise will be opened for you.
If you're depressed or facing mental health problems, then perform fresh wudu, pray 2 rakat nafil salah without drying yourself and you'll receive the solution. Your depression and anger will disappear and you will feel at peace.
