Beautiful Dua

Hadhrat Salman Farsi رضي الله عنه was such a great person in his society. He had nobility and was wealthy, but Allah ta'ala wanted to give him guidance. He persisted in searching for the truth.
When a person has the flame of love ignited within him, then he travels long distances to seek the truth.

Nabi ﷺ gave many treasures to the Ummah and amongst them is the treasure of dua. The entire deen is encapsulated behind dua. Once Nabi ﷺ presented a gift of supplication to Hadhrat Salman Farsi رضي الله عنه by way of a unique dua.

Nabi ﷺ said, “O Allah, I ask You for the health of my faith, such faith in good character, and salvation leading to success, Your mercy, Your wellness, Your forgiveness, and Your pleasure.”
[Musnad Aḥmad]

Many blessings are given to a person via this dua, so we should make a habit of reciting it.

Thereafter, Nabi ﷺ said, "If you wish to die like this, then keep your tongue moist and occupied with the dhikr of Allah." When you keep practicing one thing, it becomes your whole life. Hence, the final moments of your life are the moments of truth. There will be no pretence at that time and the determining factor of one's success will be based upon his lifestyle. This habit will only be instilled within us when we engage in dhikr and attend the dhikr gatherings.
In reality, Allah ta'ala is not dependant upon our praise and remembrance of Him. The entire world and every creature is already immersed in Allah's praise. This is their provision as they are dependant upon Allah’s praise for their existence.

Health is a great treasure. Only if you are in good health, you can work and travel and engage in worship. If you don’t have good health, you have nothing. We exercise and take herbal vitamins and medicines to preserve our health and wellbeing. We strive to become strong and develop our bodies to look a certain way. However, here, we learn that health is only beneficial when it is in parallel to Imaan. One can be strong or a body builder but he carries no value when he does not have Imaan. On the other hand, if one possesses Imaan but is physically weak, then he is the strongest in the eyes of Allah. If Allah ta'ala has given you good health, then you must utilise it to develop and strengthen your Imaan.

If you want to strengthen your health and make it valuable, then strengthen your Imaan and if you want to strengthen your Imaan, then improve your good character because Imaan is of no benefit without it. If we want our deeds to be accepted in the Hereafter, then we must look towards our conduct.

Nabi ﷺ has further said that Allah ta'ala has made Hellfire compulsory and paradise forbidden upon such a person who has bad manners and consumes the wealth of others unlawfully, regardless of how many deeds he has or the very little amount of wealth he consumed.

The beauty of Islam is such that it develops society. The biggest loss for us is when we contradict our deen through our actions and it turns others away from Islam. Islam spreads through good character. So we must demonstrate the true deen through our actions, rather than through giving discussions and speeches.

We consider nothing more to life than materialistic things, but in reality, we all have a responsibility of propagating deen which Allah ta'ala has assigned to us. We will also be held accountable for this. Deen is not merely worshipping Allah and that's it. Rather, whichever nation Allah ta'ala sends you to, you should spread the deen there. This is what the noble Sahabah used to do. If you spread Islam with honesty and sincerity, and without following your own whims and desires, then it spreads far and wide. Through displaying the true practice and good character, you are recognised, valued and respected by all.

In whichever land Islam has ceased to spread, it is due to our Imaan not being at the right level and due to not practicing Islam the way we should. Through adorning the Imaamah Shareef and observing purdah you are propagating your deen. It may be difficult and you will face hardship, but in reality, the more you practice your deen and are proud of your identity, the more respect you earn from society.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَكُونُوا مَعَ الصَّادِقِينَ

"Fear Allah and be amongst the truthful ones." (9:119)
The cure to bad character is the company of the Awliyah Allah. The true and pure deen can only be understood through the company of a pious person. In their company, your Imaan will become strengthened and your character will improve. You gain sincerity in all your actions. You'll be assigned dhikr and your passion for dhikr will increase and you will attain Allah's pleasure.

The pious are most definitely of benefit to all. If Allah ta'ala has allowed a river to flow somewhere, then the river will surely quench the thirst of the thirsty people. So make dua to Allah to find a Wali Allah, but don't seek him with the standard of your nafs, otherwise you will be deceiving no one but yourself.

If Allah ta'ala has written for you to attain guidance via long distances, then you should travel in search for it. The pious predecessors would travel long distances, more than 400 miles to visit their Sheikh. Some of them would even travel by walk, yet they never considered that they were favouring anyone through their actions. They never expected praise nor did they seek any recognition for their efforts. Some would arrive late and miss the time for dinner and they would sleep hungry but when they would partake in the gathering of dhikr, they would forget their hunger. This is because they were sincere people.

May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement.
