A gathering becomes superior and unique when the people are gathered for the sake of Allah's remembrance. Today we have left all our worldly affairs and travelled in the severe cold temperature, solely to take the name of Allah and no other motive. Thus, this gathering is proof that Allah loves us and we love Him. Allah becomes proud of us amongst His angels so will He not appreciate this act of ours? We should look at our love for Allah over our sins.
Many Ahadith mention the honour of that land upon which people assemble to remember Allah.
Nabi ﷺ said, “When you pass by the meadows of Paradise, graze as you like.” They said, “What are the meadows of Paradise?” The Prophet said, “Circles of remembrance.” [Tirmidhī]
Nabi ﷺ has also mentioned the virtue of Praying in Riyadul Jannah to which we are eager to observe prayer in. Similarly, he has also mentioned that the land upon which Allah ta’ala’s dhikr takes place, becomes a portion from Paradise. Why do we not hold conviction in this too? In reality, such places hold the qualities of Paradise wherein there is no fear, no pretence, no pride and no sorrows
Despite there being many virtues of such precious gatherings, we do not attend them as our conviction and certainty is weak. The pious predecessors mention that the success and practice of our deen is based upon our conviction and certainty.
There are 3 categories of conviction:
1) Ilmul yaqeen - علم اليقين - To understand and acknowledge something.
2) Aynul yaqeen -عين اليقين - To accept that fact and implement it
3) Haqqul yaqeen - حق اليقين - To recognise it as the truth completely.
Every deed is based upon one of these categorisations. One cannot succeed upon ilmul yaqeen or aynul yaqeen so he must promote himself to haqqul haqeen so that the true effects of that deed reflects into one's life. This is the superior level in which deeds become worthy of Allah's acceptance.
The most valuable action in our lives is prayer. Prayer is what differentiates a person between disbelief and Islam and it is the first thing we will be questioned about in the Hereafter. In reality, the quality of our prayer should grant us closeness to Allah and prevent one from indecent actions. Many of us pray but we do not gain any benefit from our prayer. Thus, we must increase our conviction in order to reach the highest level. This is achieved through engaging in Allah's dhikr. Through this, Allah will grant us ease and success and the best of both worlds.
There are also 3 levels of dhikr and each category of dhikr increases a person in conviction.
1) Dhikr of the tongue.
2) Qalbi dhikr. The second level of dhikr is dhikr of the heart where the tongue is mute and one's heart is engaged in dhikr. This is the level of Aynul yaqeen in which one's life begins to transform spiritually and physically.
When your heart begins to do dhikr, then the light spreads to the rest of your body. The different parts in your body absorb that passion and love and the light of the deen. Allah's magnificence is spread around the universe day in and day out and the entire creation of Allah absorb that magnificence and witness it. We have the qualities within us like Qalb, Ruh, Sirr, Khafi, Akhfa, which enable us to absorb the dhikr of Allah.
3) The third level is Murãqabah - Meditation. The heart and the tongue become mute but the entire body is engrossed in dhikr including one's thoughts. This is what is meant by يتفكرون. During Muraqbah, Allah's splendour begins to enter the body. At this stage, one's worship becomes promoted to the highest level - Haqqul Yaqeen, where his deeds are accepted by Allah.
We complain regarding jinns and magic. That's because we haven't come to the level of haqul yaqeen. For this we must go to a Sheikh and he will purify you and elevate your conviction. He is pure already and he will make you pure internally and externally. Bring your youth to these dhikr gatherings and their whole lives will transform.
Hadhrat Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanwi رحمة الله عليه prescribed the following formula as a cure for every sickness.
Recite durood shareef once every morning. Then recite Surah fatiha once and Ayatul kursi 7 times. Thereupon, recite surah falaq and naas 7 times together. Then recite durood shareef again. Complete this without eating and blow it the water and then drink this water. This will remove every illness. However, the condition is that one must be on haqqul haqeen, pure of sin.
"Say, (O Muḥammad ﷺ), "If you should love Allāh, then follow me, [so] Allāh will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful." [3:31]
Practicing the Sunnah is the way to attain Allah's love. We recite the kalimah and recognise the status of the Prophet ﷺ but we are so weak in conviction that it prevents us from imitating him. Instead we present our excuses for abandoning the Sunnah. In reality, when we adopt the smallest of Sunnah actions, like wearing the shoes with the sunnah method and the intention of following the sunnah, then despite being great a sinner, if death overtakes such a person, he will admitted to the highest grades in Paradise as he has earned the love of Allah.
Implement the Sunnah and adorn the turban.
Go to a Sheikh and promise two things. 1) promise to pray 5 times a day. Start off with the Fard at least and do not be afraid, Allah will help you. 2) Promise not to shave your beards. Once you keep it you will gain the love for it and will never cut it again. In return, you will receive the pleasure of Allah and Nabi ﷺ.
If you attend a dhikr gatherings solely for the pleasure of Allah, you will never leave empty-handed. No matter how many sins you have committed, Allah will forgive you and your bad deeds will be replaced into good deeds. Allah ta'ala will make thousands of angels witnesses to your forgiveness!
May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement.
