To Which Deed Does Allah Respond Promptly?

The Gracious Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was once present and the noble companions were also present and one individual came,

جاء رجل بدوي إلى رسول الله ﷺ

and he was a Bedouin, like a villager. One is a person from an urban location and one is a person from the rural location. There's a difference in the two. A person who is from the rural location, they are quite simple, no formalities, they speak directly. They don't talk lengthy or detailed. They speak to the point and that's how it is in our rural and village locations. But the people who are from the city, they are a bit more modern, more clever and smart and they present their viewpoint with a certain methodology. But those from the rural locations were straight forward. So the Sahabah would wait for a person to come from a rural location, like a Bedouin and he would ask some questions and they would also get the benefit. Due to manners and etiquette, they couldn't ask too much as they were very respectful. In the hadith it is mentioned that the sahabah would sit in such a way in front of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that their heads and necks were bowed down, their faces were bent down and they didn't gaze at him directly and even if birds were to sit on their heads, they wouldn't know. But the people from the village, the rural locations, they don’t have those same manners, what should they do, what shouldn't they do. So they would speak. So the sahabah would become very happy when a Bedouin would come. "We are going to hear something and we will also benefit directly." So he came, in the hadith it is mentioned that he was a Bedouin and he asked directly. He said, 'oh Prophet of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, علمني خيرا "Tell me something which is good for me." What a small question he asked but its answer is very great. Extremely great. He asked for goodness. "Oh Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, Tell me something so goodness can come in to me." And goodness is everything. Living in this world with goodness. Passing the Hereafter with goodness and in the grave, goodness and everyday is goodness for us and the bridge of Sirat is good for us and all the phases of life in the Hereafter are good for us, all the phases that have passed, have passed in goodness. If you have goodness in your day, then you will have blessings in your day. So when you wake up in the morning on your bed, always ask Allah for wellbeing and goodness. And the first thing you should ask Allah is , "oh Allah, let us spend this day with goodness, and allow me to be safe from calamities, from sickness. Don't get out of bed immediately because there are duas to recite. So they have the same meaning but those who can't memorise the dua, Allah recognises all languages, don’t delay, as soon as the day is starting, get up. We don’t know how our day will pass. There could be distress or a sickness or a problem coming your way, what do we know? So we should assign our day and time to Allah and then get out of bed. So he asked for "khair." Goodness. Now goodness. How is Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam distributing goodness and the noble companions are listening silently. Allahu akbar. So Allah's Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam looked towards him and he didn’t take it negatively like, "where's the protocol, where's the formality?" Allah ta'ala also didn't dislike it, although Allah ta'ala has given a strict order not to disrespect the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and if you raise your voices then all your deeds will go to a waste. Allah ta’ala has mentioned this. But Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam didn't say anything to him. Rather, he gave him such khair, goodness, that it became goodness for the entire universe. MashaaAllah even today we are benefitting from this question. So he asked for khair and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said "fine. Say SubhaanAllah." And he's counting on his fingers because he was from the rural village area. "Say alhamdulillah." He counts further. "Say, Laa ilaaha illallaah." He said, "Laa ilaaha illallaah." "Allahu akbar." He said ,"Allahu akbar." Then he closed his fist. SubhaanAllah. Because he was counting. Like he had a big treasure and verily it was a big treasure that he closed his fist and didn't ask any other questions and he didn't look at any of the companions. Great companions were sitting there and then he went off. And he departed with much happiness because people from the rural areas are like that. Then he returned and said, "It wasn't clear, I don’t want to forget something, then he came back again." So the sahabah are watching. He said, "ya Rasulullah, if I say "subhaanAllah", it is for Allah, if I say "Alhamdulillah" it is the praise of Allah, if I say "Laa ilaaha illallaah", this is also Allah's praise, If I say "Allahu Akbar", I'm also glorifying Allah. So what is there for me?” فما لي؟
Allah's Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, when you say SubhaanAllah, إذا قلت سبحان الله then what will happen? Allah will say صدقت, "you are truthful, you have said the truth." وإذا قلت الحمد لله And when you say Alhamdulillah, Allah will say, "you are truthful." What a great gift Allah is saying about you that "you have said correct."
وإذا قلت لا إله إلا الله ؛
And when you say Laa ilaaha ilaaha, then Allah will again say, "you are right." When you say "Allahu Abkbar" then Allah will say, "you are truthful."
Then you say, اللهم اغفر لي "oh Allah forgive me." And then Allah will say, قد فعلت "I have forgiven you." You've said it and immediately the forgiveness has come straight away. Then you'll say, اللهم ارحمني "oh Allah have mercy upon me." And Allah will respond, قد فعلت "I have showered my mercy upon you." And then you will say, اللهم ارزقني "oh Allah grant me sustenance." And Allah will say قد فعلت, "All the doors for sustenance have been opened for you. Then he closed his fist, "4 before and 3 now." And with ease he wrapped his clock around him and he departed and the sahabah were watching him.
[ صحيح الترغيب (1564) ]

He departed and such a treasure he took himself and left behind for the Ummah too. What amazing kalimaat, littanies, which were prescribed. The first thing we see is that when he asked Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for goodness, Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam selected Dhikrullah because all the goodness is with dhikr. So Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam taught him dhikr, because you have to teach dhikr. When you go to a Sheikh and request him to teach you dhikr, then he teaches you dhikr in the same style. So he came in his own way, he didn’t ask to be taught dhikr, he asked for goodness. But we find out that the action Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam prescribed is an act of goodness. There’s goodness beyond goodness in this action. And the second thing we learn is, the connection between us and the dhikr of Allah. When he said, "SubhaanAllah," then it didn't take long for a response. Allah immediately responds to his call. So with regards to dhikr Allah ta'ala has inserted a quality that this is one such deed that when one does dhikrullah, immediately the connection with Allah is made. فاذكروني أذكركم

This is a direct dialogue with Allah. This is a direct dial and immediately your dhikr rises to Allah and Allah immediately responds to you. That same time when a person sits in Dhikrullah and he remembers Allah, then it is such a fantastic deed my brothers, such that Allah's attention is immediately cast upon that person. And when the servant goes to Allah and in reality is doing dhikrullah, he's not saying anything, but Allah knows everything about that person. He is upset, he's distressed, he has some sickness, he has some need or requirement, so Allah ta'ala says in the hadith, "remember me." And when a human being does dhikrullah, then Allah focuses on that person and Allah knows what sickness he has and what he needs. A person has not yet finished his dhikr, in fact, he is still engaged in dhikr, and Allah bestows everything upon him.
And this Bedouin was such a great example, it didn't take a second, he asked a question and was given the response. You ask Allah for forgiveness and immediately Allah says, "I have forgiven you already " Tell me. When a person is sat engaged in dhikr and sat in halaqah, like we are sat here, just like the word of the hadith as you have read in Fazaail-e-A'amaal, then the men arrive and the dhikr has began. As soon as dhikr begins, the situation is now different. What is happening now? As soon as dhikrullah starts, Allah ta'ala with His complete Mercy, focuses on those people. And as soon as those people get up, then immediately an announcement is made in the heavens, that Allah has forgiven all those people who were present in this gathering of dhikr. SubhaanAllah. How quickly the connection is made with Allah through dhikr. And alongside that in parallel, we see in the hadith what a great reward Allah has granted us through the means of these Kalimaat. What a great treasure we have received which has reached us today due to that Bedouin. SubhaanAllah.

سبحان الله و الحمد لله و لا إله إلا الله و الله اكبر

What great Kalimaat. These are those Kalimaat which Allah has delivered to us through the Bedouin mentioned in the Hadith. Allah says, "the greatest Kalimah from amongst all the Kalimaat, is this one." These are the most beloved Kalimaat to Allah. So if these Kalimaat are most beloved to Allah then imagine how beloved they must be to Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says, "these kalimaat are beloved to Allah, so they are also beloved to me, more than the entire world and whatever it contains." That’s how fantastic these Kalimaats are. So how valuable are they for the Ummah? When the Ummah recite these Kalimaat, then it is stated that when a person begins reciting these kalimaat, his sins shed from his body likes the dry leaves shed from the trees. Look how Kind Allah is upon us. We end up committing countless sins during the day, but He has given us such a great cure that if we engage in dhikr, morning and evening Allah will purify us. What a great cure He has kept. We try to refrain from sin. We try but we are humans, so it happens again. So what a great cure this is. If we engaged in dhikr morning and evening, then whatever sins we have committed from morning till evening, will be washed away in the evening. And whatever sins we have committed from the evening until the morning, will be washed away in the morning. And death comes in between these 2 phases so you will depart with forgiveness. So this is dhikrullah my brothers. Due to these kalimaat Allah sheds the sins from a person's body like leaves are shed from a tree and these kalimaat are so great because they are beloved to Allah. After the Quran, they are the greatest kalimaat that one should read. For the Ummah, it is stated that these kalimaat are like a Dhaal, its a like a shade or a protection and what is it a shade for? Hellfire and the fire of Jahannam. When a person recites these Kalimaat and does dhikr, then in the Hereafter, these kalimaat will wrap him up from all 4 sides and they'll save him from Hellfire.
And the third thing which is a very important thing we learn from this hadith, for which the pious predecessors have given the explanation for. It is something to listen to. A Bedouin came to Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and he requested him and Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam responded to him. So what was the reaction? All the sahabah who were sat there and the Bedouin too, immediately embraced this response to their chests. They didn't delay in implementing this hadith, rather they began implementing immediately. This is deen, my brothers. What does that mean? No matter how many speeches we give, no matter how many hadith we present in Ramadan, how many respected Ulamah have come and given speeches and advice. We come and we say, "time will pass." We listen to them and afterwards, we don’t know what we heard. This same hadith. To hear one hadith of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and to receive the hadith as the sahabah received this hadith, then would a person's life not change after listening to the hadith. Or do we want to keep listening and not do anything? Imagine how displeased Allah would be with those people, that He is giving us this reward and He has given us the ability to listen to it, he has sent a great scholar and then allows him to pay attention to the listener's, Allah ta'ala enables all of this doesn't he? For example a person doesn't come to dhikr for 2 years and he used to come before that, it is Allah's choice that he cannot come. He became ill or distressed, hurdles come in a person's life. Sometimes it’s the intention of a person or the love of a person. Allah is خبير and بصير and knows. The more you giveyour reception and welcome a good deed, the more Allah's mercy comes towards you. Allah says I want your desire first and whatever I want, of course it can happen without delay, but this is the Sunnah Ilaahi, the Sunnah of Allah that if you want to seek my Grace, my Mercy, and my Kindness then there's one condition, و جاهدوا
first you take the step and you have that desire. Allah doesn't necessarily want us to proclaim with our tongues, He knows what is present within the depths of our heart, even if you have a small desire within your heart that if only there was dhikr, it would be good. Allah says, "immediately I will prepare for that." You have to express that desire. Whenever you see something ceasing, then feel guilty yourself, don't blame other resources that , "it is happened due to that, or that." No. The Holy Prophet sallallahu sallallahu wa sallam has given us the cure that when you see things of goodness are ceasing, and they are being prevented from you, then understand that it is your own fault, it is due to you own sins and immediately start reciting Istighfaar. Immediately engage in abundant repentance from Allah. "Oh Allah I've made a mistake." You are praying taraweeh and a hurdle of a restriction comes, then is this a small restriction? Will Ramadan come again? How many people were present in the previous Ramadan but are not present in this Ramadan? You are in Ramadan and they are sat in their graves the poor souls. You completed your prayer and they are watching you, hoping that you will make dua for them. You are about to do, and they are dependant. Yesterday they were like you alhamdulillah and they would make dua, they would recite Quran, do dhikrullah, they had complete permission to do so, like we have complete permission to do so today. Today they are waiting in their graves that is there anyone or my son, who will recite "SubhaanAllah" once and send me the reward. They're in the grave, they're dependant and we forget them. We are running around enjoying ourselves in the world, we don’t remember them, that "so and so person would sit with me yesterday and now today he has disappeared. He has passed away. Yesterday he was praying salaah with me, and today he has gone." So are we not going to go tomorrow? So they are dependant and we have got a chance. We make excuses saying that we are sick and we cannot move. Even then, you can still earn rewards just by saying "SubhaanAllah." Regarding SubhaanAllah, I'd like to share another incident with you. It was Hadhrat Umar Radhiyallahu Anhu's era, you know how stern he was, meaning not generally stern, rather, he was firm in terms of the deen. Otherwise there was no one soft hearted like him. None of the companion of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam were strict because Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam wasn't strict. That was their style. They had so much modesty and protectiveness that they couldn't accept it if any haraam was being done. They would speak up. And it was Hadhrat Umar Radhiyallahu Anhu's era and a man made a mistake, he was liable for punishment so Hadhrat Umar Radhiyallahu Anhu gave the order of 10 lashes. How many lashes? 10 Yes and that was the verdict. And it was given. In those times, you couldn't do intercession, call the solicitor and seek help. The decision was made and that's it. Why? Because whatever he decided, had to take place. So 10 lashes. The man came forward and the one who was going to whip him was also stood there and they were all sat there. When he was lashed for the first time. This is something to listen to. It was the time of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam's companions. When he was whipped he didn't cry out, "oh I'm finished! I'm done for!' That's what we would've done after being hit isn't it? He cries and screams and asks to be saved. We would cry out saying, "I wont do it again! Please let me off!" So when he was lashed, he said, "SubhaanAllah!" Hadhrat Umar Radhiyallahu Anhu remained silent and the sahabah were also watching. And when he was about to be whipped for the second time, Hadhrat Umar Radhiyallahu Anhu said, "that's it, stop. His punishment has been ceased. He is forgiven." A sahabi who was present began smiling and he asked, "why are you smiling?" He said, "I'm smiling because upon saying one SubhaanAllah, Umar Radhiyallahu Anhu has forgiven 10 lashes, then when we say SubhaanAllah and go to Allah, then what will be our case?" SubhaanAllah. "You have made it easy for us." Look at this. So this is the case isn't it? Such a great action dhikrullah is which I told you. So now we shouldn't be those who listen, we should be those who act. Say SubhaanAllah, so that Allah's mercy and blessings can descend upon us. Every Thursday night you come to the Dhikr Majlis isn't it? I have made an intention that Allah makes it easy and so that the dhikr majlis can continues because It is not a minor thing isn't it. I have just narrated the hadith to you, such a great hadith that he recites SubhaanAllah, it is dhikr isn't it? One sahabi had so much value for that SubhaanAllah that he lifted the punishment from him, Hadhrat Umar Radhiyallahu anhu.
End of story. "I cannot dare to lash him after that." Because as soon as he recited Allah's name and such a great name, that when a person recites "SubhaanAllah" and praises Allah, then a tree is planted for him in jannah! This is dhikr my friends. We have the passion, "teach us dhikr, teach us dhikr," but we don't do it. The more a person is heedless of dhikr, the more he is negligent and detached from Allah. He will pray salah and recite Quran but with delay. He does the actions with delay. Such is negligence. There are 2 types of actions. One is done with negligence and the other is done with alertness and passion. One person comes to pray salah with alertness, enthusiasm and love, the difference is like the difference between the heavens and the earth. MashaaAllah the angels come and kiss that salaah. They pick the salaah up with their hands and take it as a gift and they include it amongst their treasure chest of the Hereafter. And the one who comes in state of negligence. Okay he has prayed salaah but where is his value for it? One dua, you rush and recite Surah Fatiha and the other one is recited from the depths of the heart, and one expression is, "oh Allah grant me Aafiyah, protection." That which has come from the heart, goes up to the heavens. This is the definition of negligence and the more a person is negligent from dhikr,

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا
Allah doesn't need our dhikr. On every square millimetres and inch, there are angels sat and remembering Allah with their tongues. They are pure, they don’t sin, they don’t do anything wrong. But Allah ta'ala hasn't addressed them has he? It's for our benefit that it is said to us. Allah says, "the most beneficial action for you is Allah's dhikr." The most beneficial action which will give you benefit in every phase of this world and the Hereafter is Allah's dhikr. It will be so valuable that لَا يَشْقَى بِهِمْ جَلِيسُهُمْ , Allah says that if you sit with a person who is doing dhikr of Allah, you will certainly not be deprived, just by sitting next to him you'll be forgiven. And the thing which takes a person far from Allah is when a person doesn't engage in dhikr. So make dua to Allah, "grant me your dhikr gatherings, show me your Dhaakireen, seat me with them for 5 minutes because you have mentioned great news about them.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا
You'll be forgiven. You'll be successful. Allah has told us these things in the Quran and we see this point also in the hadith. After hearing this hadith, the biggest dua that comes out and may Allah accept, "oh Allah, grant us the same understanding as the villager." He clenched his fist and took away the gift which were treasures he was accumulating for the Hereafter.
May Allah grant us the same passion that when a great Wali Allah or someone pious or an Aalim gives us advice, we embrace it against our heart and make a promise to implement this action immediately. It could be that tomorrow you won't get the chance in your life or you might not be given the ability to do it tomorrow but it will be written in the Hereafter for you, that he wanted to do the action so grant him all the reward, even if he had the rest of his life, grant him all the rewards as if he lived through his life and did this action. Do we make the intention for dhikr? Will we do it? So learn it. I mentioned that the sahabi came to learn dhikr didn't he? Without learning you cannot attain anything. If you have the desire to read the Quran, what would you do? You will learn it. Where will you go to learn? Allah has created Imaams, Mawlana sahib for this.
"السلام علیکم "
"Why have you come brother? Why have you brought your child today here?"
He says, "I've come to get Mitai, sweets." He will say, "We don’t have sweets here." "Can I have some meat?" "We don’t sell meat here either. So what have you come to get? I have the Quran here, I can teach you Quran," the Quran teacher will say. So when you go to a specialist, then go and acquire that specialism from him. Allah has created those individuals and created their passion. A Mawlana cannot be a doctor for example. He doesn't have that desire. A doctor cannot be a Mawlana, he doesn't have that desire. Allah says, do this action because I have selected you for this action but the people of the Quran have been selected for the service of the Quran. The Quran will come out from his heart. Say SubhaanAllah. Do you understand?
So what was the first thing? May Allah ta'ala grant us the understanding that when there is beneficial person amidst us, and you’ll receive different benefits from different people. Everyone has different benefits. Like I gave you the examples. So take it from them accordingly. Like today is a dhikr gathering, so what will you get the benefit from? From Dhikrullah. You must take hold of it. "Hadhrat, you have come, please prescribe dhikr to me. You've been doing dhikr for 40, 50 years and you've met such great pious people." You'll think this won't you? That, "you have visited great Awliyah Allah, where you met them and which Sheikh and it is a blessing to sit with you. And today you have come to our masjid so please prescribe some dhikr to us so we can do it as well because you told us that there are a lot of benefits in doing dhikr. And we have never gone so Allah has sent the teacher to us automatically, so please teach us dhikr as well." No. We don’t have that desire. What is the reason for this? I'll give you the reason for this too. What is the reason? What is the difference? We eat more than them don’t we? They probably never ate chicken in their life. They have probably never eaten steak. The takeaways we eat, the generation of the sahabah never even knew about takeaways. The delicious food on our food mat which we have. Do they know about biryani? Did Abu Bakr As-Siddiq Radhiyallahu Anhu ever eat biryani? Did Bilal Radhiyallahu anhu ever receive biryani or did he receive lashes? Or did he burn on the fire? Or on the hot sand? SubhaanAllah. We receive biryani, yet we are negligent from dhikr. And he would burn on the fire and he would be lashed and would say, "Allah." what is the difference between us and them? Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would grant them advice, and they'd be extremely happy and they'd be waiting for someone to ask a question so they could practice. If they didn't have the desire to implement, then I swear by Allah and I say this, this hadith would not have arrived to us. They had the desire so Allah preferred them and selected them and Allah spread that selection. And Allah ta'ala says that "when you like something good, then I spread it." When you like dhikr, Allah will spread dhikr. If dhikr is happening here then the second masjid will say, "we want to do dhikr aswell", and the third masjid will say, "we want to do dhikr aswell", and we've seen this. I've seen that. There is desire and passion MashaaAllah, they are pious people. When the desire is created, then the enthusiasm builds and when there's enthusiasm, then Allah ta'ala bestows that upon the people. Such great dhikr gathering. If there is a dhikr gathering every Monday, then the people who are sat there are forgiven and the people of that area are showered with Mercy, sicknesses are removed, Allah's Grace is bestowed, whoever is about to pass away can attain Jannah. And regarding His Mercy, what can I tell you about it? Yes these kalimaat and look how far spread it goes for the people who value them. Allah's Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "my dearest uncle, please come." Regarding Hadhrat Abbas Radhiyallahu anhu, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "my dear uncle, my heart feels like giving you a gift today, and I feel like telling you such a word, such a gift whereby everything of yours, past, future, hidden, apparent is all eliminated and you are forgiven immediately. I desire to give this to you. SubhaanAllah. Hadhrat Abbas Radhiyallahu anhu said, "my nephew, please my nephew, give it to me." He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, replied, " سبحان الله و الحمد لله و لا إله إلا الله و الله اكبر "
"Recite this in your salaah." You know we say "Salaat-ut-Tasbih", where did these Kalimaat come from? So my brothers what is the reason? What is the difference between us and them? They had understanding and desire and passion that as soon as they heard something from the blessed tongue of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, just like we hear the Hadith of the respected scholars, we hear from books, from the Quran, we hear tafseer, but we only want to do what we like to do. We don’t want to go beyond that. We say, “Why shall we do that?” What is the reason for this? I'll explain to you. There's a hadith, that if the quality ends within your heart, for example, when someone is reciting Hadith to you and you feel sleepy and your attention is being distracted. "Okay I have come, I’ll stay a little while, then I'll go." When you gave such emotions, that someone is reciting Quran or tasfeer, and the messages are being delivered to you, then your eyes should be opened, what is wrong and what actions cause punishment? What reward you will receive for your good deeds? The emotions will become stronger when he listens to the Quran. Allah's Quran isn't a minor thing. But we say, I don't know what he is reading. What explanation. Oh what points he mentioned! What a great speech and after that, we are just praising the speech of the one who is delivering it. This is what happens isn't it? "Call him, he does a great speech!" "Oh there is no one compared to him. He gives good points and he speaks against other people. He puts them down, he ridicules them." Brothers, he didn’t come for this so that you praise him. Rather he says, "select some of the jewels which I have given you and told you." That was the rank of the sahabah. That was their style. They’d come to obtain and implement immediately. What is the reason? When you get this emotion that the capacity and desire to listen and the impact is ending, it means that your heart is sealed. It is obvious. If you keep burying something, then it will end. What will enter it then? Our hearts have been sealed and clothed as the Quran mentions. قست قلوبھم The heart becomes hardened and when he sins, it increases and increases so the qualities inside the heart diminish. So the Quran, hadith and good actions stop having an impact upon his heart. That's why Allah's Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "if you want to take benefit from the Quran, from the Ahadith, from the Awliyah Allah, then it is compulsory upon you to keep your heart pure and clean.

إن لكل شيء سِقالة ، وإن سقالة القلوب ذكر الله
(شعب الإيمان للبيهقي)

Allah's Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has announced that when you wash your body morning and evening physically to clean it, so just like that, to clean your heart, to create tenderness and affection of the heart, to attain Allah's love, to have the desire for dhikr, is reciting Allah's one name a minor thing? Does it hold no blessings? Is there no effect in that? People would come to my Hadhrat sahib for cure for their sicknesses. Wallahi, I tell you the truth. What would Hadhrat sahib write and prescribe? "Allah." He would write this and give it and say, "drink it morning and evening." And that person would become cured. Many patients with cancer I have witnessed become cured. I saw a few severe patients cured like this. For that one name, there would be a que of people requesting. "Hadhrat give me a Taaweez too." And my Hadhrat sahib used to say, "don't place your belief in this Taaweez, place your faith and belief in this name, "Allah." The difference between you and me, oh foolish man is that you have placed your belief in this Taweez. I have belief in this name and whatever Kalimah I write, it is through the sake of Allah. It is He who has the cure." If I take 'Allah’s' name out, then 'Subhaan' will be left. When you remove Allah, then everything else will be finished. When you attain Allah, then everything changes. Say SubhaanAllah. Do you understand?
So my brothers, when the name of Allah is inscribed upon your heart, then what a great achievement. The friends of Allah inscribe the name of Allah upon the heart. Whoever wants their name written, they can come, I’ll write it for you. I am a specialist in this course of teaching the name of Allah and I am a consultant in this field. That’s my occupation. That is my duty alhamdulillah. But what is it? It doesn’t affect the people. They look at me, they praise me, they greet me with "Assalaam-o-alaykum", then they scarper. Then I say, "your choice." What can I say? Why? Because the hearts are sealed. Come with an intention. Come with Istighfaar. "This elder is coming and I am going to listen attentively, whatever I need and require, I will request him, Hadhrat give this to me." This should be the intention. A Muhadith comes and you want to understand the Hadith which you liked, then you would go to him to understand it. If there's a jurist, you can ask a ruling from him regarding fasting and prayer. If there is a Wali Allah, then learn Allah's name from him. Say SubhaanAllah. So alhamdulillah today's discussion was so good. May Allah ta'ala grant us all the understanding of this subject just like this Bedouin understood. Come, let's do some dhikr of Allah inshaaAllah. Recite Durood Shareef.
