What Dua Shall We Make in Layla-tul-Qadr?

My Hadhrat sahib Rahmatullahi Alayh would give a specific dua to certain individuals. Obviously the dua which are made by the Wali Allah have great impact and are accepted in the court of Allah and they have a deep meaning and are very weighty.
It was a unique dua and they would recite it in their own language. "Allah Raazi te vey." SubhaanAllah. What a fantastic dua. "May Allah be pleased with you." I believe that a person doesn't require anything else after this. If a person has attained Allah's pleasure then, what else would he want, think for a moment. It was a complete comprehensive dua of Hadhrat sahib. SubhaanAllah. Whoever received this dua, had attained success because everything depends on Allah's pleasure, my brothers. If Allah is pleased then our prayers will be accepted. If Allah is pleased, then our worship will be accepted. If Allah is pleased then everything will be accepted. If Allah is pleased then we will receive Jannah. If Allah is pleased then we will receive the ranks. If Allah is pleased then we will get all the rewards. Everything is dependant upon Allah's pleasure. And Jannah is a place due to Allah's pleasure. So, in reality a man's purpose is to please Allah. We haven't come in this world to make Allah displeased have we? We can't just live our lives like that aimless can we? No. We can't live like this even for a moment. If Allah is displeased with us then what will the state of our life be. A man cannot even remain at home if someone is displeased with him. If his mother or father is angry with him, or an elder in the house is unhappy with him, then he would be so distressed until the environment has become better. If the Lord of the universe isn't happy then what will be the condition of the creation with Allah? Understand the importance of this. And the reality is that every moment Allah has created becomes valuable when Allah is pleased with a person. Allah has given us opportunities for this and it is through His grace and kindness. We are not here for any other reason that we forget our purpose isn't it? So Ramadan is given to us so we can please Allah somehow or another. Remember this. There is no other purpose. The main purpose of Ramadan is to seek Allah's pleasure and to make Him happy. We commit sins the entire year and we make Allah displeased don’t we? What else do we? There is a measurement yard stick for displeasure and pleasure that if you follow someone according to his preference, then he will be pleased and if you don't follow him according to his preference, then he will be displeased. Ask your father, "why are you unhappy with your son?" "He doesn't listen to me. I say something but he does something else." That’s the first complaint of the father isn't it? "He doesn't listen to me, I say something but he does something else." So when you see that he's happy then the first thing what will come out is, "mashaaAllah he's really good, whatever I tell him to do, he does it." So this is the measurement stick. We use this for other things but when it comes to the connection between us and Allah, we forget this principle. So this is a very important situation and we forget this and say there's no need for this, although Allah has told us to remember this for every point just as I explained. The company of the Wali of Allah is what we attain. He gave a dua, and what a great dua, he didn’t say, “may your business flourish, may your wealth increase, may your shop be successful, may this happen, may you get married, may you have children.” No. He wanted all of this to happen but everything was encapsulated within that one statement. "Allah Raazi ti vey" End of story. Obviously he wanted a person to come to him with the objective of pleasing Allah, not for any other reason. So for this reason Allah has also granted us the month of Ramadan because after one year we run around like moneys and animals. What is our condition in the world? So within Ramadan, Allah ta'ala instils the blessings and He fills it with grace and glory and such light is emanated which makes it unique from all other months. From one month to the next month, but this is unique because in this month, the connection between the human being and His Lord is strengthened after a year. So Allah has given us Ramadan for this reason. Don’t run towards worship because we engage in worship all year long brothers. Worship all you want after Ramadan. You perform 20 rakat in Ramadan and you can read 20 after Ramadan too. Who is stopping you? This is just a practice which is refreshing us. We completed as many Quran's as we could in Ramadan, we can complete it after Ramadan as well, who has stopped us? Nobody. So here Allah ta'ala has given us a revival so we can continue doing it even afterwards. Today you read 20 and tomorrow even the fard are gone. What is this? You read nawaafil in Ramadan. Ramadan says, "you can perform 20 nafil rakat but you don't read the fajr salaah in the morning?" Tell me. Then what practice have you done? For what? You run to Taraweeh for nafil but after that, when you have revived and refreshed yourselves through nawafil, Allah says I made your nawafil on a higher level, then most definitely your value and appreciation will increase, or it should increase. You’re emphasising on the small thing, then how great will be the great actions. But it is sad to say that we haven't understood Ramadan.

What have we understood Ramadan to be? We haven't understood its worth. We think deen is upside down somehow or another. All we've done is, we have put a different stamp of approval but for those who understand, you will see the difference in those people. Their lives will be changed and they'll have understood what Ramadan made them practice and they’ll realise,”now I've come to the reality afterwards.” Ramadan has also given us more blessings and rewards. Ramadan and then on top of that, more blessings, so it is like light upon light to this extent that Allah has made the situation,

انا انزلناه في ليلة القر

Allah ta'ala has given us a fantastic reward. In this month Allah has also inserted a night which is a unique munfarid night. Allah has praised and defined this night Himself
انا انزلناه في ليلة القر
What does Allah start off with? First he spoke about the beauty of this night. What is the beauty? The greatest personality in this world, the most beloved, the head or the Prophets, the head of the Anbiya, the head of the Rasul, the intercessor for the Muslims, the one who has the highest rank in the hereafter. He will intercede for everyone. SubhaanAllah. And the most virtuos book which Allah ta'ala has revealed from all the other books. Look at the honour of this night. It's a great honour.

انا انزلناه في ليلة القر

The Muffassireen say there are three meanings for the word, القدر
One meaning is referring to the "value." And "value" could also refer to "being tight."

القدر
Can also refer to the "amount."
So if we take all 3 meanings for this word, then the explanation of this night is clear, that this night is the night of Qadr. If we look at it as "value," then Allah has informed us of the value.

انا انزلناه في ليلة القر
وما أدراك ما ليلة القدر . ليلة القدر خير من ألف شهر

It does not have a small value. What is its value?
1 in exchange for 1000. You do one good deed and you'll get 1000 months equivalent in rewards.
83 years and 4 months rewards in equivalent. Yes if you pray salaah, then you'll get the reward for how many years? If you recite Quran today, then you'll get this much reward, if you repent from sins today, then you'll get this much reward. Look how great this statement is regarding this night.
القدر
So how valuable is this night which Allah ta'ala has given to us. And what's the objective of this night? The same reason we have been given Ramadan and then Allah gave us this night and made it very valuable. Regarding this Allah says, "I will listen to your words." Tonight is the 25th night of Ramadan. There were 2 Sahabah who confirmed that this night is the night of Laylatul Qadr. The first one is Hassan Radhiyallahu anhu and the second one, I can't remember his name right now. 2 companions confirmed and said the 25th night is Laylatul qadr. Allah could've shown them or bestowed upon them something on this night but remember that this is the standard which Allah ta'ala has kept that it could be the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th. It is our duty not to be concerned with this, rather seek it in each night. Not just in one. But when we see the statement of 2 companions then let's consider not to be lazy and just stick to the 27th. We should perform those things which we should perform on Laylatul Qadr. What a valuable night where the angels come and Allah ta’ala’s doors are open and His court is there and He waits for us to attain the objective for which He given this night. So lets understand. But its hard for us to understand the objective isn't it? We don’t easily understand. What objective should we understand and who should explain to us. We’ll see when the 27th night comes, ajeeb, everyone with their own style is doing their own action. Okay fine, do Ibaadah, do a lot of worship. Do recitation. There is reward, but it is not the objective of this night. Do you not understand what I'm saying? Do whatever you want but it is not the objective. Fine you will recite Quran and you'll get the reward equivalent of 1000 months of reciting. You'll recite and you'll get the reward. But my brothers, if you haven't attained the objective then what is the benefit in that? There is one objective which is to make our Rabb who is unhappy, pleased with us. If we do this then we have attained the night, then you can do all the worship that you want and you’ll get the reward equivalent to 1000 months as a bonus.
Now, how do you make a person who is upset, pleased with you? How do you get that person on your side? Like "this person is my friend but he is upset with me, I need to make him happy." So what you do? Okay let's talk about home now.
Your wife is upset with you. And هن لباس
You know what each other likes and dislikes and you're also friends with one another. So if you want to make this person happy you think, what shall I do to make this person happy? So you go to the shop and you buy whatever they like from the shop. If they like roses, he would go and buy them. And if he can't buy it from here and it is only available in Manchester, he would travel to Manchester to get them for that person to. He knows he has to make that person happy, and this is a good way to make them happy and if I give them, they'll become happy. So if he goes Manchester and tries to find them in a shop but he can't, he will go to another shop to buys them. And if he finds the flowers but they are expensive, he will still buy them because he would do what it takes to make them happy. You would definitely go and buy them so you can please the person you wish to make happy. Is this the case or not? And if your Lord of the universe is unhappy with you then how do you make Him pleased? Which flower shall we buy, from which garden shall we get them, what things shall we purchase which Allah will be happy with? How shall we please Allah? What shall we present in His court so He may be pleased with us on this night of Laylatul Qadr and so we can be successful on this night? This is the message isn't it? That whoever Allah is pleased with, he is successful. And to make Allah happy now we must research what will make Him happy. Allah is so Kind and Merciful that even though He is displeased with us, He has given us the method to please Him. “Bring me this and I'll be pleased.” He has told us and unravelled the secret. Which human being is it that doesn't know? You read the Quran? Everyone reads the Quran and everyone knows what Allah is pleased by, but we fail to please Allah with that thing. Despite knowing, we take shortcuts and engage in other things instead. "Let me please Allah through this, through this, let me read nafil, let me give in sadaqah." Allah said no. I'm only pleased through one thing.

فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ

Follow the Sunnah of my Habib sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, make him happy, follow his principles, follow his Shariah, then forget about happy, i’ll make you my beloved.

فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ

Is this not the case? Has Allah not said this in the Quran? Did Mawlana sahib tell you this? Did Hadhrat sahib tell you this? Did a Muhadith tell you this? No. Allah is telling you Himself.

قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ

And how is Allah announcing it? Through who?
قل
Say, oh My beloved, I want you to announce it from your own beautiful tongue because you'll be ashamed of mentioning your value. That I am such a great person and look for Allah's love through my love. And I am your Lord and I want the whole universe to listen through your own statement and keep reciting this statement until Qiyamah.
قل say
From your own blessed tongue. So that tomorrow they cannot have the excuse that "Allah's Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam didn't say this. He didn't tell us to do this." There are 2 things included here. This is double confirmed now. If someone gives you a letter and there are 2 stamps upon that letter. One is the kings stamp and one is the leaders stamp. So over here there are 2 stamps of approval, one is اللہ saying قل to his Habib and Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself is putting the second stamp on. Is there are any room for doubt brothers? There is not even 1 percent of a reason for a man to doubt. No one can complain or doubt this statement. So it is Mustanid, confirmed and sealed by Allah in the Quran and Allah commands us in the Quran, recite as much as you want. But listen to this message.

قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ
Until Qiyamah the Quran will remain, the deen will remain. Allah says this is the deen. فَاتَّبِعُونِي is the deen. You can change the generation, the era, Qiyamah can come, but which deen will run? What the Quran has prescribed. Do you believe in the Quran? Who is telling us this? Is Mufti Sahib telling us this? Is Mawlana sahib telling us this? Is Hadhrat sahib telling us this? Who is telling us? The Quran. And whose blessed tongue is it emanating from? Our beautiful Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Whoever has faith in both of these, Allah and His Rasul sallallahu alayhi wa sallam will accept and say, "I cannot reject this verse." But for those who don't have faith, they say, "no no we don't believe in this, we don't follow this rule." Allah's Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam gave us further explanation.

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله تعالى عنه "أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: فوالذي نفسي بيده لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى أكون أحب إليه من والده وولده". البخاري
وروى البخاري

“None of you have faith until I am more beloved to him than his children, his father, and all of the people.”

He said, "I swear by Allah in whose hands lies my life."
SubhaanAllah, how he started this hadith. Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah Radiyallahu Anhu. "I swear by him." In other words, who? Allah. Allah could've said this, but what a beautiful statement. He said نفسي بيده I swear by Allah,

لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى أكون أحب إليه

Is this not a hadith my brothers? Is this not the statement of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam? Did Mufti Sahib say this? Did Mawlana sahib say this? Did Hadhrat sahib say this? Did Peer Sahib say this? No. Imaam-Ul-Anbiyaa himself is saying this. SubhaanAllah. Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "ill give you the explanation of this فَاتَّبِعُونِي.
Now tell me, how many veils and barriers are there in front of our eyes and deception, fraud, lies, greed and dunya and materialism and nafs. How many veils of fraud have we hid our deen with. Say SubhaanAllah.
We ourselves have hidden our deen so much to the extent that we have hidden it from others too. We don’t tell them what the deen is. Tell me. There are thousands of pathways which will be shown, 'Allah will be pleased through this and this, just do this and do this.' But no one tells you that Allah won't be pleased by anything, even if you make dua in Layla-tul-Qadr or you climb the Ka'bah and make dua, or In Madinah you make dua, but Allah has made the principle and it has been printed. After Allah created this earth, He revealed that it is compulsory upon you to do it this way. Do you not understand what I'm saying?
If I have Imaan and I am a believer and I want my Hereafter to be successful and I want Allah to be happy with me and I want to attain Laylatul Qadr and I want my Ramadan to be accepted and I want my worship and my Quran to be accepted, then the first principle Allah ta'ala puts down is what? فَاتَّبِعُونِي
For the sake of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is the first thing. Thats it. Confirmed.
He took and oath and said, لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى أكون أحب
Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says, "what Imaan are you wondering around in the world with? With which deeds do you weigh your Imaan with? A person cannot be a Mu'min in this way. Your nafs is deceiving you. Your Imaan won't be accepted in the eyes of Allah. You can call yourself a Muslim or a believer. Noor will not enter your Imaan.

لا يُؤْمِنُ أحدُكم حتى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إليه مِن وَلَدِه، ووالِدِه، والناس أجمعين

This is the basis. Do you understand now? Why does Allah become displeased? Because we have left this action. We are doing everything else under the sun, but Allah is not happy. Undoubtedly Allah has given us a reminder in this night that remember me and if you want to make me happy and you don't know about your life, all your actions will go to waste. Allah has given us the relationships first, and who is most closest to a man? Why do you earn money, food, buy clothes and you do all the things in the whole world, more than for your own self, you do it for your children. You earn for your children, your mother and father. Allah has given you such relationships that from blood emerged blood. Isn’t it? For example, the son or daughters features, the hands, are similar to the father, and you can tell that that is his father and his qualities and habits will be similar, his mindset will be similar. In fact, it is scientifically proven that the genes make a difference, if you are intellectual, then the child will be intellectual, if you like a certain thing in taste, then the child's taste will be similar. If he's doing that, then they'll also do similar. Yes. My respected father, I remember this, I used to study and I chose a unique subject that everyone was surprised. I said “I want to study geology and I want to become a geologist. I want to get a degree, I want to go to university and study geology. Everyone said, "how comes? Why are you going towards this subject?" I said, "no I want to look at the plants, I want to look at the stars and the universe and the formation. This was my desire and passion. I want to look at the habits of the worlds, the heavens and the skies. I want to be a geologist and I want to study geography, the science of the earth.” I didn't know at the time, but it was in the genes, because I realised that my father himself also had a degree in geology. Sometimes you see that if the father is a doctor, the child also wants to become a doctor. He gains the passion to become a doctor. These are in their genes isn't it? It follows through the generations. For example, if the father is a bit mad and he talks loudly or if he is naturally angry, or stubborn, then the children will also go upon the father or on the mother. What is this? This is the blood. The blood is such that it multiples and comes into the other human being. So how much love would you have for your children. So Allah's Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, how did he select for his love? Allah says, you'll have to detach yourself from the blood relationship that is in your genes and generation if you want me. When I come in, then my pleasure is greater than the blood relationship. My pleasure is greater. For example. Today the whole world abandons the obedience and the Sunnah of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for these very reasons. These are the reasons and the relationships for which they go against the obedience of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Mother, father, children, relatives, all of them.
For example, نفسي بيده even if the whole world is stood on one side and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is stood on one side, you'll have to accept the Sunnah and shun the dunya. This is loss. This is happening. Dont take haraam. This is part of the test of deen and this is where the nafs will be crushed. All lifelong your nafs will not be crushed and for as long as it is not crushed, Allah won't be pleased. Your nafs is crushed by one thing only. Junaid Baghdadi Rahmatullahi Alayh, what a great personality, his title was, 'the leader of Taif', he said that, 'all lifelong I did Mujaahdah, I worked hard, I tried to crush my desires.' People go through a lot of effort for this, 40 years sometimes, they would hang upside down in a well, they'd go in the jungles for this, they'd go in the wilderness, great struggles for this just to crush their soul and at the end he says, "after doing everything, the conclusion I came to was that the nafs is only crushed through the practice of the Sunnah." SubhaanAllah. If anyone wants to crush his nafs, then he should adopt the Sunnah in his lifestyle and his nafs will be cooled no matter how strong his nafs is, no matter how much it invites him to the wrong, but when the invitation comes from all sides of the nafs, then sit with one response, that, what is the sunnah of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam with regards to this matter. That's it. But shaytan has stolen this from us through Waswasah. "The sunnah is nothing. It is not important. We don’t need the Sunnah. We are forced. We have to do it and if we can't, then what shall we do. We fail."
If me or you say anything, the law of the deen doesn't change does it? No. So Allah ta'ala says, " I am displeased with you and the reason I am unhappy is this." And It is not our measurement yardstick, that "my business is flourishing, my children are there, we are happy at home, there is everything.' Whether you are happy or unhappy, whether you have worldly issues or comfort, this is not that the way you measure whether Allah is happy with you. Even if you're in the worst of situations, you've got poverty or hunger, you've got sickness and you're about to pass away, if you're upon the sunnah, that thing which Allah ta'ala becomes pleased by, then your depression and sickness doesn't testify that Allah is displeased with you, rather, it testifies that Allah is pleased with you! Allah is happy with your poverty, He is happy with your sickness, He is happy with your privation, he is happy with your depression. We say, " oh Allah must be punishing this person. Oh he has problems, maybe it is due to his sins, why does he have this problem in his life or maybe Allah is unhappy with him."
Allah doesn't punish anybody. Allah is most Merciful, most Kind, He gives us wealth. We say, "He gives food and drink to the disbelievers, those who swear and dishonour Allah from morning to evening. They worship other than Allah yet their households are running. They are happy and enjoying life. How can if be that Allah is unhappy with them? This is not the measurement basis that have they got problems or comfort. The measurement yardstick is, who is following the Sunnah of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and who is not. Who has placed his children upon the path of deen and who hasn't? In whose house the law of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is upheld and in who's house it isn’t implemented. Say SubhaanAllah. Laylatul Qadr has come with this very message. How do we twist and turn it? Today let's see how people celebrate Laylatul Qadr. Tell me. I've shared with you the confirmed message of the Quran and hadith with you today. Everthing is beneath that. Allah subhaanahu wa ta'ala have given us this night of Ramadan for which reason? So a man can make his Lord pleased. Because only when Allah is happy, he will receive jannah. If Allah is happy, only then, a person will be safe from the punishment of the grave. If Allah is happy then, he will be able to pass through the bridge. If He is happy then he will successful at the time of reckoning. Everything is dependant upon his pleasure isn't it? So he said "make me happy. There's an opportunity and I'm giving you this night. You don't have to do anything longwinded. Just make a promise today that 'Allah I have understood your message and that you have given me a great opportunity and a great night. InshaaAllah I will live my life according to the Sunnah. Oh Allah, I will live my life according to your statement and whatever responsibilities you have given me like my children, I will make them also live according to the deen inshaaAllah. I will run my business according to the deen and the Sunnah.
Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "until I am most beloved to you," so anyone who comes in between this mission of mine in the world, my wife, my children, my relative, my boss, I will say, "sorry I don’t accept what you have to say, I won't accept your statement, I'm sorry because I will die tomorrow and I don't want to leave this world without Imaan.
Allah has given us this night to make this solid promise with him. Such a great night. That's the purpose of this night. What do we do? We do other actions in order to please Allah. "Everything us permissible.' No one said its impermissible. Pray nawaafil. Read Quran. Make dua. Do everything. And everything is fine to do. And Allah says, everything you're doing is fine but where is that thing which will make me happy? Tell me that first. Show me that thing which will earn my pleasure.
The thing which I have said in the Quran, فَاتَّبِعُونِي
That is the condition.
Our nafs gives us the permission to do everything, and everything is easy to us. We have kept the fast haven't we? The nafs allowed us to, even though it is a difficult act to do. I'll say it again, ask those people who are fasting in 100 degrees Fahrenheit. They'll tell you what the actual fasting is like. Dont make your own criteria for fasting. Even those people have kept the fast. The nafs will allow you to do it, no problem, but where will the nafs become stuck? When Allah's Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says, 'keep the beard', he won't keep the beard. The nafs won't allow it. It will let you do Umrah, it will make you do Hajj and tawaaf, it will make you give in charity, but nafs says, "don't do this thing," because the nafs knows that if you were to do this thing, then Allah would become happy, so the nafs will become stuck. So if you keep the beard, your nafs has been crushed and Allah has become happy. SubhaanAllah. Junaid Baghdadi Rahmatullahi Alayh, leader of Taif, he said, "that house is ruined, that place is ruined."
With pride we say, "we have this in our house, this much this, this much that." We openly say this but those who see afar say, "you have all of these things inside your house, but is the pleasure of Allah present? Are these people even pleasing Allah? Do they know how to eat in the sunnah way? Do they know how to clothe themselves in the Sunnah way?" The yardstick and criteria Allah ta'ala has defined is that, "whatever Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam commands to do, implement it, and whatever he commands to abandon, then abandon."
مَا آتَاكُمُ
Such a great criteria Allah has given to Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. This is the sunnah. Whatever it is said to take, then take it. وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ
And whatever he commands to abandon, then abandon. Do we have this in our house? "No Allah, but we have everything else. And we complain, "he does this, he does that, the child does this." this is called the deception of the nafs. A person goes to the Khankah, the Wali Allah over there doesn’t teach you how to pray Salaah, they don’t teach you Fiqhi Masaail, Islamic Jurisprudence rulings, they don’t teach you the commentary of the Quran, no. SubhaanAllah. What does the Khankah teach you? The Wali Allah brings you into the practical life and he paints you with the colour and effect of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

صبغة الله
They paint you with the effect of Allah. They bring the colour of Allah in to your life.

و من أحسن
What a beautiful colour is the colour of Allah the Quran says doesn't it? Allah is free from the definition of colour. You want to see the colour of Allah? Do you want to see it? If you want to see it then where should you look?

لَّقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ

Allah says this is my colour. The colour of Allah. SubhaanAllah.
When a person begins practicing upon the Sunnah of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam externally and internally, then his walking, talking, his conduct, his environment and personal life, should all be according to the Sunnah of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam completely. Then what happens? Then know that Allah is pleased with him and whoever Allah is pleased with has become the Wali of Allah. End of story. He has attained Wilaayat. And one attains all the levels of Wilaayat from where? From adopting the Sunnah of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Say SubhaanAllah. Whether it is a woman or a man, you've been given the wealth of Imaan and you depart the world without the treasure of Imaan!? We go into the grave without Imaan? Never did you make the Sunnah the standard of your lifestyle, even though the standard of our life should be the Sunnah! Do you know what standard is? Making something the criteria of your life. An example of life. Like Allah says, "example." اسوة, so throughout our whole life, Allah has told us Himself not to take up any other example. "I've sent an example myself to you." Why? Because Allah ta'ala has given the glory to the believer that he is walking, talking, standing sitting, eating, sleeping, urinating, passing stool, going to your wife, impurities being discharged, going out, whatever you're doing, Allah says every action of yours is worship. What value has Allah given to your life. Every action and second, not just going to the masjid and speaking to Allah, rather, every action of yours is Ibaadah. When? When it is performed according to the example of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. When you eat and drink something and you've finished and in the morning it comes out, what kind of lifestyle is that? And in contrast, you eat and make the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam as an example, the very same food you eat in this way, will become light for you.
Every action of your life, whether it is worship, your personal life, buying, selling, relationships, everything, what is the example given in our lives? If you're upset with your wife, then how did Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam teach you to appease her? If you're uncle is upset with you, then how did Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam say that you must treat them. If a person is a enemy with you, then what must your relationship be with your enemy? If you're in business, wherever you are, any place, that example is at the forefront. What method did Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam prescribe to run a business? What do we need to analyse? Loss or profit in this world or the Hereafter? We need to see the loss and profit of the hereafter. SubhaanAllah. And Shaytan decieves us that if we leave the Sunnah, then your sale will become £2000. And if we adopt the sunnah, then we will be left with £100. "No way. Do we want to die? I can't live with £100, I need to feed the children, I need to give tax, I need to get a car, I need to do such and such." We present all our stories. This is the test.

ولنبلونكم بشيء من الخوف والجوع ونقص ‏من الأموال

These are the tests in one's life. sometimes you are sick, sometimes you are happy, sometimes Allah brings you on to the roads, sometimes Allah gives you the height of wealth, sometimes Allah puts you in the jail, sometimes Allah puts you on the throne. Sometimes you are upside down and drowning in a well. Sometimes you are in the ditch of a well. Sometimes on the throne. Sometimes he calls out, "perform Sajdah to him", and eleven stars are bowing down.

Look at the story of Hadhrat Yusuf Alayhis salaam. How much difficulty he had in his life. In the Quran it is mentioned with regards to his story, أحسن القصص, "the great story." He was the beloved son, he was punished, his brothers hit him, they threw him in to the well, he became a slave, he was sold to the extent that, they were trying to steal his honour and he said, "what shall I do? How shall I be safe?" His brothers beat him up, he was sold, slavery, then he became handsome that the women started running after him. And such beauty, I've never heard of, such that when they'd watch him, they'd become entranced with his beauty and accidentally cut their fingers with the knife.

In response to this, Hadhrat Aishah Radiyallaha Anha said a beautiful thing, "The women of Egypt cut their fingers, but if someone saw my beloved Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, then they'd cut their hearts open with the knife."
Aishah Radiyallaha Anha said, that "no one can compare to the beauty of my beloved." Allah made him His beloved. So if Yusuf Alayhis salaam's beauty was such that the women cut their fingers, then imagine the beauty of the Master of the 2 worlds, Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. No one can see his beauty in this world. Nobody can see the reality of his beauty. To this extent Yusuf Alayhis salaam was tested that his honour was at stake and he was distressed that what should I do. The doors are closed and locked and this woman is inviting me. And she said, “if you don't do this, then you're going to prison.” She is trying to bargain with me, with my beauty and she said he had to do this action. All the womenfolk were sat there and she's making them confirm. He was put in the corner and forced to do that action and upon something good he was doing, saving his own honour, she threw him into the jail. He was imprisoned. May Allah not let it happen. Those who have been to jail, they know what it is like. But there is a difference. One is that of the cell of this world. And one is the cell of Allah. Those who go into the jail of Allah, then that is not a jail for them, it becomes a portion of paradise for them. Because they were imprisoned for Allah's sake. So Hadhrat Yusuf Alayhis salaam went to prison for Allah's sake. SubhaanAllah. He went for the protection of his deen. So such a great test. He was a nabi of Allah and Allah mentions the whole story of Hadhrat Yusuf Alayhis salaam in the Quran so we can read it and enjoy it. Am I right or wrong? You can take the story how you want, a love story or a story of passion. But this was the story that this Prophet was taken to this place and that place. Sometimes down and low. Eventually when he was successful in his test, then Allah placed him on the throne of Egypt.
So what is the message? That today if you are experiencing sometimes hardship and tests sometimes prosperity and luxury, but the test will be passed in only one way. "Did you follow the way of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam or did you shun it and disregard it? Do you leave haraam or the sunnah? Tell me. You have to make this decision in every part of your life. And as the era continues and the years pass by, it will become worse and Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself said, don’t swear upon and don’t rely upon my love, if you want to rely on my love, then be prepared. SubhaanAllah. Be prepared for poverty and hunger. You don't just become a lover of the prophet like that by making false claims to be one, by participating in rallies and shouting takbir. Is the deen this cheap? Is the love for the prophet this cheap regarding which many verses have been revealed in the Quran like لعمرك - 'I swear by your age.' If Allah is swearing by his age, then how valuable must his life and age be. Allah swears by his city. Say SubhaanAllah. Ramadan is for speaking about the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and his sunnah. This is the message of the night of Qadr. Whoever celebrates it in this way, then if you want the highest stage in Jannah, keep a high standard. "This is also Sunnah, this is also Sunnah." Not, "this is also." Do you understand what I’m saying? Say SubhaanAllah. Dont say, "this is also." We are going to do that which Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did. There is no, "this is also fine." Shun those ways. Shariah gives permission for everything. Make the intention and Allah will open the pathway for you. Think for yourself that alhamdulillah you have taken up the pathway of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam's Sunnah. There is no doubt about it. You have started it. The Naqshbandi student's beginning is this. So when a person goes to a Naqshbandi Sheikh, his repentance is this, "perform taubah." Of what? "I will implement Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam's sunnnah internally and externally. It will take you some time to change yourself internally so immediately first change your external state, the teacher instructs. Immediately change your exterior state without delay. Immediately a crown will be placed on the head of the student and the face will be adorned with the beard and the tasbih is given in the head and 'Allah' is taught upon his tongue. Say SubhaanAllah. This is the glory of the Naqshbandi Sheikh. This is what they teach. No left or right or lengthy wazeefa, or struggle and strains. These 3 things are taught and when you grab hold of them, the Sheikh says, "go you have become a Wali Allah." The path is correct so work hard on it as much as you can. The path has been shown to you. This is the path and it all depends on your effort. However much you wish to raise your building you can do so. There is no limit to attaining Allah's nearness, if you want to attain Allah's love, there is no restriction. The more you stick to the Sunnah and pious company, and persevere through difficulties, say alhamdulillah, and ask yourself "this is not against the Sunnah what I'm doing or saying is it?" then that's it. Carry on. Those problems, barriers and sicknesses should never be considered as a result of Allah's displeasure, if you're following the Sunnah. Remember this point. Dont even consider this thought.

If a man is a living according to the Sunnah and he is afflicted, his business is facing loss, he is struck by problems, then never think that Allah is displeased with you and this is a result of His punishment. Rather, know that Allah is elevating your status because you're are stood upon the Sunnah and acting according to it. This should be our criteria.

The greatest Aalim is he, who revives the Sunnah. The biggest Hafidh is he who revives the Sunnah. The biggest Mufti is he who revives the Sunnah and decides according to the Sunnah. The biggest Sufi is he who acts upon the Sunnah and makes others act according to it. Have one criteria of life. The biggest person is he who is the most closest to the Sunnah. We were talking about the love and the time of Iftar has arrived too. 4 minutes left. Okay we will do the dhikr of Allah. So tonight is Laylatul Qadr my friends. Do you understand what taubah we have to do tonight? The rest of the Ibaadah we have to put to one side and the promise to Allah on one side. Engage in other worship, but first and foremost, say "Allah my whole life will pass on the Sunnah of your Habib sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. I will give advice to my children regarding the sunnah, I will teach them how to eat, dress and talk according to the Sunnah, I will teach them the etiquette of the masjid, I will teach them everything which Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam defined to us. I wont consume unlawful provision, I wont commit haraam actions, doesn't matter how sick I become, doesn't matter how poor I become, doesn't matter if i end up on the streets, I wont do no wrong action, I wont lie. Do we make this promise brothers? Ameen. Otherwise we will remain like monkeys and thousands of Laylatul Qadr will pass and more will come. You know like a celebratory day, don't celebrate this night. These are night kept for action. May Allah ta’ala grant us all the ability to implement. Ameen
