​ Be Kind to People and Allah will be Kind to You

Allah subhana wa ta'ala has made a soul, a Ruh, for everything. It is on the basis of the soul that things are in existence. The body doesn't really have any status; where does the beauty of everything connected to the body and the benefits that we can see come from? From the Ruh, the soul. The Ruh is with us and if there's no Ruh in the body, then the body cannot live on the earth. Then the grave is dug and the body is thrown into the grave. So the situation for a human being is all related to his Ruh - say SubhanAllah. The whole game of life is related to the Ruh. It doesn’t matter how big your body is or how beautiful your body is or how valuable your body is – once the Ruh is extracted, it becomes totally inert; nothing is left and everything has gone. So, this is the body, and this is the most important thing that Allah ta’ala has put into the body. If the Ruh is in the body, this is the most important thing in the world.

But there is another Ruh, you could say, due to which both things remain in existence. Say Subhanallah. Both things depend on this – the existence of both your body and your soul. What is that? Sometimes you should think about such things and then you'll understand these points; when you have an empty stomach, lots of things come into one’s mind and understanding. So what is it that keeps the whole body and also the soul in existence? It is something without which the soul is a waste and the body is also a waste - a complete waste. The Ruh won’t be useful and neither will the body be useful. Do you know what that is? That is Allah ta’ala's Deen that He has sent to us – SubhanAllah. It is Deen-ul-Islam, upon which we have Iman; and the basis of that is the Qur’an - say SubhanAllah. This is how Allah ta’ala gives the brilliant understanding.

So the body is a waste without the Ruh, and both the body and the Ruh are a waste without what? They are a waste without what? Without Deen. Whoever has Deen, alhamdulillah, his body and his Ruh are in existence, they are beneficial, and they are giving so much benefit that they will take you out of Jahannam and deliver you into Paradise. Otherwise, if you don't have Deen, then the abode for the body and soul will be hellfire. Their abode is hellfire, and the only thing that will save this body and soul from hellfire is what? It is Deen. We should say Shukr millions and millions and millions of times over every day, for without any effort on our part, Allah has given us Deen - and then Allah has given us the job to protect it.

For example, if I give you something very precious in your hand, like a nice watch, then if you break it and throw it away, obviously you'll lose out, won’t you? So Allah ta’ala has given us such a valuable thing, which is La ilaha illa-llah Muhammad-ar-Rasoolullah, so if we play with this, and throw it around, if we lose out by playing games with it and doing what we want with it, is this justice, my friends? Tell me - is this justice? Think for yourselves. We should have pity on such a human being. Allah has given him a body, Allah has given him a Ruh, Allah has given him His mercy and given him this gift that He's given him La ilaha illa-llah as well, and then he plays games with these gifts that have been given to him. Ask those people - ask those bodies and ask those souls who don't have this beautiful Kalimah, who have not received this; imagine their sleep and imagine their life, living like an animal, like a wild, untamed animal, wasting the time of life. Despite having everything, it is as if they were deceased. If for example, there's a dead body, what will happen if you put food next to that dead person? Nothing can happen - nothing. Through Allah’s Karam and Allah’s mercy, Allah’s favour upon favour, He has given us a body and a Ruh, a soul, and Allah has given us Iman on top of that, SubhanAllah. So does it not become Fardh for us to do something to protect this Iman? Keep listening as we take this further.

So now you've got Deen and we have to protect the Deen and revive it, and Allah says that there’s a Ruh for this as well – SubhanAllah. There’s a Ruh for the Deen as well, yes. The Deen cannot just stand up by itself - you have to stand that Deen up, revive it, make it alive and protect it. So will there not be a Ruh for the Deen, or not? If you understand this Ruh, will you not look after it? Will you not protect it? So what we have realised is that yes, there is Deen, but if you don't have the Ruh for that Deen, then that Deen has also died – SubhanAllah. Yes, this is the case. Allah has given you a body and has given you a soul for your body, and He has given you Deen as well. But if you don't have the soul of your Deen, then your Deen is finished as well. And if your Deen is finished, your Salah is finished, your Zakah is finished, your Sadaqah is finished, your A’maal are dead, your Hajj is dead; everything is dead without life – it is soulless. SubhanAllah. Do you understand what I'm saying? Yes, so you've got the Deen, which dependent upon its own Ruh, and what is the Ruh of the Deen? We need to learn this, don't we? How can you protect it if you don't have the Ruh?

So what is this Ruh? The Ruh of the Deen is an Ajeeb, unique thing. The Ruh of the Deen is what Allah subhana wa ta'ala sent Imam ul-Ambiya for - say SubhanAllah. The Imam of the Prophets was sent to give this Ruh. Who did He send? The Imam-ul-Ambiya, the head of all the Prophets, the chief of the Prophets, who was given the Kitab that is the head of all the Kitabs, who was given the Ummah which is the head of all the Ummahs. Through him, Sujood was made the highest place of all the places in the universe. He is the head of everything, and whatever is attached to that head, also becomes the head. So he was sent, and he announced ‘I will tell you what the Ruh of the Deen is.’ SubhanAllah. What did he announce? What did he announce, my brothers? He came and announced how to save your Deen – do you understand what I'm saying? We have to do this, so listen to my Bayan again afterwards. Listen again so that you can revise it. Repeat it so that we can save our Deen - we need to save our Deen. So what's the Ruh of the Deen?

Nabi al-Karim sallallahu alayhi wasallam announced it himself. He said ‘Listen, I was sent for a purpose, oh people. Let me tell you what I was sent for, so that your Deen will be complete. What is that? I was sent to complete Akhlaq – conduct, manners. I was sent to perfect conduct - I was sent to complete Akhlaq. You will see many aspects of Akhlaq around you, but total, perfect Akhlaq, the essence of Akhlaq, you will see in my Deen.’ SubhanAllah. You can see Akhlaq in Abu Jahl, you can see Akhlaq in other places, and you will see people with no Iman who have Akhlaq; but you will see Kamil, complete Akhlaq in Siddique! Say SubhanAllah. You will see this Akhlaq in Umar, you will see this Akhlaq in Ali and you will see this Akhlaq in Uthman and you will see this Akhlaq in Talha, and you will see this Akhlaq in Zubair - in other words, in every Sahaba you will see this Akhlaq demonstrated. Say SubhanAllah. This is a massive point that we need to understand.

So Allah says that if you want to understand Deen and you want to look after Deen, what do you need? You need the Ruh of the Deen, the soul of the Deen - and what's the soul of the Deen? What is it? Akhlaq is the soul of the Deen. Who said this? Who? He, the Nabi who brought the Deen, who said ‘Quloo La ilaha ilaha-llah and you'll get success.’ He said this to the whole universe – and he is telling them that basis of that Deen, its soul, is Akhlaq. If you don't have Akhlaq, then your Deen is dead; and if your Deen is dead, that means Salah has gone, the fast has gone, Zakah has gone. Do you accept this? You have to accept it because the Qur’an is telling you and the Hadith is telling you. May Allah ta’ala have mercy on us – Ameen. May we have understanding of the Deen - may we understand the Deen.

We consider weird things as the Deen, but Allah says that if somebody says that, they don't have the Deen. Deen is based on Akhlaq - Deen is defined by Akhlaq. Look how simple and straightforward this is. Allah ta’ala has given us the biggest Ibadah, which is what? It is Salah – Namaz. The Ruh of the earth, the most beautiful place on earth, is what? The Masjid, because in the Masjid you complete the Salah of Allah. So for this reason, it is the most beautiful and excellent place in the world – there is nowhere better. If you want to see physically what's glowing and shining, if you look down from the skies, wherever you look where there are Masjids in the world, they will be glowing, shining and sparkling. Say SubhanAllah. Two things sparkle. If the inhabitants of the heavens look down, they see the places where Sujood is made sparkling, and also the hearts where Allah’s Name is recited. Those two things sparkle when they look down from the heavens. Say Subhanallah. We can’t see the glow - we don't have the glasses, we don't have the eyes and we don't have that vision - but the inhabitants of the heavens, the angels, when they look at the earth, they see the Masjids sparkle and the hearts where Dhikr is done sparkle. SubhanAllah – MashaAllah. So the the Ruh of the Deen is Akhlaq – conduct. Look at the difference - the Masjids of Allah where people prostrate sparkle, they are Noorani, illuminated – why? Because Sajdah takes place there, Salah takes place there. What is the greatest action? It is Salah. Which is the biggest Ibadah that Allah ta’ala has given to us? It is Namaz – Salah. Look at this point.

So what does this mean? In this Deen that Allah ta’ala has given us, the Ruh of the Deen, the soul of the Deen is Akhlaq. Akhlaq - now let's look at the difference. Allah has given us Salah as the greatest action - that's the one Ibadah, the five times Salah which we come to the Masjid to pray. So how much time is there for Allah’s Ibadah? Five times – it is restricted. How long does it take to pray Salah? 5 or 10 minutes for the Faraa’idh. It takes five or ten minutes for one Salah, five times a day, so there's a limit. And when we're free from Salah, what’s the Ibadah Allah has given? Akhlaq – Allahu Akbar. Salah is for five minutes, and Akhlaq is all day long! SubhanAllah. Salah is in the Masjid, and Akhlaq is at home, it’s at the shop, it's at work, it's on the pavement, it's in friendships, it's in relationships, with relatives - this Ibadah goes with everything else. Say SubhanAllah. So what's this big difference in scale between the two? For that Ibadah which is the greatest Ibadah, Salah, Allah has confined it to a place and a time; and how much time is given for the rest of the Ibadah that human being is given? You have to implement this Ibadah in every second.

You have to smile at your wife – this is Ibadah; if you meet your friend, that's Ibadah; if you shake somebody's hand, that’s Ibadah; when you stand at your shop, that’s Ibadah; when you give Tarbiyyah to your children, that’s Ibadah; when your daughter’s getting married, that’s Ibadah; when you're looking for a partner for your daughter, that’s Ibadah; eating chappatti - that’s Ibadah; drinking water - that’s Ibadah; going to bed - that’s Ibadah; you're meeting your wife - that’s Ibadah. In other words, every action is Ibadah and your Darajaat are being elevated in the same way as they are in that Sajdah that you prayed in Salah - you will get Thawab in the same way in those actions. There are conditions for Salah - you have to have Wudhu and clean clothes, but here, Allah says ‘I let you off. You have an open playing field - do as much as you want. Do that Ibadah as much as you want, SubhanAllah, whatever state you are in.’

Now let's look at our situation - let's see. What is the one thing have we done? What is one thing we've done for which we think we're deserving of Jannah? ‘Oh, I pray Salah, and I have just done recitation of Qur’an, so I’m going to go to Jannah, SubhanAllah.’ This can disappear in a moment - so what about the rest of our time, the 99% left? What about that Ibadah? We don't look at that. So what we should realise is that, in reality, the Ruh of the Deen is Akhlaq, conduct, manners and ettiquettes. If that has gone, then – boom; we fall to the ground, we collapse to the ground.

So let's go further now - let's progress. We are just going in order and following the sequence. So where did we start from? Look, we started this sequence with the body, and the body is decorated by the Ruh, the soul - if you have a soul, you have a body; and the body and the soul are based on and depending on what? The Deen. The Deen is the soul of both the body and the Ruh; and the soul of the Deen is Akhlaq; and our Akhlaq also has a Ruh, my brothers. Akhlaq also has a soul. Say SubhanAllah. And you may be thinking ‘Where is this Faqir taking this discussion?’ SubhanAllah. ‘Where is this discussion going?’ This is not found in Kitabs - you get these points that I am making from the depths of the heart - say SubhanAllah. Yes? You don't get these from Kitabs – this is a fact, I'm telling you.

So what is the point? It is that Akhlaq also has a soul, so the building you are constructing will be built on the basis of that Ruh. The building of Akhlaq is based on the Ruh of that Akhlaq, just as the foundation of the building supports a building. So the building is Akhlaq and the Ruh is the foundation of Akhlaq; if you have the Ruh of Akhlaq, then you've got Akhlaq, and if you've got Akhlaq, then your Deen is made, and if your Deen is made, then your body and soul are made, and if your body and soul are made, then your Iman is made. This is the sequence – Qur’an is made, and the luggage will be made and prepared for Jannah. Say SubhanAllah - look at this fantastic sequence.

So now, which Ruh do I have to explain to you now so that you understand the complete sequence? What is it? The Ruh of Akhlaq – MashaAllah, very good. So now we need to place all our emphasis and our efforts on this. Whoever makes effort on this in his life, SubhanAllah, then he has won. This is the key point that I'm telling you now - he has won the game. He has won the game. Don't look left and right, just follow Islam step by step, step by step. Allah ta’ala has said that in this Deen, you have to walk step by step. Don't follow your routes and opinions as if you are picking this dish and that dish – no. Follow the Tarteeb, the methodology. So what's the methodology? You’ve got the dishes in front of you, so follow the methodology. You know how doctors, when they cure you, tell you how you should eat the food - yes? They tell you what dish to break the fast with so that your stomach won't be upset. Follow the Tarteeb, follow the Tariqah of eating, the sequence in which the foods come - here's the roast, the meat, and a Roti is here, and the Salen is here, and here you have the sweet dish and here you have the fruit and here you have the salad and the water and the dates. Yes? Where should you start from? Where will you start from? Tell me. You’ll dive into whatever dish you like, then you'll pick this up and then you'll pick that up – no.

Follow this sequence. First, what you should do to break the fast is take the date and the water, so drink the water nicely. You'll be hungry, yes, but drink three glasses of water because after the whole day, you have an essential need for water. Remind me about the topic so that I don't forget - we're going to get back to it. I’ve just come off the track because my condition is like this at the moment. So what will you do? First of all, you should break the fast with the dates and the water, then pray Salah and go home. Then eat fruit first, because vitamins are essential - your body needs vitamins desperately at that time. You don't need salt and spices, so not Pakoras. This is the enjoyment of your body, and this is the same for the Deen. If you say ‘But I enjoy reading Qur’an’ – no, don’t follow your enjoyment – do what Allah wants; do that. SubhanAllah. That's why we don't get the nourishment, because we follow the life of enjoyment and do what we want. There’s a Hadith where Allah says ‘I've laid out that food mat for you, but eat in the method and the sequence I have given you.’ So what will the starter for the Deen be? Where will that meal end? Do you understand?

So this is the same example – it is the same methodology as for food. Yes? So eat a little bit of fruit for the vitamins, then after salad, then you'll start on what? I'll give you the sequence - start with the meat, with the Salen and the Roti, yes? Start on that - introduce your stomach to the solid food, to your chicken or meat Salen dish - don't eat the rice yet. Once you've eaten that, if you want to eat rice, eat the rice then – say SubhanAllah. Yes? When the stomach digests with this methodology, this will give you benefit. Then, when you're finished with the rice, after that we'll come to the Halwa - now put the hands towards the Halwa, SubhanAllah. Then after eating the sweet, what should you do? Then do Hamd of Allah and wipe your hands on your face, SubhanAllah, and the food will digest. Allah ta’ala has given us the Deen, and we need to follow the method and sequence that Allah has given to us for the A’maal as well. Don't follow your own planning, rather, follow Allah’s planning because everything on Allah’s food mat attracts you and you would jump from one thing to another, saying ‘Now let me eat this; now let me do this action.’ But Allah is saying ‘My Deen has a beautiful method and though everything is inviting you to do this action and that action, just follow the methodology that I desire, and you'll be successful.’

So first and foremost, what should we do and what should we see? Rather than doing deeds, remember that the big A’maal are there so that they can be accepted, so look at acceptance. The first action we should do, the one we should collect and collate is what? Which action should we start off with, which is the soul of our entire Deen? What is that? Rahm. The Ruh of Akhlaq is Rahm. What is the soul of Akhlaq? It is Rahm - mercy, mercy. Before you go to all the other actions, look to the Ruh of Akhlaq, which is Rahm - mercy. It is mercy. The foundation and the platform of the whole of Akhlaq, the entire pillar of that tall building, on which there are so many branches of Akhlaq, thousands of branches and twigs, is Rahm. If you have Rahm, then the building of Akhlaq will be sound - remember this; and if not, you'll blow on that Akhlaq and it will collapse. Yes? Then it will be Akhlaq based on your needs, your desires and your wants, tricking people, playing games. If there is no Ruh in it, then it will be fake – it won’t be genuine. But if your Akhlaq contains Rahm, then that will be the correct and solid Akhlaq. Allah says ‘If you smile at someone with true Akhlaq and look at him with kindness, then I will establish your Jannah.’

What a great thing is Akhlaq - look at this point - not fake Akhlaq, the real Akhlaq in which there's Rahm, mercy, as the established foundation of Akhlaq. So the whole situation is based on what, my brothers? On Rahm, on mercy, on kindness. So how do we attain the Rahm? Say SubhanAllah. Yes, the whole Deen and our life and our Jannah is all based on Rahm. ‘Oh Allah, what shall I do? What Mujahidah and effort can I make to instil Rahm, so that Rahm can come into my heart?’ Say SubhanAllah. ‘What tonic should I drink so that Rahm can come into me, so that my whole success can come into me?’ Allah says ‘Don't worry - don't worry.’ Allah has given us such a sentence - He's given us comprehensive success in that one sentence. SubhanAllah - in one sentence. Look how Deen is understood. That's how you start - from the bottom. Yes? And what is that sentence? Allah has announced it, and its meaning is that if you have mercy on the people of the world, the One who is in the heavens will have mercy on you! SubhanAllah. He who is in the heavens will have mercy on you. He has not mentioned any Ibadah - what has Allah said? That if you are merciful to the people of the earth, then He in the heavens will have mercy on you. SubhanAllah.

When will he do that? When will He have mercy on you? Just think, Allah’s Rahm is most essential, and we are in desperate need of it. Every human being will be desperate - every Bashar will have that need from the beginning to the end of world, and in the Akhirah when this world is destroyed when Adhab time will come, when Allah’s Court will be established, all of mankind will be stood in a line, when everybody will be holding their deeds - the Ghawth will be there, the Qutb will be there, the Wali will be there - everyone will be there with their deeds ready, waiting for the accounting, thinking ‘What's going to happen now?’ SubhanAllah – A’maal will be present, actions will be present, big, big deeds will be present. But what will we be looking at for success? Allah’s Rahmah will give success. And Allah has announced in advance ‘Who will I be merciful upon there? On those people who are merciful to the people in the world on the earth.’ Say SubhanAllah.

So here, Allah ta’ala gives everybody the chance to prepare for that time, my brothers, but we don’t do it, because we don’t follow the Tarteeb - we don’t eat the dishes in order. One person thought ‘My Qur’an is enough,’ and somebody else thought ‘This is enough for me,’ and somebody thought ‘This is enough for me.’ And we didn't have hearts to understand and we didn't have the brains to understand; if somebody did explain to us and we said, ‘Oh, he’s telling us not to read the Qur’an, and he says we’re not allowed to do Dhikr, and he's telling us not to pray Salah, and he’s telling me not to this action, and he's telling me not to give speeches, he’s telling me not to give Wa’iz.’ Isn't this the case? Tell me. We don't listen, do we, to such advice. It's not the case that there are no people for us to listen to. The Walis of Allah will come until Qiyamah to explain, but nobody wants to understand. Yes? The people will be empty and hollow - totally bone idle. They won't have Aql, and will say ‘No, no – this is the Deen, He’s talking rubbish - I want to enjoy myself.’ They won’t listen because enjoyment is what they want. ‘Oh, what enjoyment! I did this action at this time and I did another action at that time.’ It is not about enjoyment – what we need is Allah’s Radha, not enjoyment in the Deen. Do you want enjoyment, or do you want Radha? Tell me. We want the pleasure of our Maula, not enjoyment in life. Say Subhan Allah - look at the points that are being made here.

Do you get these discussions anywhere else? This is what you get at the Faqir’s headquarters – that is where you'll understand these points, at the Faqir’s headquarters. Now tell me, of those who will be standing on the Day of Judgement, who will be prepared? Will you succeed due to your A’maal? Then listen to a story if you think your A’maal will give you success. Among the Bani Isra’il, there was a Dervaish, a pious man. There were a lot of Dervaish in Bani Isra’il. The Qur’an has mentioned about Bani Isra’il - Allahu Akbar. And he said ‘I want to love Allah - I need nothing else.’ So he left the community - and this is what used to happen in the olden days - and went to the mountains into isolation; he went into a cave on a wild, barren mountain. He had nothing there - no water, just soil, dirt; there was nothing to eat or drink. So he sat there, and he started doing Dhikr of Allah – he immersed himself in the Dhikr of Allah and annihilated himself in the Ibadah that he started doing at that time.

Now Allah ta’ala saw that servant of His, and Gibreel alayhi salam said ‘Whenever we pass by, we see this man in prostration!’ Who is saying this? The Sayyid of the Mala’ika is saying this, and he added ‘We are envious of him – what a man!’ SubhanAllah. Look at his A’maal, the actions he did - the angels were proud and envious of his Sajdah. Imagine, this great angel was saying ‘When we pass by, we see him in this Ibadah and we are envious of him and proud.’ They thought ‘Subhanallah - what a great man.’ Allah ta’ala had mercy him and said ‘My servant, though he's immersed in Ibadah, can’t drink or eat. What should I prepare for him?’ Allah ta’ala immediately instructed that the spring nearby should be changed to bring forth sweet rather than bitter water, saying ‘Bring sweet water, because My servant needs to drink.’ Then Allah gave an order that the dirty trees be removed and that next to the spring, a pomegranate tree should be placed, saying ‘My servant can suck on pomegranates, on these fruits of Paradise. He can eat and drink the food and water of Paradise as well.’

So what we realise, my brothers, is that when you work hard on Allah’s path, Allah hears and He watches and He sees. Before we do I’tikaf, we say’ ‘Where will I get my chapattis during I’itkaf? Where will my food come from when I do I’tikaf? Will the people of the Masjid bring food, or should my family bring the food? I'm going into I’tikaf and it is a big action.’ We sit in a closed room Mashallah, and there is a seat there and the food is brought in. There is a menu that comes with this big action, isn't there? Yes? So even there, Allah ta’ala delivers the food. Don't worry. Don't leave I’tikaf, thinking ‘No one's going to give me food.’ Sit in I’tikaf, definitely. Say SubhanAllah. I won't stop you. Yes? Who says Hadhrat Sahib stops you from I’tikaf? Have I ever stopped anyone from I’tikaf? No, no - I don’t say no and I don’t stop anybody. Why would I need to stop anybody? So don't leave I’tikaf due to your stomach – say SubhanAllah. Don’t say ‘Oh, my stomach – I need food. How will I have my medicine? How will I fulfil that action – it is too hard. How will my shop run in those ten days?’ No, no, the dedicated worshipper from Bani Isra’il is giving you the lesson - he sat for the sake of Allah, and Allah put a tree there – He sent pomegranates to him. This is the example. When you stand for the sake of Allah, you have no need to worry about assistance and you don’t need to beg and request and plead. Don't worry at all when you stand firm. Stand for the sake of Allah, call to belief and to spread the Deen - call people as a Da’ee for the sake of Allah. Don’t call people for the sake of Allah and then beg and hold your hands out. SubhanAllah - say SubhanAllah. How can this work?

What principle is this? Have Tawakkul in Allah. If you have a connection with Allah and if you have the correct Niyyah, then I swear by Allah, if you set forth on your feet, Allah’s Rahmah will walk with you. Allah’s Rahmah will walk with you. Stand and become a Da’ee – propagate, go in the path of Allah. Don’t think ‘Oh what will happen there? I don't have things prepared at home and this and that may happen there. What about my Namaz? And what food will be cooked there?’ No, think ‘I am going to go on the path of Allah - I want to be a Da’ee.’ Become a Da’ee like this – SubhanAllah. Don’t look too far ahead and don’t look back, just walk towards your destination. Walk towards your destination. Have total Yaqeen that your food will come on time - don't think ‘Will I get any food?’ Don't worry - forget about those things. Don't have regard for any such thing. Who is responsible for you? HasbunAllahu wa Ni’mal Wakeel – Allah is the true Wakeel! He is Ni’mal Moula wa Ni’ma-n-Nasir. The Nasir, the Moula will give to you - you are on His path.

In reality, you haven't come out on the path of Allah if you have these worries and concerns. You come to get Bai’ah with a Sheikh and you come with conditions; you put conditions like ‘Oh the turnover of my shop mustn’t go down, and my children shouldn’t go off me, and this shouldn’t go down, and that shouldn’t be beyond me. I can't leave this action and I can't leave that.’ If you set preconditions, can you say that you have come to get Jannah and to become a Mureed and to become a friend of Allah? When you go to get Bai’ah, then burn the ships behind you, burn the bridges and think ‘I am not the same now – I am putting my hand into the hand of such a person, and I will follow his desire and his preference. If he says I must finish my £100,000 business and close it down, then I will throw away the keys there and then. If he tells me to stop this action, or give this house back, I’ll sell that house there and then.’

Hadhrat Bakhtiyar Kaki was a spiritual king of his time whose domain spread over many lands. Then he went to Hadhrat Mohiuddin Chishti rahmatullah alayh, SubhanAllah, and he said ‘This is an Ajeeb man! I thought I was a king, but today I have learned that my Sheikh is the real king’ - SubhanAllah. The event is a very long incident – it is a beautiful incident. I remember it right now and inshaAllah we can learn from it. ‘Inn-Allaha ‘ala Kulli Shayin Qadir.’ Time is short but I feel that I should share this Waqi’ah with you. This is a beautiful incident that occurred with Hadhrat Bhaktiya Kaki rahmatullah alayh, a beautiful incident. SubhanAllah, so he knew in his heart that his Sheikh was the king of kings, and his Sheikh made him the spiritual king of Delhi - when he passed away, he became his successor - but he became a Dervaish. Why? SubhanAllah. So when Hadhrat Bhaktiyar Kaki saw his Sheikh, he also laid down his kingship. Hadhrat Mohiuddin Chishti, the king of Hindustan, sat him down in Delhi, and I'm sharing this fact with you so that you know the Walis of Allah can tell someone from Pakistan go to Bolton, Manchester or London – he can send you there. He’ll say ‘Go and do the work of the Deen there’ and then from those places come the Qutb and Ghawth, people become Muslim, a Hindu says ‘La ilaha illa-llah’ and his mother and grandmother also embrace and say the Kalimah! Say SubhanAllah.

And me and you are Muslims from before, we are Muslims, but let's analyse today - do we have Rahm? Do you have Rahmah? If you say that you do have it, then tell me, practically, who have you given mercy to? You don't even have mercy on your son or on your children - you don't even have mercy on your mother or your father! You have left them for the sake of money as well, saying ‘Oh, let them die from Corona – they can go where they have to go.’ What love? What mercy? Allah says that Jannah lies at the foot of the mother, and your love for Jannah took you to the Jannah of the people who don't have Iman. Say SubhanAllah. Sometimes my passion is aroused. Which Deen do you have then? Tomorrow, your frail father will ask you. They say ‘No, no, no, no, he has got this and this, and I'm also sending this for him.’ He caused you to be born, did he not? Your mother - didn't she give birth to you? Did she not give you everything? Did you carry your mother on your shoulder at her Janazah when the time came? You’re not even merciful to your father or your mother, so which Qur’an are you picking up and which Sujood do you run to make? Which Salah are you running after? What luggage do you have? Tell me - what luggage do you have?

We are in the Jannah of the disbelievers and we have left our mother's Jannah. We are in the Jannah of those who don't have Iman, and we swear at our mother and are disrespectful of our father. We dishonour our father because we eat the blood from these broiler chickens from this place, and the blood that is flowing in our bodies is made from these - that's why we have enmity and hatred for our parents. Yes? When you are living in a neighbourhood, then the effect of the neighbourhood takes place - the Sohbat takes place. In this regard, the Sohbat is based on what we eat, so will the daughter not swear at the mother when she's brought up eating this and that? Whose food are we eating? They say ‘No, no, no – we came here for the Deen.’ What Deen did you come here for? If you had come for the Deen, you would have come in the manner I told you about before - I was explaining this to you before. How should they come? They should come like that Dervaish, SubhanAllah. In the Deen of the Dervaish, for example, the spring is given to him, and he gets both the water of Jannah and the tree of Jannah - pomegranates are given to him, SubhanAllah.

I won’t go much further into that, because it is a lengthy, though beautiful, issue. So brothers, the angels say ‘Ya Allah, when we go past that man, we are shocked that there's a tree of pomegranates now on that route.’ That was the tree that was planted, yes? SubhanAllah. So all the people in the Hereafter are stood in the Court of Allah, and the people will be standing there with keys. What keys will take work there? Which Qur’an will be useful? Which Salah will be useful? No A’maal will be useful. A man will be stood there in the Hereafter, every human being will be stood there with their deeds. So going back to the example, the man who did that great Ibadah - look at the state of his Ibadah - and he will also be in the line, that same man who did Ibadah like this for five hundred years. The angels were envious of him and proud of him, so tell me, what will be the Maqam of that man? He'll be there as well, and Allah will say ‘Bring him first,’ because this is not like a queue in the Dunya - this is Allah’s queue. Say SubhanAllah. So Allah will call him first, that man who in the world ate the dishes according to Allah's preference. Allah will say ‘You come first, oh man of the mountain, you who were given the pomegranate tree. And you as well, Bolton Wala, you come as well!’

May Allah call us like this as well - say SubhanAllah. Why? Because we have a hope and a desire that we have a connection with Hadhrat Sahib, Hadhrat Murtazaia - we have a connection with him. So Allah will say ‘You come here first - why are you stood in the line?’ So because he did big actions, he'll be hopeful and in his heart he will think ‘I should be called first because I did all those actions and the Ibadah.’ He’ll go ‘Who, me?’ and then he won’t look left or right, but will say ‘Am I called? Okay fine - I'm coming.’ So Allah will say ‘Yes, you come up first for your accounting. What is your Hisab? Where are you your deeds?’ Allah will be announcing this to him with His Majesty, SubhanAllah - say SubhanAllah. Say SubhanAllah again! Allah will say ‘Take him into Paradise.’ SubhanAllah – the queue will be on one side, and on the other, that young man will be going into Jannah. ‘Due to My Rahmah, take him into Paradise’ Allah will announce. Then while he's walking, the man stops and says ‘Allah. You said ‘Take him into Paradise due to My Rahmah’ – so what about my A’maal, my deeds? What about that hard work I did for five hundred years, doing Sajdah and wearing out my heels?’

This is like the Hajjis, those who do Hajj and Umrah and empty their pockets and spend their money on Hajj and Umrah. Say SubhanAllah. They say ‘I have done so many Hajj and Umrah, ya Allah!’ But Allah has stopped this, hasn’t He? Allah says ‘I will stop these Munafiqeen - I'm fed up with these people. They come along with their Haram earnings and they come to My cities and spend there.’ Allahu Akbar. People get upset when they hear what I say. They earn Haram and they drag money out of people - someone's taken his money, someone’s taken his mother's money, someone’s taken his property – and then they take that money and spend it there. Allah says ‘Stop them going to the Ka’abah. I will spread such a sickness – and what will stop? I will close the sub-branches, the Masjids as well!’ Even there, they spread this dirt and spend Haram – they use interest to run the Masjids; and the people who take that interest do so with happiness! Say SubhanAllah. This the state of affairs. I will keep on speaking about these points as well. Run away from those things that Allah has said are Haram - run away from those things that Allah has defined as Haram. Don’t spend Haram on the pure places; when you want a pure result, then weigh with what is pure and spend with what is pure - analyse the situation. SubhanAllah, Moulana Sahib said a beautiful thing yesterday, that when Hadhrat Aisha radhiAllahu anha gave charity, she used to wash her money first. She purified it, and then she spent it, saying ‘I am spending in the way of Allah.’ Allahu Akbar. But we accept everything, because we’re not going to spend it there, we’re going to go put into the box, into the box of the tummy, into the stomach - we're worried about the stomach. Don't do actions like this. Why do we waste our lives? Why do we destroy our lives?

So he said ‘Allah, I heard You say in the statement that You just said, that I should be taken into Paradise due to Your Mercy.’ I'm talking about that man, now – let’s go back to that man. He said ‘Allah you didn't mention my deeds in Your statement - You just said ‘Take him due to My mercy.’ What about my A’maal?’ Allah! Where Allah’s Rahmah had been, Ghadhab came straight away. Allah said ‘Because of this, take him by his neck and bring him back in front of Me, this man who spoke this nonsense, this rubbish! Bring him here.’ The same man who had had such a big honour, who Allah had elevated, Allah said ‘Grab him by the neck and bring him here. Do you think you're going into Paradise? What did you just say?’ He said ‘Ya Allah, I just said where are my A’maal? Where are my deeds? I did this for five hundred years, and You said Jannah was just through Your Rahmah.’ Allah said ‘Come here, come here come to the scale now. Take him to the scale.’ SubhanAllah - say SubhanAllah. Everyone's Hisab will take place, brothers. Allah didn't give the Qur’an for nothing - Allah tells us that every verse is valuable. Yes?

Allah says { فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيۡرً۬ا يَرَهُ ۥ (٧) وَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ۬ شَرًّ۬ا يَرَهُ} – Allah has given the scale, with the plus side and the minus side - every word of the Qur’an will be weighed. One atom of good will be so great that it will take you to Jannah; and one atom of evil will take you to Jahannam, to Hellfire. Even save yourself from those particles of dust, from those atoms of evil that take you towards bad - and don't leave any atom of goodness that can take you to Paradise. But we leave Dhikr of Allah and we make a fuss about those mountains upon mountains of goodness that are on offer. We say ‘No, no, I don't feel like doing it today; I didn't enjoy it today. Oh, today I'm not happy with Hadhrat Sahib – he said such words today.’ Some people get upset so quickly with my words. They say ‘Oh, my heart is down - I don't feel like doing this anymore.’ How we shut the doors and slam the doors! ‘Oh, I can't help it - I can't come; I have to go and work over there.’ They start coming, and they come for the minimum and then they leave – and then they leave for good, permanently. Is this the way you eat the dishes Allah is giving? Allah says ‘Eat the dish I give you - when I give the dish of Dhikr, then eat it and consume it Katheer, Katheer - morning and evening, consume it.’ If you eat according to the way Allah ta’ala has planned and defined, and then a person’s stomach will never be upset by illnesses ever, in any way - no way. SubhanAllah - say SubhanAllah.

Will you eat the dish the way Allah ta’ala has defined? Is this a true promise? Whoever promises, put your hands up in Ramadhan. Put your hands up - you won't run away? You will keep doing Dhikr permanently, the way Allah ta’ala says, consuming this Dhikr frequently and abundantly, always? Say ‘Oh Allah, I won't complain.’ Yes? So where is your hand? What is he thinking? His hand is bent - put your hand up straight, for when you put your hand up for Allah, Allah Himself will prepare the way for you. Don't be afraid - don't bend the arm, put it up straight! Now put your hands down – this is a true promise in Ramadhan, MashaAllah. So don't leave Dhikr – okay? Yes - good. If you accept it or not, whether you feel like it or not – okay, if there is a Shari’ah excuse, fair enough. Of course, you're excused there. You have to leave this or that Salah or even fasting sometimes. Where the Shari’ah allows, Allah says ‘Don't worry about that,’ but even with a Shari’ah excuse, even if you are lying down in your bed, Allah says ‘Start doing Dhikr there as well - I'm not stopping you.’

So Allah said ‘Come back’ and he was hauled back by the scruff of his neck. ‘Now, come to the scales.’ So he came to the scales, and Allah said to him ‘You asked the question, so now you won’t receive due to Rahmah; now it will be about your deeds. Let's send you into Paradise with your deeds, MashaAllah. Okay, let's listen to you now. You’re My servant, you’re a pious man. How can I not support you? You kept on calling me and I kept on listening to you, didn’t I? Did I listen to you?’ ‘Yes - yes, Allah.’ Allah said, ‘Okay, fine. So in the Dunya I gave you provision from Jannah. You wanted Jannah water – I gave you Jannah water. You wanted the pomegranate tree, so I gave you pomegranates. So I will listen to you today as well, no problem. So you said that you wanted to go to Paradise due to your A’maal – so let’s have a look at your A’maal.’ Never rely on your A’maal – what will they benefit you? Listen here. Listen – this is the same subject.

So Allah said ‘Come, My son’ - so he was stood there. Allah said ‘Right – open the scales now. So one side are your good deeds, all your A’maal of five hundred years, and what goes on the other side? My Ni’mahs are placed there!’ SubhanAllah, SubhanAllah. ‘Why? Because who gave you food? Allah. Who gave you chappatis? Allah gave them. Who stood you up for worship? Allah. Who took you to the mountain? Allah. Who gave you the pomegranate tree? Allah. Who gave you your hands? Allah. Who gave you a brain? Allah. Who gave you ears? Allah. Who gave you eyes? Allah. If you didn't have eyes, would you be able to read Qur’an? No. If you didn't have eyes, could you Sajdah? No – you need them to do everything. Who gave you those eyes? Okay fine - let's talk about eyes first.’ Say SubhanAllah. So Allah said ‘Let's do justice on the eyes first - nothing else, just the eyes. Let's start with the eyes on their own.’ Say SubhanAllah. So here now – never mind about the spring. We put glasses on, don’t we? Allah says ‘Let's start with the eyes - we'll leave the rest for afterwards. {وَإِن تَعُدُّواْ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحۡصُوهَآ‌ۗ } Allah says ‘Who can enumerate My Ni’mahs?’ Let's start counting and thinking. So Allah says ‘We spoke about the eyes - let's just talk about the eyes.’

The Rabb and His servant are talking, discussing, Subhanallah. ‘Okay, so let's do Hisab of the eyes that I gave you. Put your eyes on one scale and all of your five hundred years’ worth of Ibadah on the other.’ So he put on the scale, one by one, all of the Ibadaat he had done - his Salah went in, his fasting went in, his Hajj went in, his Dhikr in isolation went in, his pleading went in, his crying went in. We have got not one day, not two days, not three days - my brothers, how much Ramadhan do we have? Thirty days we're spending – look at the Ibadah we are doing in thirty days; we realise the intensity involved. So we realise now – not two days but thirty, and we’ll sit in Itikaf for ten days as well, and in those ten days we will realise what Ibadah is. And in the end, you'll feel like ‘Whew, those ten days have finished, so let’s get out of here. Let's look for the moon of Eid!’ Isn't it like that? You wait, don’t you, after ten days and keep on looking out, asking ‘Has it been announced yet? Has anywhere in the world announced that it’s Eid yet?’ We get tired after ten days, but look at the level of that individual –he did Ibadah for five hundred years while sat in the jungle wilderness. He gave up his Shahawat, he left his wife, he left his passions, he left his lust, he left his money, he left his desires and his sons and daughters and children. He didn't taste anything - he didn't even get married. He didn't have that taste. He didn't have the taste of anything in the world, not for one year, not two years, not three years - my brothers, he spent five hundred years of life like that! Say SubhanAllah - imagine the sacrifice.

Is this a small thing? Tell me. So what does My Rabb say? ‘Put his five hundred years of Ibadah into the scale and even more Ibadah on top!’ Look at that. Is our Salah Khalis and pure, me and you? Was our Hajj Khalis? Was our Qur’an reading and our Khatums of Qur’an Khalis? Is my Imamat Khalis? Is my Dhikr Khalis? Is it pure? Is my speech pure? I may think I know, but Allah knows best. Allah will scan every action, and nothing will be pure in our book of deeds - nothing at all. Nothing will come out pure. We think we have done everything, but what does Allah state? ‘He did five hundred years of worship, and I guarantee that I'm measuring that five hundred years of Ibadah on the scale!’ Forget the Ibadah that me and you do, this is about his Ibadah. Allah is saying ‘Let us weigh his Ibadah that was full of Ikhlas and purity - it was accepted Ibadah. Let's put that on the scale.’ What is this being measured against, my brother? Against what? Allah selected one Ni’mah - what Ni’mah was that? Eyesight, vision! May Allah forgive!

May Allah illuminate our eyes, and may Allah illuminate their hearts of those whose eyes are illuminated, because the sight of the heart is more important. Don't worry. Don't worry, SubhanAllah. If Allah ta’ala makes us lose out on something, then SubhanAllah, Allah compensates the vision of his eyes with such a great vision in the Hereafter, such a great vision in the Hereafter that the whole world will be shocked by his eyesight, SubhanAllah. But the point is, whatever dish Allah gives, eat it with the right methodology. If Allah ta’ala gives us our eyes, then open them, eat with them and be happy. And you shouldn’t complain even if you're blind - even then be grateful and don't make your heart tight. Don't make your heart tight in regard to the glory of Allah. Be grateful to Allah and millions and millions of times over, think ‘Oh Allah, this is Your Hikmah, Your Karam, Your Rahmah, Your mercy. If you've taken this Ni’mah of eyesight away from me, this is all from Your glory. I don't need anything apart from You to be happy with me. Just be happy with me - that's enough.’ That's it. SubhanAllah. ‘Even then, Allah be happy with me. Oh Allah, take my mother into Paradise because she reared me and raised me in this way. The wife may have left me, my family might have left me, but my mother gave me my food when I was in that condition. She gave me water and she would wake me up. Oh Allah, in compensation for all of this, I request simply and plead to You that You please take my mother into Jannah.’ Allahu Akbar. That man is successful.

But what do we do today? We say ‘What can we do? I'm stuck here so I can't help my mother.’ There is no ‘I’m stuck’ - turn your heart to Allah, because every action is based on Allah’s acceptance and Allah’s favour. We can never repay the favours of Allah. SubhanAllah, even a person who doesn't have an eye cannot repay the favour because you will get the compensation for that missing eye - you cannot even imagine the compensation that Allah will give. Say Takbir – Allahu Akbar, Allah is the greatest. Allah is the Greatest – SubhanAllah. Allah is so great that He doesn’t do Dhulm on anyone; Allah doesn't oppress anyone. If Allah takes something from someone, He's not doing Thulm or oppression; rather He is showing Rahmah on top of Rahmah - say SubhanAllah. Allah says ‘Oh my son, come. Come, take your eye out now. Take your eye out and put it on the scale. Now we'll understand the Ni’mah of that eye!’ And when the Hisab is taken, where will the person who had no eyes go? SubhanAllah. The person who didn't have an eye will be stood in that line and will run into Paradise. We'll be watching him, saying ‘Oh, brother, come back. Come back. Where are you going brother?’ He’ll say ‘Oh, you stay there. You used to play games in the world with your eyesight, you used to enjoy yourself. This is Allah’s Karam for this Ni’mah that Allah didn't give me.’ He was several years down the line – you have to wait one thousand years on the Day of Judgement - but the servant of Allah who didn't have eyesight will run into Paradise to his Hoors at that time. SubhanAllah. He will see the reward then.

This is just a few days of test here in the world, brothers - just a few days of test. Don't complain. The time of someone enduring a test will pass as well, SubhanAllah, and the person who didn’t get that test, his time will pass as well, but the real time is that time on the Day of Judgement. That's the real time, and that cannot be seen today. If we see someone whose son is disabled so that he's upset and distressed, don't worry. My Rabb is there for both me and for him also. Do you think Allah does not have mercy on that person whose son is disabled? If Allah has taken something from him, then Allah will give him Rahmah millions of times over for that. Why are you feeling pity for him? Why are you feeling sorry for him? Rather he will have pity on you because you did not get a chance to the Khidmah that he did. Allah will give you Jannah if you serve him here in this world. Allah will give so much to human beings. And that person is afraid that if he brings him to the Masjid, people will talk nonsense. He says ‘How can we take him to the Masjid?’ – or someone says ‘You can’t take him to the Masjid.’ Who are you to say you can't take him to the Masjid? The angels walk with that person, SubhanAllah. The angels walk with that person, so don't worry. So say ‘Come on son, don't worry.’

All deeds are based on Akhlaq. That person did five hundred years of Ibadah and we think we will be successful if ten days of I’tikaf are accepted – say SubhanAllah. If one fast is accepted, we think we will be successful. He said ‘Oh Allah where are those five hundred years of A’maal that I did?’ Allah said ‘Put them on one scale, and on the other side, just put the eyes that I gave you.’ How many Ni’mahs has Allah given? Allah ta’ala will not take us to task for any Ni’mah. Allah did not say to him ‘I gave you this Ni’mah or I gave you that Ni’mah, or I gave you this mercy or I gave you that gift and the other treasure’ – no. {لَا تُحۡصُوهَآ } Allah says ‘You cannot imagine what Ni’mahs I gave to you and which Ni’mah I will bring in front of you and put on your scales. There are millions of these - you cannot count them, and you’ll lose count if you try. Never mind you, if your whole nation were to start counting the Ni’mahs that I have given, they would not be able to. No man from the beginning to the end of time can count them!’ Imagine - say SubhanAllah. Such are the Ni’mahs of Allah.

So the eyes were put into the scale and those five hundred years of Ibadah evaporated like thin air - you couldn’t even see where they had gone. He said ‘Allah! Where have my deeds gone? Look - every deed has gone.’ And the scale with the eyes in it became heavy and all his deeds became light, and then he started shaking and trembling and looking left and right, left and right, looking ahead, looking behind. He said ‘Oh Allah, there's nothing left! My deeds have evaporated forever; they have been eliminated, they are gone, dissipated, blown away. The speeches have flown away, my Qur’an has flown away, all my pleading and Duas and five hundred years of prostration have evaporated; my Ruku’ has gone, my Sajdah has gone!’ He was shocked – ‘Where has everything gone? Where have my deeds gone Ya Allah?’ All that was written for him was zero - zero in every column - while the scale with the eyes in it was heavy. Allah said ‘Look my son, keep going. Keep putting your good deeds in, more and more - bring more deeds, more deeds, more deeds and try to make your scale heavy.’ He put his hands together, saying ‘My Maula, oh Allah - forgive me! Allah, please forgive me - forgive me!’ Allah said ‘Come and ask Me now. Come back to the people and ask Me - beg. Go back to those people whose queue I took you out of. Raise your hands there.’ He stood in front of Allah, saying ‘Oh Allah, what do you want? Allah forgive me - I made such a big mistake, oh Allah!’ Allah ta’ala said ‘Ask those people. I gave you such a deed in the Dunya, such an Amal which, if you were steadfast on it, I, your Rabb, promise you today that you will go into Paradise without Hisab, laughing and smiling.’ He said ‘Tell me, my Maula - what is that deed? What is the action?’

Allah said ‘The final Prophet will tell you which path won't put you into hardship. I'll give you an easy way that will take you into Paradise laughing and smiling. How? Do Dhikr of Allah on your mattress - sit down with ease and do Dhikr. Your Rabb likes your Dhikr so much that He will send you into Paradise without Hisab, laughing and smiling!’ SubhanAllah! But today, when I say ‘Do Dhikr,’ they say ‘No, I don't want to do Dhikr - I don't enjoy it. I don't have time - I have to go to work. How will I run my business? How will I see my wife and my children?’ What can I say about the Hal of such a person? Allah says ‘Oh My servants, eat the dishes have given to you! Live your life according to that, and inshaAllah, you will have success beyond success.’ SubhanAllah.

Do you understand your fasting today? Tell me the truth. If this fast increased even more, I'd be happy, my friends. Do you feel like eating food or drinking now? Do you want to eat dates and drink water now? Say SubhanAllah. Today, I feel like ‘Oh Allah, put the sun back a bit more so we can speak a bit more - I'm enjoying myself, SubhanAllah! Oh Allah, announce that today we will break the fast after Isha.’ This is the Dua we make! Are you ready to carry on with the talk today? InshaAllah. SubhanAllah. This is the nature of the words of Allah - how much enjoyment will we get in the Hereafter if Allah’s words and His Qur’an are recited? But we have never read the Qur’an properly and we don't understand the Qur’an.

Anyway, we've left the point I was making unfinished - beautiful points were coming. So he puts his hand together and he stands. Allah says ‘My son, tell me now - what will take you into Paradise?’ He puts his hands together and he said ‘Oh my Maula, oh my Rabb, only one thing will take me into Paradise, and that is Your Rahmah, Your mercy! Allah – only Your Rahmah, Your mercy!’ So look at the beauty! What does he know about what Rahmah is? The Ummah of Muhammad have got this reward, whose beloved Nabi has announced ‘If you are merciful to people in the world, He who is in the heavens will have mercy on you.’ The Ummah of Muhammad will be stood, SubhanAllah, on the Day of Judgement and they'll be going into Jannah, one by one, one by one, and the Hisab will be closed – no Hisab. All the other Ummahs will say ‘Allah who is this Ummah running into Jannah, running into Paradise?’ And Allah will announce loudly ‘If you had mercy in the world, I will be merciful to you in the Hereafter.’ SubhanAllah.

We should be the people of Rahmah and feed the poor and take distress away from people - and consider this as Ibadah in the world. We should consider it as Ibadah that we stay hungry ourselves while we feed other people. Do you do this Ibadah today? No - we don't even give our father any money and we don't give our mother any money. We just count and count. ‘Do you want money today, mother? No money for you today - I haven't had much turnover today. If I keep giving money to you and dad, what money shall I give to my wife?’ Yes?
