Each Sunnah grants a person the complete deen. One example of the Sunnah is for one individual to love another individual. This is a great Sunnah of Nabi ﷺ. If we practice upon this, our entire society would become brilliant and harmonious.
Without love there is no progress. However, there are different reasons to love. Sometimes a person loves another person due to an objective, or due to his deeds, or due to greed, or beauty. Perhaps a person loves another due to his relationship to him.
However, the practice of loving others as part of the Sunnah is a deep rooted practice and it is full of sincerity. This connection can never break. Other forms of love are temporary, for example, when a relationship breaks down, then the love ends.
This love that the Prophet ﷺ has taught us, should be such that we love each other sincerely because genuine love is when one displays sincerity towards each other.
If someone in society is in distress or difficulty, the sincere love a person holds for him will cause him to assist the needy.
"A man was with the Prophet (ﷺ) when another man passed by and the former said: "O Messenger of Allah! I love this man (for Allah's sake)". Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asked, "Have you informed him?" He said, "No". Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then said, "Tell him (that you love him)". So he went up to the man and said to him, "I love you for the sake of Allah;" and the other replied, "May Allah, for Whose sake you love me, love you." [Abu Dawud].
When you love someone for the sake of Allah ta'ala, this connection things becomes strong and it does not break. We should develop such bonds of love between us. As a result, this love will never end and Allah ta'ala will also begin to love us.
We should implement the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ and develop love for the sake of Allah ta'ala. This love is a continuous love which continues until qiyamah.
Hadhrat Muadh ibn Jabal Radiyallahu Anhu narrates in Tirmidhi and Ahmad Shareef, that Allah ta'ala says, "It is compulsory for me to love that person who loves others for My sake and He gathers together with others to remember Me."
How do we develop love for the sake of Allah ta'ala?
When you gather together to remember Allah ta'ala, then this love will be instilled within you.
The Sufis gather in the Khankah and each of them are from different backgrounds and speak different languages. When guests arrive at the Khankah, every man would meet them and shake their hand and make sacrifices to serve this guest. This is the result of Allah ta'ala instilling pure love between the people.
There is a beautiful environment in the Khankah and the love between the students is greater than the love one has for his own relatives. The students help one another. Shaytan will create enmity and differences between them, but even if there are differences present, it is quickly replaced with love.
This is the blessing which is attained via dhikr. When love is developed enmity disappears.
It does not matter how far we are sat apart today, the name of Allah ta'ala is very powerful and one can attain many blessings via it.
Today, all of us became very eager and excited upon hearing the news of attending the dhikr gatherings once again. This is due to the love we possess. This is the same love which is mentioned in the hadith.
We go to magicians to seek love although the root of achieving love is to love Allah ta'ala. In return all of creation will love you.
The dhikr of Allah ta'ala carries a lot of blessings that beautiful emotions are developed. It creates the love for Allah ta'ala and when this is developed Allah ta'ala loves the Dhaakir.
May Allah ta'ala allow us to implement. Ameen
