DARS 24

Surah Al-Baqara Ayah 26
In the previous verse Allah subhana wa ta’ala presented and explained two things to us; the conditions of hell and also the situation in paradise. These verses are very beneficial for this age and condition that we are living in. Allah ta’ala mentions in this verse with regards to the people on the haq (truth) and the people on falsehood, and Allah explains their situation. Allah says this is the age of (fitan) mischief, evil and wrongdoing. May Allah allow us to depart this world with imaan (belief). To have imaan in this day and age is very difficult because evil is falling down like rain. Different scenarios are arising day and night. New fitan, new challenges, new sins and new forces of evil. Shaytan and nafs are working full-time to affect human beings. May Allah ta’ala protect the Imaan of all of us.
Allah subhana wa ta’ala has given a beautiful method via His beloved Habeeb sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for the person who has imaan, as long as we have concern and worry. We have been given such a beautiful and simple solution, that even if today we have an honest heart and do amal on the Prophet sallalhu alayhi wa sallam’s advice, then Alhamdulillah through Allah Ta'ala's mercy, generosity and blessings we will have full hope, insha'Allah, to depart this world with Imaan. My brothers the truth of the matter is that the people of imaan should never be affected. Just like a person who may get ill; if his immune system is strong then no disease will affect him. The most important thing is a persons’ immune system. If a person has a weak immune system, then he is affected by different illnesses like cough and flu etc. However, If his immune system is strong then those illnesses do not impact him. So the imaan of a human being should be so strong, robust and solid that any concern of fitnah or mischief or issue of the world should not affect him. Allah’s Nabi sallalahu alayhi wa sallam has given us such a beautiful formula and method that the people of imaan should not be worrying about anything. Whatever comes their way in life; highs and lows. Even if Dajjal was to come - he will come in the days ahead and Allah knows - the best solution is that the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa salam said that I am leaving with you 2 things. The holy Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa salam is giving guarantee that if we hold those 2 things with firmness, then Allah's Nabi sallalahu alayhi wa salam said I tell you with guarantee that no way will you be affected or deviated. You won't come off the track and you will depart the world with Imaan. What a big guarantee and assurance! What are those 2 things that the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa salam said; Kitabullah wa Sunnah-te-Rasulullah sallalahu alayhi wa sallam. Now fitnah arises in the world and society for this reason that there is no balance with the 2 things and assets that the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa sallam left with us. We don’t keep them in balance. A person will hold on to the Quran with strong grip and say; ‘I don’t need anything else’. Although the fact is that both are intertwined; you cannot do amal upon the Quran unless you follow the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa sallam’s Sunnah. You cannot follow the Quran. So, Allah's Nabi sallalahu alayhi wa sallam said I am leaving with you 2 things; Kitabullah wa Sunnah-te-Rasulullah sallalahu alayhi wa sallam. If we hold onto these 2 things tightly and properly then, Alhumdulilah, all praise be to Allah we will never be deviated, and we will never come off the tracks. No external influence will affect us. But when the immune system of the imaan is weak, then it will accept all wrongdoing. It doesn't matter where you go insha'Allah your Imaan will be strong if you have both things with you. No place, no society, no environment will affect you. You can go anywhere but only if you keep these 2 things in balance. If a person deviates, it doesn’t matter where you are, you could be in an Islamic country but if you leave these 2 things then you will be more deviated then if you were in a non-Islamic environment. Those who grab hold of these 2 things in the non-Islamic environment, and they have these 2 things in balance then nothing can affect them. That's what it is, if you have these 2 resources; Kitabullah wa Sunnah-te-Rasulullah then there is nothing to be afraid of because the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa sallam has guaranteed this. So the problem boils down to this that we must not leave these 2 things.
Allah Ta’la says in this verse in a beautiful way that the people of haq and the people of falsehood are differentiated, and the definition is laid out. If you and I have worry for the hereafter and our Imaan than we should think. You should think, I should think, we all should think and that's why we are reading the Quran; that who are the people of Haqq and who are the people of baatil? Now maybe I consider myself to be in the group of haq (truth) but I could actually be in the falsehood group. When we read this verse of the Quran and we analyse ourselves and compare ourselves and look at ourselves, Alhumdulillah we will realise how much we are on the wrong and how much we are on the right. The Quran is telling us straightforwardly. Whoever has the desire and the zest and the want to improve his imaan, he will learn. Allah Ta’ala’s doors are open, the doors of mercy are open, and we should try.
I have seen people; youngsters at the age of 19 in the day's gone. Over the phone people have spoken and improved. A person said his life had changed, and his world had changed. He said he had obtained the haq and realised the truth. And as a result, everyone in the world went against him. I am talking about a person in another country, not here. But he stuck to it solidly Alhamdulillah. SubhanAllah, He said that he was in an Islamic country and he was attaining guidance from here over the phone. So the point is, if you and I have the intention to improve then then these things around us will not affect us.
Before this Allah Ta’ala told us the environment of hell. Who would want to go to hell? After this Allah Ta’ala described jannah (paradise). This is part of our imaan we must remember this. To have belief and faith in paradise and hell is part of our imaan. To believe in heaven and hell and whatever is in there. We cannot reject in any way or form the reality of paradise and hell. So let's see what difference Allah mentions. The people of haq are those people who believe in the truth and accept the truth. What is the truth? The verses we are looking at have this explanation and we also have the beautiful explanation of the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa sallam via the hadeeth. We accept both from the depths of our hearts. What did Rasulullah sallalahu alayhi wa sallam say was the sign of truth? What is the truth that we need to stay steadfast on?
We have been told very clearly that this is the Kitab, the Quran, in which Allah subhana wa ta’ala has prescribed to us, instructed us about Halal and Haraam. Whatever has been defined as haraam we must accept it, and what has been defined as Halal we must accept it. Say subhanAllah, the Nabi of Allah sallahu alayhi wa salam has defined for us what is haq (truth). Whatever Rasulullah sallalahu alayhi wa sallam said is halal, we must accept it as halal. And whatever Rasulullah sallalahu alayhi wa sallam said is haraam, we must accept it as haraam. That’s it; that’s all we need to do. So this is the first point to accept halal and haraam. And then the next thing is the ahkaam; the orders and instructions that we must follow. If something is being told as halal then implement that, and if another thing is haraam then implement that. We must do amal. We need to practically implement the orders of the Quran. This is the haq, and how long has this haq been going on for? Since the time of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and this will continue until qiyaamah, subhanAllah. This is called bringing imaan, bringing about faith, implementing the faith. This is the haq and path of truth. So firstly halal, secondly to accept lawful and unlawful and thirdly to live your life according to halal and haraam. In other words obeying the orders of Allah's instructions, the ahkaam. The person who is steadfast upon this and has established himself. He will say 'aamanna wa sadqana;’ ‘I hear and I believe.’ When he is told what halal and haraam is, it does not matter what the people around him are doing. He will say ‘I cannot leave this. Whatever is unlawful, is unlawful, and it doesn’t matter if the people around him change, if the generation changes, he says 'I cannot change myself.’
Allah says do not worry I am with you, My assistance is with you and my hand is on your shoulder. When you promise that you will consider Halal as Halal, and Haraam as Haraam, then I am with you, My assistance is with you, don't worry. No need to worry You are not on your own and you can have certainty. So when any problem arises there is no need to worry what so ever. A person who sticks to these points, he is from the ahl al haq. He is not from the ahl al baatil. He is not from the people of falsehood.
So who are the people of falsehood who are on the wrong path? The hadeeth explain everything to us in depth. All the hadeeth; the sihah sita, the 6 authentic narration books, they describe halal and haraam and nothing is hidden. Everything has arrived to us. What is Halal, what is Haraam and what is the severity. What should we leave, what should we reject and what should we practise. How to sit, and how not to sit. Who is Mahram and who is non-Mahram. Who is lawful for us to see and sit with, and who is unlawful for us to see and sit with. Everything is clear so what is the problem? What's the issue then?
Regarding these things we must see if we are living our lives according to our desires. When we see that the deen is not according to our desires and we find it hard to practise we think to ourselves ‘what should we do’, and that’s when fitnah arises and evil and mischief starts to set in. We start to think it’s too hard to practise Islam and If we do this then we will lose this from the world. If I do this, then I will lose out from that, and people will say this about me. If I practise I will have a loss from the world. When a person starts to think like this then he starts to complain, criticise, make excuses and present his opinions. He presents his thoughts and excuses and criticism. How can a haraam thing be halal? Everything is so clearly defined, but still he starts to complain and make excuses. He makes lame excuses. In a weird way he starts to present those excuses. He wants to please his desires. And this is not just a problem of today, this generation and thinking, this ideology started from the time of the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa sallam. This verse was revealed for this reason, that there will be people like this, and they will continue until qiyaamah, the day of judgement. The verses were revealed for this purpose and Allah ta’ala challenged them that if you don’t accept this Quran then bring forward a verse or small surah that can compare. Make as much effort as you like. Allah challenged them but what could they do. The rejectors could not understand, they could not accept that challenge and they were not capable. So what did they do? And those same actions we are continuing today. This ideology has not ceased. The Quran explains how this group of ahl Al baatil came about. When they complained and criticised and couldn’t come forward with a verse or surah equivalent to the Quran, they said ‘what is this challenge?’ And then they started another satanic action which has continued until today. In this day and age, you will see this action which is at its heights may Allah ta’ala forgive us. We have to save ourselves from this. When I am reading the Quran, I am not criticising anyone or mocking anyone. I don’t know who is sitting and listening to this, I am not speaking about anyone directly and am not addressing anyone. I am reading the Quran for my own islah, for my rectification and improvement so Allah ta’ala can save us from this fitnah. The conditions are very severe and difficult.
So as I was saying when the people couldn't come up with a verse that could equate to the Quran they started another satanic action. Shaytan put in their mind to complain against the orders that were revealed in the Quran. They would criticise the ayahs in weird ways.

۞إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَسۡتَحۡيِۦٓ أَن يَضۡرِبَ مَثَلٗا مَّا بَعُوضَةٗ فَمَا فَوۡقَهَاۚ

Allah Says; Allah does not feel ashamed to give the similitude of a gnat or something that is higher in degree than that. This was in response to the people who challenged and said that if Allah is a great power, and you are saying the Quran is a great kitab, then why is Allah speaking about such a small thing like a gnat or a mosquito?
Is this revelation, they asked; does it make sense if Allah is so supreme and powerful and the Quran is so great that He is going to give the example of a gnat or a mosquito or a spider. They started to complain that these are small points that Allah is mentioning in the Quran. Is this revelation they said. How can this be when minor insignificant things like insects are being mentioned. So this was their Nifaq, their hypocrisy. When Allah set-out His ahkams, He set-out the halal and haraam but our nafs does not want to accept this. We don’t want to do that and practice, but also we want to present ourselves as Muslims. So they started an alternative way and ideology. They started to say ‘How can this not be halal, how can this be wrong, this is too difficult. This is not what the Quran is saying. You are misunderstanding the Quran and this is not the case.’
The Quran has stated in detail in these verses. Because Allah ta'ala is laying the foundations because the main point for a Muslim is to solidify his aqeedah. This is a big fitnah of this age that people are fully aware of Islam but with full force they won't accept it. They will say this is too hard, their mind doesn’t understand this, or this doesn’t suit their lifestyle. They will say ‘This is not compatible with our lives today. How can we practise this today. It’s not possible. We need to live with the times and the age. We can’t do this. It all too difficult.’
Allahs nabi sallalahu alayhi wa sallam said this will be the game that will be played. These are the tricksters. Neither do they want to leave the deen and neither do they want to embrace it, rather they have brought a new deen; that they will live their lives according to their desires and not implement the Quranic injunctions.
Hadhrat Hudhayfa RadyAllahu anhu stated that Rasulullah sallalahu alayhi wa sallam said that in my Ummah it will so happen that I have made alcohol unlawful, but they will make excuses. People will say ‘it’s just a sweet drink, it's got a little bit of alcohol in it, but it's like a sweet drink, it’s a leisure drink. How can we stop, everyone is drinking it.’ Rasulullah sallalahu alayhi wa sallam said they will try to change the deen in this way. A person will say ‘I don’t need to do purdah because she is my cousin, so I don’t need to create a barrier with her. She is my first cousin, so its ok. Come on, we’re both young and grew up together.’ The Quran orders us not to go before the non-mahram but instead we change the deen. The Quran is informing us about the ahl al baatil who try to twist and turn the deen according to their desires. They want to change and modify the principles of the Quran. Let’s pray that we do not become like this.
The Quran is saying and the hadeeth of the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa sallam is telling us that people will behave like this. They will say that alcohol is similar to coke in look and in taste. They will claim that they are not taking interest but rather it’s a transaction of profit. They will say alcohol is a leisure drink and that ribah is profit and it makes no difference if we take ribah. We see there are so called Islamic countries that have twisted the deen. What a big punishment there is for ribah and alcohol. If we look at the sketch of our lives it will all revolve around these things. There is a massive punishment for a woman who leaves home without an excuse. What a big punishment. What more can I say, it’s all before you all to see our situation and condition. The actions that we are implementing and the ahzaab we are seeing as a result; It is like hellfire. We can see what is happening with our generation and we should analyse ourselves and ask what is the punishment for what I am doing? We should ask ourselves. By changing the name of the sin, it doesn't mean the punishment disappears. We can call interest profit, but the fact remains that interest is interest, and profit is profit. Ribah is ribah. When it comes to giving and taking a bribe we say this is just a gift. Yet a gift is such a great thing, that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam instructed to give and accept gifts so that love can be enhanced and increased. This is not the same as a bribe is it! For example, if you take a gift home to your wife, she will be happy and you will get good food the next day; you will get some nice sweet dish and a cold drink too. You will get a mango lassi because you have given her a gift. So love has gone into the heart and sincerity has entered the heart of the wife, SubhanAllah. Yet we try to change the name of a bribe to a gift. In the same way, we will use the word zakat in the wrong way. We will say this is a tax and we will say we are paying our taxes. We say we are giving money to the government and It’s the same thing, in those days they used to call it Zakat, but now it’s called something else. The Nabi of Allah sallalahu alayhi wa sallam is saying that this is all haraam that people will be doing because we are changing the deen. The Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa sallam said this is when destruction will come, and yet we will call this progression. These are the people of falsehood. There is rejection after rejection. So when did this all start? This all started at that time;

۞إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَسۡتَحۡيِۦٓ أَن يَضۡرِبَ مَثَلٗا مَّا بَعُوضَةٗ فَمَا فَوۡقَهَاۚ

SubhanAllah, they criticised saying why Allah is using the example of gnats and mosquitos and insects. They said how can this be a great kitab if Allah is using these examples, Naoozo Billah. Allah says that He is not ashamed of using the similitude of a gnat or a mosquito or anything higher or lower than this. Allah further says

فَمَا فَوۡقَهَاۚ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ فَيَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡۖ

For the people on the Haq whatever is mentioned in the Quran, whether it be an ant or a mosquito, all of these things are truth for the people of Imaan. Allah Ta’ala’s wisdom is clear to see in the Quran. How can a person reject and complain and criticise the Quran? How can a person criticise Allah ta’ala’s deen and revelation? The question does not even arise! The people of truth will say ‘this is Quran and that is the end of it. How can I change it. How can I modify it for my preference and my suitability?’
Hadhrat Umar bin Khataab Radhyllahu anhu, may Allah be pleased with him stated; We were sat in the gathering of the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa sallam when an individual came and sat down and asked; ‘Ya Rasulullah what is imaan?’ - SubhanAllah the people of truth - The Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa salam replied that imaan is to believe in Allah, His angels, His kitabs, His messengers, to believe in death and the day of reckoning, to believe in paradise and hell and to believe in destiny. All of these things are part of imaan. If we take any of these things out and reject them then we will come out of the fold of Islam. We will become free of Islam because all of these things are part of Islam and by rejecting, we will join the people of ahl al baatil, the people of falsehood. We can’t take any of these things out. If a person says; ‘I don't believe in any of these pillars of Islam. I will only accept jannah if it has things according to my desires,’ then in fact this person does not accept jannah because it is not in-line with his preference. A person may utter words like; ‘I don’t believe in hell and I don’t believe in death. How can I believe that a person will go into the grave and be punished in the grave? How can there be hell, and how can people burn in hell? Why would people burn? Why should I believe in paradise? I would not like to go into such a paradise and I don’t believe in it.’ Can a person who utters these things be a Muslim? No, such a person comes out of the fold of Islam. He comes out of the circle of Islam. This is called fisq, evil and there are three levels of fisq. The biggest level is when a person rejects a wajib action that is compulsory. When a person rejects these things, he becomes a disbeliever. He has come out of the fold of imaan. Why? Allah ta'ala gives the example of this. Allah says they criticise. Allah says they do not like the similitude of gnats and mosquitos. Allah than says

Allahu akbar, the believers certainly know this similitude is correct has been sent down from their Lord. Whilst the disbelievers ask what did Allah mean by this similitude. They criticise, and mock and look-down. If an order comes, then how can a human-being present his own thoughts? They say 'how can this be, why is Allah using this example'. Today our whole society is doing this. ‘No its too hard, what is this, how can we be expected to do this. How can I tell my son to do this and not do the this. How can I tell him to do this, and her to do this.’ This verse was sent down for those same people from day one who criticised, that how can Allah use these examples of a mosquito, and why should they believe in this Quran that gives similitudes of insects. Yet the people of truth say whatever verse Allah reveals, be it about purdah, or hijab, or alcohol, or ribah, or immodesty, or woman staying at home. Whatever orders Allah ta’ala has revealed where he has differentiated between halal and haraam they will accept it. For women they must observe pardah and they must know what is Halal and what is Haraam and make their home environment correct.
If we follow half of the deen and leave half of the deen, do half and leave half, then Allah says this is Fisq, evil-doing and evil actions. Allah-hu-akbar, Allah says; ‘Wa ma yu-dhillu bi hee, illal faasiqeen.’ And He does not lead anyone astray except the people on the wrong path who are the fasiqeen, the evil doers. The people of imaan can never do wrong, or look down or criticise, or go against the Quran. They will accept halal to be halal and haraam to be haraam. We cannot reject those things that Allah ta’ala has made waajib upon us. We cannot reject death, or prophethood, or the angels or the day of reckoning, or the grave, or destiny and taqdeer, or hell or heaven. A person cannot reject any of these things otherwise he will become what? People will say ‘no, no we don’t need to follow any of this, where is this written that we need to do this. We don’t believe this, Islam is not that hard’ This is the answer people will give. When Allah ta’ala gives them the order they will not even give the answer. As is stated in the Quran;

۞إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَسۡتَحۡيِۦٓ أَن يَضۡرِبَ مَثَلٗا مَّا بَعُوضَةٗ فَمَا فَوۡقَهَاۚ

They will say how can Allah Ta’ala give an example the similitude of a gnat or a mosquito. They criticised this, they looked down at this and couldn't accept this.
Allah’s deen is clear, transparent and simple. The ahkams have been revealed in the Quran. Allah's Nabi sallalahu alayhi was sallam has explained in detail and the noble companions have delivered the message to us. And Allah created His pious special servants who were given the knowledge of ludani and divine inspiration. Imam Abu Hanifa and Imam Malik, the great fuqahaa and scholars who dissected the deen, and looked into the deen in detail and made it so easy so nothing was hidden. Such great personalities came in the history of Islam. So after all this we can’t make futile excuses to leave some parts of the Quran. Make some things halal and make some things haraam. Make one law here and make another law in Saudia Arabia. In Meccah we will observe pardah and hijaab, and tasbees will come into our hands, but as soon as we arrive back to the plane, we will leave all the deen and we will return to the attire that we wore before we embarked on that trip. We simply go back to our norms. So what type of deen is this Allah asks. These are the same people that rejected the Quran as mentioned in this verse. Allah makes it clear about these people. They challenge the example that Allah has given in the Quran.

They questioned why Allah gave an example like this. They said what is this example that Allah ta'ala has given. Is this some point to make. Is this something for Allah to say. What did Allah mean by thus similitude? They questioned and criticised and the same people are here today who put forward their own opinions and these people are at their peak in these times. They are at their pinnacle. They spread mischief and criticise Allahs deen. They say this is not deen, where is this written. Allah replies to them;

يُضِلُّ بِهِۦ كَثِيرٗا وَيَهۡدِي بِهِۦ كَثِيرٗاۚ

Allah says through my order in the Quran I will lead many astray through this similitude and guide many thereby. A person can go astray, and a person can go on the right path. One hukm of Allah can take a person to the heights of belief and Imaan. One order of Allah. Allahu-akbar. Allah says if you take the example of the mosquito; if a person rejects even this, then millions of people can stray from the path if they laugh on this. If people question what does this mean? how can this be, why should we do this? Allah says if a person rejects even one thing that is haraam, it doesn't matter if he or she accepts the rest of the deen, even if he performs hundreds and millions of hajj and umrah, if he mocks and criticises even one pillar of the deen. Here Allah ta’ala gives the example of a small thing like a mosquito. A very small part of creation. How can a person even dare to reject and criticise it. Whether it is equivalent to a gnat or a mosquito or an insect or an ant, how can this be Allah says. So this is what we learn that we just not even consider one thing In the deen to be insignificant. To reject any part of Allah's orders. Even one order of Allah, we cannot contaminate it with our thoughts and opinions, but the problem today is that we have contaminated the whole of the deen with our desires. If we look into our families today, our daughters, our sons, our entire homes, and our businesses, everything will be like this. We will say ‘no,no, we don’t have to do this.’ The same statement that the people said before.
'Fa ya qoo loona ma za araadallahu bi ha za maathala.' They questioned is this the example that Allah gave in the Quran. They will be criticising. 'what does this mean and what is Allah trying to say. What is this order that this is haraam and this is shariah. Everything goes, no need to be so strict as we need to live in the world and advance.’ My friends uttering such phrases is not the deen, the deen is in fact what Rasulullah sallalahu alayhi wa sallam presented to us; hundred percent Kitab and Sunnah. Whatever order comes in the Quran and the Nabi sallalahu alayhi wa salam practised this, the Sahaaba affirmed this, the pious Mushaikh demonstrated this; this is the deen end of story. This is deen and we should stick and glue to it. If we do this then Alhamdulillah praise be to Allah. Good news comes from Allah, amazing and excellent news. And those who don’t will be called the Fasiqeen. Those are the people who reject and have no faith and are munafiqeen, and these verses define this in detail.
So now we have understood about the people of baatil and the people of Haq. The people of Haq are those that have embraced Allah’s deen with full 100% belief in Halal and Haraam, and alongside that they practically implement that as well. The up and downs of life do not affect them, and they do not fluctuate with the times and the age and the years and situations. They stick to the deen because they know that Allah will stand by them, because Allah says He is with the muttaqeen. This is a life of tests, and after this will come Jannah as we have previously described. Some people even reject jannah. They say they don't accept jannah. Well in that case they have become disbelievers and that is the end of the story. Such people reject jannah because they can’t get what they want and so they want no link with jannah Naoozu billah.
Hadhrat Abu Huraira Radhyallahu anhu may Allah be pleased with him and Hazrat Abu Saeed Radhyallahu anhu have narrated a hadeeth – subhanAllah just look at this hadeeth, SubhanAllah – they state that if a person prays the 5 times salah – this is deen my brothers just listen to this – if a person prays the 5 times salah, keeps the fast in ramadhan, pays the zakah. This is what we need to bring, bring amal. If he does these things and alongside this he leaves the major sins, for such a person the eight doors of jannah will be open for him. Just imagine that eight doors of paradise SubhanAllah. But on the other side we will hear; how can we pray salah in congregation, how can we pray salah its too hard for us. We can’t do this its too hard for us. We can't do this here. We are just presenting excuses. Eight doors of Jannah. So if a person saves himself from 7 major sins and acts upon this then on the day of judgement Allah will do what, SubhanAllah, open the doors of paradise. How many doors will open in one time? 8 doors of paradise. He can enter through any door that he likes. Hadhrat Abu saeed and Abu Huraira radhyallahu anhu are the narrators of this hadeeth SubhanAllah.
So, this is the deen of Allah, and if we do this then Allah is so merciful that he will open the doors of paradise. Yet people will complain that they can’t keep fasts and pray salah and it is too difficult. How can they save themselves from the evil of various sins? We will have to do it if we want to be successful. We can’t say that alcohol is a soft drink, leisure drink and we can’t say that bribes are a gift, and we can’t say that ribah is just a business transaction. Another thing people claim is that music is ‘art’. The Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa salam said that he came to break the musical instruments, yet we call this art and progression. Those people who do this, we respect them and honour them. In society today, we call them ‘artists’ in our Islamic countries and we do everything for them. We call this art and expression and advancement. Allah ta’ala says this is immodesty and wretchedness and we are calling this art and culture and progression. We have just changed the names of these things. We call alcohol a soft drink, and ribah is business, bribery a gift. We say that zakah is just a tax. And as for immodesty; we call this progression, and we call these people actors. We call them artists. We respect such people. Tell me what will be the situation of that society? Tell me? May Allah ta’ala forgive.
SubhanAllah the Quran tells us everything. Two things Allah ta'ala has told us and the third thing is that we pray to Allah and we correct our homes.
The world is shaking, and we don’t even realise. Such difficulties are coming, and we don’t realise. Difficulties, ups and downs and dissatisfaction in our homes. We have wealth but no peace at home. We have quarrels and disputes. Husband and wives will quarrel and so will children. There is no peace and satisfaction and happiness. Ajeeb ups and downs; sicknesses and illnesses that are coming to society. In houses, and in families there is disharmony. There are issues between relations, marital issues between husband and wife and with our children. Marriage problems and divorce. What is all of this? This is all due to what? This is all due to the reality that we do not accept what the Quran is instructing. That’s why! Allah says these people will be destroyed if they don’t practise what Allah is telling them to. There is a hadeeth - the word of the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa sallam - Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Umar narrates that when the Prophet sallalaahu alayhi wa sallam stated this clearly, firmly and in anger. When the Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa salam said this hadeeth on his face there was the effects of gadhab, anger and wrath. That the people before you were destroyed, their homes were destroyed for this reason. The cause of their destruction was that they opposed their kitab, the revelation. Just like we discussed earlier. They changed the ahkams and the the shariah, and they modified them. So then why should sickness and losses not come into their homes. Likewise today we are in severe conditions in our homes and society. Do we see peace and happiness around us? Our Prophet sallalahu alayhi wa sallam is making this point and he came as Rahmatul-lil-aalameen; a mercy to the world. So, if he is angry and saying sternly, that oh foolish people, the people before you were destroyed for changing and modifying their kitabs, so if you change my Shariah, my way of life then what will happen!
Fa ya qoo loona ma za araadallahu bi ha za maathala.' Where is this written and how can this be? These are the words of the Quran that has been revealed. This is surah Baqarah isn't it. These are the words of the Quran. Allah has clearly revealed the verses. Fa ya qoo loona ma za araadallahu bi ha za maathala.' People will say where is it written. Where does it say that Hijab is a must and we can’t sit with a ghair mahram? Allah says even if you criticise my Quran the equivalent to a gnat or mosquito. You cannot bear to oppose it. If you make my Halal into Haraam, and make my Haraam into Halal then my punishment will come onto you. You will be destroyed, and you will continue in your destruction.
So, my brothers let’s all join together and make dua. I make dua and lets all make tawbah. Let’s not do wrong actions and let’s not change the deen of Allah. Allah ta’ala is saying that if you are committing wrong, if you are erring, if you are doing wrong then repent to Allah and accept that you have made mistakes, and He will forgive you. Allah says if you accept your sin and repent then that’s fine. Do not be staunch and stubborn because Allah dislikes this and you are doing wrong. If we are doing wrong, we should say Allah forgive me. We should do astagfaar, grab hold of a tasbeeh and cry to Allah. We should ask others to do dua for us. We should at least feel the regret and have remorse. Then Allah ta’ala will open the doors and open the ways for guidance for us.
But if a person is still stubborn and ignorant and doesn’t want to learn. He doesn’t want to pray Salah and doesn't want to learn. The problems of the world are coming, distress, ups and downs. Allah is explaining pray Salah, remember Allah and in response he says what difference will that make, just forget the deen. He says he doesn't need this. When someone explains to him nicely, he doesn’t understand and doesn’t appreciate that this person is advising him and is being sympathetic and compassionate towards him. If we are committing a sin and doing wrong, then we should have remorse and accept and do tawbah. We should repent and ask Allah for forgiveness that we have made a mistake. We should repent to Allah. To be stubborn and resist, and to say that this is your lifestyle and challenge the other person as to how he can even suggest that you change your ways. Allah has explained the reality of those who oppose His instructions and orders. Just as we discussed earlier Hadhrat Umar bin Khatab stated that the person who says he has no link with jannah and jahannam, how can he remain a Muslim? Pick up the haadeeth Kitab and read it. This is the hadeeth. If he accepts that the has done wrong then he is a Muslim, but the Quran has declared that he has erred and done zulm and he is an oppressor because he is rejecting this great deen. May Allah give us all the tawfeeq to act upon what has been said.
