Certain illnesses are difficult to diagnose. Also is case for a spiritual disease - claim of being lazy, negligence, "I don't feel like...", bone idle. Need two different ingredients to overcome this.
First: DEEP-ROOTED DESIRE/PASSION (urdu - shauk). Eg have Hifz, people think too late to start, can't be bothered. Wrong. There's no goal that can't be achieved. Deep rooted passion will get you to the goal. Second: USE THE APPROPRIATE METHOD that will get you to your goal.
Eg proper alim course takes 8-12 years, plus lifetime of study. Needs passion. And method - WORK HARD, EFFORT. Without passion, can't work hard. If not working hard, you don't have passion. Eg the one studying Hifz, medicine degree etc, deep in books whilst mates playing footie etc. Even those not that intellectual still get there, with effort
So, those who claim laziness etc have no desire to get close to Allah. If have that desire, question doesn't arise that won't make effort. You'll sacrifice your time etc to attain your goal. Boro Hadhrat Sahib said that to get this, basic not enough, need to be like a 'janoon', ie completely mad with desire.
Example of women madly in love, crossed river with clay pot, drowned - didn't think about danger. You should be like that in love of Allah - and your Sheikh is the means to this. Example of someone enjoys studying medicine since knows going to be a doctor, even more enjoyment for the lover of Allah. Example of mureed travelling to his Sheikh, and yet we attend dhikr late, don't want to make effort! Hadhrat Sahib visited Boro Hadhrat Sahib twice a year, leaving everything.
So have desire, then must work hard. Not faraaidh, like jamaat, since these done for fear. Desire for Jannah etc, work hard. Eg you won't sleep until done wazaif, hukm Sheikh, like junoon. Ignore whatever others say, like the women who drowned. Everything comes second, and hukm Sheikh and love of Allah becomes all. Example of those who got late visiting khanqah and miss evening food.
So, follow means and Allah will open doors for you. People will cuss you, wife, husband, parents etc, like persecution of the mad, but you don't care. Allah make.your oath easy for you. You don't worry about losing job etc. Only love of Allah in heart, dunya gone. Worry about their wazaif etc.
You can't get Allah by trying to tread both paths. Deen or dunya. Can't compromise. No desire for fame. Claim lover of Allah from attending few gatherings - false claim, don't have desire for Jannah, unlike for dunya which we toil over for days and days.
Silsila Naqshbandia, doesn't take you from dunya, but removes its love from your heart. Make lots of dua for this - that we're weak, haven't done anything, that Allah give us this love
