We are best of creation, complex beings - nobody can understand us except our creator. For complex car, you go to original manufacturer, not any old mechanic. The former know best - knows it inside out. Same with us - Allah's knows our nature, qualities, styles. etc inside out. And Allah gives us according to our style and emotion, even if we think is not good for us. So when you're given something, Allah gave it so embrace it. Wife, husband, kids, job etc, all selected from Allah. May seem that marriage incompatible, but Allah knows best. So business which isn't what you envisaged, keep at it. Example of Hadhrat Sahib business - couldn't manage to work for someone, so Allah provided a business. Point is, Allah knows you the best, knows what's best for you. Allah selects for you what will take you to Jannah. Even makes Jannah in a way that suits us.
So, our nature is that we're weak and lazy. Can't do mujaahidah, leave dunya, do chilla etc. Want to be saved from jahannum and go to Jannah, but doesn't want to make effort in order to do so. Doesn't want to leave job, sleep less etc. But Allah has provided a way - prerequisite is that we have to genuinely want to change. This way uses an inherent characteristic in all of us, allows us to get better without massive effort, and so so quickly.
So, what is that characteristic? Use properly, become better. Use it in wrong way, get worse. Has immediate effect. What is it? INFLUENCE OF COMPANY WE KEEP. So, keep company of good people. No "good person" who doesn't make salaah in jamaat.
No jamaat - house is destroyed. So, need to do salaah in jamaat, fast, hajj - without delay, zakaat - you cheat government tax, don't cheat Allah, only 2.5%. Don't be miserly about this. Better to be poor than sin of not giving zakat. All this, you're pious servant of Allah. Leave sins, idle talk, music, follow sunnah etc, enter Jannah very quickly. So keep company of such people. Their actions will rub off on you. Even you're a sinner or theif, you'll benefit. Not speech from him etc, you'll naturally get benefit. Our body reacts to hot, cold weather, but also reacts to friends of Allah - pulls us to good.
People who joke of deen, so extreme, avoid them, else they'll mess you up. Thief, Drug dealer, smoker etc becomes like that by influence. Peer pressure. Shareef child becomes bad man, even hafiz etc, all spoilt by bad company.
So find company of Allah's friend. Even just make salaah with them. Don't even have to talk to them.
Today is times of fitnah. Question beard, running business on their phones in majlis. Dangerous generation, must protect our iman. Not a joke. Even "small" sin will block you from Jannah - do salaah etc but then see a women, spoils your ibadat, cleans with fire of hell, unless repent from our sins. So quick, easy way to protect our iman, company of Allah's friend.
Hadhrat Ibn Abbas hadith - ask Rasoolullah (saws) who is actually good. We all have a standard of good, but take the standard of Rasoolullah (saws). 3 signs for good, even if whole world disagrees - shaitan will push you away from such people. Signs - FOLLOWER OF SUNNAH. Only that will protect us from Dajjal, who'll show us false Jannah, miracles etc, but won't have sunnah. Will actually be upset with sunnah, unlike one with iman who loves sunnah.
So, 3 signs
- in their company, remember Allah straight away, due to their dhikr.
- when he speaks, or join his gathering, your knowledge of deen improves.
- Not alim of masail etc, but alim of inspiration, divine knowledge. The latter will read hadith with more depth and insight, due to inspiration, light of knowledge. Won't be dunya person, etc, words will pierce your heart - ilm-ludni.
- as result of this ilm, will fear Allah. Eg need to do salaah etc
These are the real deputies of Rasoolullah (saws). Their company made theifs etc into the golden generation of the sahaabah, pulled their iman up to great heights. This effect will last until the last day - the walis of Allah.
Hadhrat Bayazeed Bistami (ra), gathering. Dirty dog was present, sheikh looked at him, as result all other dogs would follow him, such was affect of vision. So how about human being?? Of course be impacted. So keep company - twice a day, or once a day, or every other day, or once a week or once a month. You have a river passing in front of you, but don't drink from it, Allah says you're a full loser
